Looking for a hotel in Daytona or Cocoa beach areas to stay at for 4 nights in August before we go to disney. Any recommendations? and with the weather being as it is in august, what else is there to do in that area if it rains, besides Cape Kennedy.

The oceanwalk resort in Daytona beach is the nicest on the beach in daytona. www.oceanwalk.com

We are staying there for 8 days before a dis vacation in august. We also have stayed tehre 3 times before and will not stay anywhere else. Right now in august for an oceanfront room it is $127 a night, which is an excellent rate for that hotel in my opinion. They have a lazy river and 2 outside pools, one with a waterslide. There is also a kiddie waterpark and 3 hot tubs outside. They also have 2 indoor pools, internet access, indoor mini golf, spa, washer and dryer in the rooms and a full kitchen. It is very clean. They have an exercise room and game room . There is a list of Daily activities, dj at the pool on some days. It is also on the no drive section of the beach and close to the main st pier. It is located right next to the hilton and connected by a walkway to the oceanwalk shops, where there are restaurants and little shops. It is also across from the daytona lagoon waterpark. They have an outdoor bar and have barbecues for lunch(last time we were there). Check out their website. My whole family loves it there. If you have any question, i will be more than happy to help.

For the last 15 years we have been staying at the Treasure Island Inn in Daytona Beach and love every moment of it. This year, however, it is closed for renovations and we have chosen to stay at the Sun Viking Lodge. Please check out there website and view the video that they have available to watch on your computer. It is located right on the beach and the room are very spacious with a balcony over looking the ocean. The heated outdoor pool even has it's own water slide.

There is a ton of things to do in Daytona Beach. Check out the Daytona Beach website and look at all of the things to do.

I checked out the resort from the prior post and well...I would stay there too!!!!

Check out The Ocean Plaza Club on Hotels.com - they have pretty good rates, (less than 100.00, depending on dates) rooms are clean and almost every room has an oceanview. King rooms are huge. It is a short walk down the beach to the Oceanwalk shoppes, etc.. I stayed there in May.
