Day in the park before flight home

Southwest just changed our flights and our return flight was pushed back to 715pm, 2.5 hours later than the original flight. So now I'm thinking about going to the parks for several hours before heading to the airport. My concern is I don't want to get on a plane all sweaty and grimy from being in the park on a late May day. We would have checked out of our room at SSR so no chance of showering there before going to the airport. Looking for ideas/suggestions.

I'm not terribly familiar with SSR, but perhaps there are showers in the pool rest rooms at the resort? We have used the pool shower facilities at other WDW prior to leaving for the airport either after a day at the parks or at the pool. If you don't have to take a full shower, you could also just pack a change of clothes for each of you and keep it accessible in your luggage (or in a day bag) and just go back to SSR early and use a rest room to change clothes. It would also be very easy to just do a day at DS instead of going to the parks. Or even consider a day at a water park and using the facilities there to shower and change clothes before going back to SSR to go to the airport.

Don’t they still have showers in the restrooms near the main pools? You can still use your hotels amenities like that on check out day. I’m assuming you’re leaving your luggage at bell services anyway so works have to make the trip back before there before heading to the airport?

Just pack a separate bag with swimwear, dry clothes, ziploc for wet swimsuits and anything else you may need and leave with bell services.

They're great at the villas about getting "the bright blue soft-side bag" or may let you go along to get the bag yourself depending on how busy they are at the time.

Simply go to bell services with ID and your claim check to ask for that bag. That's what we did when needing to change into costumes for MNSSHP.

We always do this and just fly home gross. It's not a big deal for us, since we only have a 2.5 hour flight. If I were doing international or closer to 6, I would figure out something. How about renting a day room at the MCO Hyatt?

I usually change into a clean set of clothes, wash my face, and use body wipes (meant for like camping or when you can't shower) to clean up before getting on the flight.

I always want to shower AFTER the plane and airport :)
But also like to use those cloths designed to freshen up. We use those a lot on vacation, because we like to freshen up before dinner or a night out...

We originally thought we were going to do a park day on our travel home day since our flight wasn't until 6:30, but we ended up just making it a chill day. We did brunch at Topolino's, wandered the resort there a bit, wandered over to Epcot (we did go in to get maple popcorn but that was it!) and wandered the Epcot area resorts, then hung out outside at CBR (our hotel) until it was time to go. It was a lovely relaxing day.
