DC or AP discount? which to use/ how to use

Our family of 8 (Mom, Dad, 6 kids) will be staying in Orlando for 3 weeks in December 2003. We have decided that we will be staying off site for 2 weeks because we want to see some things aside from Disney. We then have reservations at the Contemporary (through Shades of Green) for 5 nights. Finally, we still need to book 2 or maybe 3 nights in one more resort. I guess it seems silly but it is my daughter's 16th birthday and she really wants to stay in the Yacht or Beach Club. Cost wouldn't allow us to stay there for our entire stay but I want to make sure the night before and night of her birthday is at a hotel of her choosing. I haven't booked this yet as I'm not sure the best way to do it.

For a variety of reasons, the premium annual pass will be our best ticket option. I have a currently valid DC membership so I know I can use that to get a discount on the annual passes. However, it won't be valid when we are actueally in Disney World, so I can't use it then to get a room discount as everything I've read says you have to present a valid card at time of check in. But, if I order the annual pass, I will only have vouchers until I actually get to Disney.

Does anyone know how, or even if I can, reserve a room and get the AP discount before I actually get to DW to get the annual pass?

This is all starting to get too complicated ((I'm concidering leaving all 7 of them at home and going by myself!))

You do not need to have the AP or even the vouchers in order to make a reservation at the AP rate. You are supposed to have either when you check in. If you don't have them and the resort front desk CM asks to see them, they will give you a day to get the passes and return to the desk to show them. No problem. Most times they don't even ask to see the AP.
