Day by day waitlist

Please explain the logic of day by day waitlisting. Is it fulfilled more often that block waitlisting?

We are currently waitlisted for a BWV 2-BR for the last 4 days of our vacation. We have a 2 BR for 5 nights and had to take a 1BR for the last 4. Would LOVE to get a 2-BR for those last days.

Pros and cons of day-by-day, please!

If you are waitlisted for the entire stay, you will only get it if all the days become available at once (and you are 1st on the list at that time). They will not set any days aside for you.

If you have waitlisted on a day-by-day basis, you will automatically get each day as it becomes available.

The only con is that it's possible to have a missing day in the middle of the stay- or get only one day in the middle of the stay.
If you can't tolerate those possibilities, the waitlist may not be for you.

I didn't know you could wait list day by day. Were on a waitlist for 10 days late June, so I began calling everyday to see if we could get a 4-5 day block.
