My first attempt at writing a trip report.....be patient with me.

Who: Diane (me) somewhere between 30 and 40
Mom if I wrote her age down, I wouldn't see tomorrow!
Dad 66 (gives you a clue on mom's age)
Where: Animal Kingdom Lodge
When: November 28 - December 8
Why: It's Christmas time!

I woke up feeling much better today. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I talked to my roommate - he is sick too, he got it from his dad, so I guess I got it too.

Today's Plan: MGM/Magic Kingdom. Everyone got up and got ready and we were out the door at 8:45am. We didn't get to see Beauty and the Beast the other day so that was the plan for the morning. I of course had other plans...it was time for a THRILL RIDE! We arrive at MGM at 9:10am and immediately went to Rock -n- Roller Coaster for a Fast Pass. The time was for 9:45, so I can go right after BATB. There is no wait now, so I have my parents wait (they don't do roller coasters ) while I went and jammed with Aerosmith. I could do this ride all day long and not get bored. Now was time for Beauty and the Beast and the best pre-show Four for a Dollar . If you are going to the show, you've got to get there in time for the preshow. These guys are FABULOUS! Saw the show and got pictures for a friend of mine who loves Belle. After the show went back to use the Fast Pass for Rock -n- Roller Coaster. It was 10:15am and there was no wait! No need for the Fast Pass, just right back on the ride.

Time to head over to Magic Kingdom. My dad loves railroads for the first stop was Walt Disney Railroad for a trip around the park. After dragging dad of the railroad after one loop - he would have ridden all day if we let him - we took the horse drawn trolley up main street. (YIKES! I need another thrill ride!) Headed over to get a Fast Pass for Jungle Cruise before riding Pirates , well fast pass wasn't working for Jungle Cruise, so we had to wait in the 25 minute line. If it was just me, I would have skipped the ride, but my dad LOVES corny jokes, so this was the ride for him. We had a great cruise director, William. He really got into his role and made it fun for all of us. We then went to Pirates of the Caribbean and after that to the Country Bears Jamboree . I left my parents at the Jamboree and went to Haunted Mansion for fast passes. The fast pass machines were closed at this attraction too! Feeling frustrated I asked CM Bob why there wasn't a fast pass option when the wait time was 30 minutes? He said on slow days they don't operate fast pass on all the attractions. My response was if you have shorter park hours, isn't the idea behind fast pass to allow people to NOT wait in line? While he agreed with me, I also understood there was nothing Bob could do about my frustration. He was great to just let me be frustrated.

After meeting back up with my parents, we head over to Columbia Harbor House for lunch. After lunch Haunted Mansion was a walk on, so walk on we did. Came out right as the parade was starting. Is it just me or is the Magic Kingdom parade short?

After the parade we headed into the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon for the show. The show was full of corny jokes (my dad loved it! ). After the show, I was in terrible need of a thrill ride so I'm off to Big Thunder Mountain while my parents do Hall of Presidents and The Riverboat . We meet up near the Liberty Bell and stake out our spot for Spectromagic . I got back before they did and got great seats right at the turning point of the parade. We had the floats coming at us and then turning right in front of us. A really nice family from Clarksville, TN sat in front of us. Their kids where adorable and very polite.

We hung out after the parade and had a fabulous, non-crowded spot for the fireworks! For anyone who doesn't need to see the castle when watching the fireworks, hang out in Liberty Square (near where the shackle spot is). You have a great view of both the fireworks and the first half of Tinkerbell's flight.

After the fireworks we head out of the park and back to the resort. We are greated with 3 Wildebeasts outside our balcony.

One thing I'm learning - travel with parents and you are back in the resort early each night!

Tomorrow: EPCOT and Candlelight Processional with Marlee Matlin. Dinner at Rose/Crown.

Thanks for reading! and thanks for the positive comments.
