This popped up on another thread and I've also seen it mentioned here and there, but never discussed in detail...

What are your "weekly specials" in your house/on your menu. Example: in my house, there is always pasta on Wednesdays--this is a variation of spaghetti Wednesdays--I don't like spaghetti enough to eat it every week, but there are enough other sauces/interesting shapes of pasta that we can mix it up. The kids get their "noodle fix" and I am not drowning in noodles the rest of the week.

So, I've heard of "meatloaf mondays" (this one's brilliant because if you make it up on Sunday, it tastes better the second day and you don't have to cook on monday night), "taco tuesdays" and "spaghetti wednesdays"... but what about the rest of the week?

What's on your rotation? (I'm especially interested in Thurs-Sun)

Friday's are always "SUPER SPECIAL FAMILY" night! Which includes homemade pizza and a movie. The kids LOVE making pizza and getting to pick what goes on it. I love having family time and sharing Disney movies with my kids (we almost always watch a Disney flick!). Sometimes we even go to Sonic for a 1/2 price milkshare that we then share. It's fun and cheap!

Tuesday's are always pizza night because a local place has pay the time you call. So we call at 5pm and pay $5 for a large cheese pizza.

Thursday is almost always breakfast for dinner at my house. By Thursday I'm tired of cooking, and any meat I bought on Sunday (my shopping day) wouldn't still be very fresh by then, so breakfast fits well. My kids would have breakfast every night given a choice ;)

Tuesday is often leftover night, but not always. If I cook somthing big/time consuming on Sunday, I'll plan a second use for it. For example, if I make meatloaf on Sunday, we will have pasta with meat sauce on Tuesday using chopped meatloaf. Or leftover chicken will become quesedillas/chicken noodle soup.

And Friday, when they aren't with their dad, is fun food. They love those Kid's Cuisine meals, so they might have that. Or when I didn't plan ahead bc they were SUPPOSED to be with their dad (tonight) it will be pizza.
