Daytona traffic?? When??

Got caught up in the Daytona 500 traffic a couple years back. Thinking of going down President's day week again and figuring this may be the same timing as the Daytona.

Does anyone know when the Daytona is? Is there a better time to get through - meaning we could go earlier/later to avoid the congestion. What day would be best to get through there?

The Daytona 500 is on February 15, but there are other races at the track starting the week before. The biggest traffic will obviously be on Valentine's Day and the Sunday after, because those are the 2 days with the biggest events. I've never been there (only watch on tv), but I'm sure it's a traffic nightmare. Good luck!

I will be one of the lucky one's fighting traffic to go to the race...The morning of the 15th will be bad traffic until starting time 1:30.

Traffic should be light until the race is over (approx. 3 hours later)...it will then be heavy until evening.

There are also preliminary races held the week prior.
