Our final day at WDW started with the usual early awakening, smurfing of t'internet, and a sadness that things had not gone according to plan. The shuttle from the hotel took us to the TTC, where we directed on to the Ferry to MK to pick up a bus to Hollywood Studios. I was surprised that there was no bus direct from the TTC, but the CM would know, wouln't they? And signs directed us to the MK for buses to both HS and AK.

The ferry ride was very pleasant, more enjoyable for us than the monorail, then we waited for a bus. When it arrived, it then took us to HS... via the TTC. A wasted half hour perhaps, but the ferry ride made it not so bad. We arrived at HS just after rope drop, not bad considering we had only left the hotel an hour before and been on a little detour!
I am probably in the minority of DLP fans in that I actually prefer the Studios to the main Disneyland Park. On arriving at Hollywood Studios, it seem became apparent that it was destined to be my favourite park. It was bright, colourful, confusing to navigate, but so much smaller than Epcot and MK. After a very healthy breakfast of cinnamon rolls at Starring Rolls
we headed off for our ride on the much hyped on Toy Story Mania. FP+ helped to bypass a 70 minute queue, and soon we were boarding.... after being handed back my brand new sunglasses, which I had already managed to drop on the floor. The ride itself was awesome, worth the hype! Getting off, I once again was shouted back to be handed back my sunglasses. I seemed determined to lose them!
A 20% off voucher was burning a hole in my pocket, so it was off to the shops to see if I could hunt down a ring I had my eye on. First spotted at DLP, but unavailable in my size, I had spotted it again at Epcot but decided to wait to get my 20% off. Mistake! It wasn't available in any other shop that I could find. Boooooooo! I did find a nice white sun hat with a wide brim, and decided to buy it in the hope of protecting my wonky eyes.
We wandered around the studios, enjoyed the Muppets 3D, Beauty and the Beast, then I set off for Rock n Roller coaster, thinking the single rider line would get me in and out in about 20 minutes.
Fail! An hour later, Richard thought I had been kidnapped by Steve Tyler! The ride track itself was the same as at DLP, but I thought the themeing had a little more attention paid to it. ToT was next, after Richard convinced me that he was fine without me according to his photos, he took lots of pictures of flowers! Sometimes in the rushing around, we forget about the small details.
We had liked the look of the menu at Mama Melrose's, and managed to snag a reservation for 3.10pm for the Fantasmic Dining Experience. We had intended to return for the show by car in the evening, seeing as up until this point I had no eye problems what so ever! We made the most of the meal deal and chose the most expensive items on the menu...mussels for starter, and we both had the steak for mains. The food was devine, the service was excellent and we left fit to burst! We needed to get back for our 6pm shuttle, so waddled to catch a bus to Epcot, then monorail back to the TTC. The shuttle back was slower than the one to the parks, as it had to do additional drop offs, but we were 2nd, and it was interesting to see the other hotels and attractions that I had read about.
Back at the hotel we briefly debated returning for Fantasmic, but we both agreed that we were exhausted but happy to have completed a day at the park, and to call it quits while we were ahead. No need for dinner, we were still stuffed from Mama Melrose's, so we packed and relaxed. A day saved by a hat and extra sunglasses...... why hadn't I thought of that sooner?!
So that is the Disney portion of our holiday complete. The next day we were off to Miami to join our cruise that would bring us back to Barcelona.
