I wasn’t sure if this was the right place to post this, my apologies if not!

My friend and I are flying into MCO September 5th. We are staying at Sapphire Falls through the 9th. However, she has some family she wants to visit the day we arrive. We’ve already priced it out and with our time frames it’s going to be cheaper to rent a car from MCO when we arrive, drive to Daytona and back, return it same day to MCO, and then Uber/lyft to our hotel.

My first question is, does anyone have any preferences or recommendations for/against any of the car rental companies at MCO?

My second question is regarding tolls - what’s the best way to go about this? Mini Sunpass and pay the fees later? Pay by cash at each toll? Or go with the rental company’s toll program/option? We looked at avoiding tolls but aren’t too interested in adding an hour to our drive each direction. Also, does anyone have any estimates for the overall toll cost for MCO - Daytona - MCO?

This is my fourth trip (and my friends second) since becoming passholders, my second (and my friends first) HHN, and we’ll be there for my birthday but also celebrating hers (later in the month) and I’m so excited!!! We leave two weeks from tomorrow!

Thanks in advance :)

We are flying in to Tampa on 9/1, renting a car with Avis, and returning it to the RPR on 9/2. My total for a full size car is $57.57. I know Cabana Bay and RPR both have Avis counters, I'm guessing SF does too. It seems like that would be cheaper than renting at MCO, returning there and then Ubering to SF (and save you lots of time too).

We considered returning at the hotel, but the desks at the hotels close at 6pm. We are concerned we might not make it back to the hotel by then. We did price it out with renting the car for two days just in case but with that and the overnight parking fee it was looking to still be more than the option of returning back to MCO and ubering.

But I’ll double check again with Avis. Thanks!
