What did you think? Looked like it was raining, so I'm glad the race got underway. Some crazy driving.

DH was glued. I peek in from time to time. Kurt Busch killed my stats in the Dis Pick thread.

Near the end, it did not feel like the usual suspects. Had a different feel to it.

I thought it was good. Great to see a restrictor race with so few accidents.

They can't and don't run in the rain. Been at too many races at Daytona where rain caused a lot of problems. NBC needed to clean their remote cameras. It was overcast but it did not rain. They would have red flagged the race.

Glad there wasn't The Big One. There were enough little ones though. Not sure what Tony Stewart was thinking (and I LIKE the #20). Not a big 48 fan but he won the race. Glad Jr. had a decent race.

Not the best race I've seen, but not bad either. Good ending.

This is the first race I have watched in a while... My friend was there (her husband took her for their 10th wedding anniversary, at her request)... I thought it was a decent race but didn't agree with #20's reasoning... :confused3

Tony (#20 ) is a total trip he talks about the big one even death.

Then for like 300 miles he stews on what happened on the 20th lap and decides enough is enough .

I also liked the entire race enough action without the big one .

Jr looks good for this year I love hearing him talk on the radio it's 1 big comic book .

I miss Fox's coverage and D Waltrip. I think Bestwick did a great job in the pits. NBC didn't carry as many in car shots or other gimmicky camera angles as I've seen in the past. Maybe it was the weather.

Agree with the others on Stewart. He owns a sprint car track and gives a lot to the local race fans, but what was he thinking. Even admitted it was payback from an earlier incident with Kenesth on the post race interview.

Great race though and looking forward to a good season.

I loved listening to Dale Jr, too... that is something that is new to me... :rotfl2:

I was pretty darn upset with Tony! At these speeds, this can be a life or death situation and this is no track to mess around on. It is after all the one Dale Earnhardt lost his life on.

I also think they should go over Jimmy's car with a find tooth comb.

Well, as a Kenseth fan I was more than upset with Stewart's antics. Kenseth made a clean pass on Stewart on lap 20, a great move actually. For Stewart to take that to the level of spinning him out was outrageous, not to mention dangerous. Kenseth isn't the type to look for revenge, but I hope he does. I'm waiting to see if NASCAR does anything, especially since Stewart admitted he did it on purpose. A move like that should get him a one race suspension or worse, but i doubt NASCAR will do a "darn" thing.

I think Tony Stewart is clearly making a statement of "don't mess with me or else", and I don't blame him for it.

Could Jeff Gordon be anymore of a whiner?? I was totally shocked that he finally claimed fault in his scuttle with Tony, but then in the end of his interview tried to pass the buck. What a nutcase!!!

I was thrilled to see Kenny Schrader hit the top 10!!!! Good for him!!! :teeth:

And I kept waiting to see if Rusty Wallace would jump over the pit wall when the #2 came in and pull out Busch and jump on in!!!! :rotfl: Miss him!!!
But DH misses him more!!! Wish they would have done something different with the car to make it not look like it should still be Rusty's. Like a different base coat of paint.

Good racing!!! :teeth:

I totally agree!! I have been a Rusty fan since the 80's and it is painful to see Busch (UGH!!) in HIS car. Change the paint scheme, change the number...or something!! Today was the first time I was glad to see the Miller Lite car out of the race before the end.

So anyone who dares to pass Stewart is "messing with him?" Now getting passed calls for taking someone out of the race?

I'm no Tony fan (Jr fans in our house), but I am more a Tony fan than I am a Gordon fan and I think Tony was more out of line than Jeff today. I don't think Jeff's mistake was intentional at all, but even before Tony said his was, I knew it, as did every member of my family who also prefers Tony to Jeff. We were all shocked by his actions cause as you've said, this is out of the norm for him.

ALL I CAN SAY is ,,,,,the LEAST of Tonys problems are the guys on the track :cool2:

After what he did to MATT today--he better hope I NEVER see him on the road,,,,

Cause I will hunt him down with my NON RESTRICTED PLATED FORD TAURUS. :car:
And put the HURT ON HIM :headache: :headache: :rotfl2:

Do NOT MESS WITH MATT KENSETH!!!!!!

Tink :tink:

I watched the whole race. I'm glad racing season has started but I hope the whole season isn't like this race.

I am a Stewart fan but I didn't like the way he raced yesterday. He's a better man than that. At least I thought he was. I hope Nascar straigtens him out before we're too far into the season and someone get seriously hurt.

My thoughts exactly....

It's never coming back to Fox, right? We always hated when it switched to NBC mid-season... now we're stuck with them forever?!? Yuk!

Next year coverage will switch to ABC & ESPN and will have Rusty commentating. Yay Rusty!!!
