Sooo.. we had a somewhat relaxing weekend for once! DF doesn't know how to sit still, so we rarely just kinda hang around the house.

Friday we went out to dinner with DF's best friend & his gf. I asked her to be my bridesmaid at dinner & she was totally shocked & surprised! She really wasn't expecting me to ask her, so it made it all the better! She's too cute. The next day she even texted me & was like 'I still can't believe I'm going to be your bridesmaid I'm soooo excited!' After dinner we went to a karaoke bar! I think we all had a few too many drinks! haha. It was sooo much fun though. We all needed it.

Saturday DF got tattooed and then I came home to boxloads of goodies at my house! So here is what I got..

Couple of cute little charms that will be surprises in the wedding.. So I can't post them juuuust yet!

I also got this AMAZING planner from my Maid of Honor the other day! I'm so in love with it! I gots to buy some pretty pens to write in it now too! It's like a keepsake memory planner.
Anddd... in these pictures are also my..... BUTTONS!!!!!!!

I was soooo stoked about the buttons!! DF just didn't understand my excitement!

Mr. Creepo's so excited about all my new fun goodies too! haha.


Now.. I get to sit here & argue with my mother. Then DF tells me to shut up lol. I reallyy want uplighting at the wedding & found a DIY tutorial on how to make some of our own & everybody shut me down right away! I love the ambiance it gives to the room. Especially since the reception is going to be at night, the uplighting will definitely light up the room around the windows. The DJ charges $500 for it but everyone's like you don't need it. Which I agree. But wah! Cause my mom's arguement is whose going to set it up? But hey everyone just likes to shut down all of my wedding ideas lately so I told her I'm just not going to bother anymore. ha. Whatever it turns out to be it will be.. they don't care what I want anyway. It's soooo aggirvating! That's one thing I've been OBSESSED with ever since I saw it done. ALWAYS wanted it at my wedding, buuuut now I can't. Blah.

I agree with Kristi. Try being persistent and maybe if your family sees that you really want it they'll understand. That's what happened with the candy buffet for my wedding. Everyone dismissed it right away, but I kept bringing it up and finally brought them round to the idea. It helped that my grandma was super excited about it though!

Thanks! I'm going to see what I can do, but I won't talk about it for awhile.. So we'll see? Sucks. They're supposed to support me not shut down every idea?

wellllll here's a few ideas for you for your uplighting

save your loose change in a jar
do online surveys (like a million of them)
get a cash back rewards card and use the cash back toward it
put $25 per month in an envelope each month (you won't know it's gone)
sell a few things you don't need anymore

or combine all of those things, lol!!
if you really really really want it.... you'll have to find a way to get it!! at least that's how i am!!

So I emailed my planner from our venue asking about doing the sparkler exit.. I had pretty much PLANNED on doing this from the beginning of planning because I would LOVE the pictures from it and it's just so different.. I assumed there would be no problem with the venue right?

WRONG! She got back to me today to let me know that I wouldn't be able to do it because a few years back a couple of *censored* threw the sparklers into the air, burning their awning in front of the venue! Those big jerkies ruined it for me! I emailed her back telling her how bummed out I was and she asked the owner a second time, but it was still a no go.

I was sad too! I had this all planned out and got a big fat no! I guess I can understand, but man I was so disappointed!

I didn't think we would be able to do it bc every vendor here charges $1000 or more but with lots of digging we found someone to do it for $375 so it worked out. I feel the same way you do about family crashing down ideas. I think it might be a DIY bride thing. Ppl can't invision your ideas until they see them. Almost everything you see on my PJ was rained down on until they physically saw everything. I am also getting a lot of flak for asking for help on the big day in regards to set up. My BMs and I have to set up everything the morning of. It will be ok just be you and trust in your decision don't let others bring you down

Haha, but yeah.. I'm doing almost everything hardcore DIY. I have sooo many ideas just sitting in my head right now that I want to start working on for the wedding. But I can't justify spending the money on mock ups when the wedding isn't for another year and a half? Plus the girls don't even have their dresses yet and whose the say their color won't change?! ha. Lord knows I'm all over the place with that stuff.

Right now I'm just working on the engagement party, which is going to take place at our annual summer bbq. So we'll see what I can come up with from that.

I'm still on the hunt for cheapy uplighting.. and don't worry girlie.. I always do me.. that's what gets me in trouble!

So I was thinking about getting a new outfit or 2 for the engagement picture session, so I had been shopping around online and then I realized.. DUH! I have 2 brand new dresses that I've never worn! One from Victoria's Secret and another from Candie's. Yippie!

So here is the dress from Victoria's Secret.. it's this color and it's one of those multi way dresses. I'm debating on getting a cute pair of sandals to wear with it or just flip flops? And then a cropped motorcycle jacket.

The other dress I don't have a picture of cause it's from like 2 seasons ago. But I'll have to take a picture of myself wearing it soon to show you! ha. It depends on our location as to whether or not I wear it, because it's a print and may be too much depending on our surroundings. I also found a look I kinda wanna go for for our more casual outfit...

I LOVE the lace shirt, in a different color. Possibly black with a red tank top underneath. And either one of the shorts after the lace picture. The shorts paired with the lace shirt are just way to skankish for me. ha. I got waaay to much butt for them things! With cute shoes.. Or I'm thinking the lace shirt with these jeans..

So we'll see! I gotta save my moneys and then order them to see how they look online. I'm going to get the jeans regardless because I need new jeans anywayz.

Let me know what you think! And shoe suggestions are always nice. Ha. But I'm on a strict budget right now for my spending so, I can't go too crazy. And can't let Dave know.


I also think I figured out how to make my mom happy about the dress situation and how she always wanted me to wear a ball gown. What if I find a used or cheap ballgown online or in stores even and wear that for my trash the dress? It can be similar to mine and then we'd both be happy! Plus I think I may do it as a surprise. ha. I'm gunna keep my eye out for a sample sale and ebay. I found a Mori Lee design that I'm kinda in love with, ha. So we'll see.. What do you girls think of that idea? Yay or nay??

I actually love the look of the lace shirt and the cut-off shorts!! It looks really cute, and not skanky!! Especially if you put a shirt under the lace, and it is long sleeved- and with a leather jacket and some black heels? I think it would look nice!! And with the motorcycle!!!

Yes, I definitely love those looks that you sent! With the lace shirt I'll definitely put a tank top underneath of it and then get some lovely heels of some sort. Or use something I have.. I just gotta check out my closet. I know I have some hooker esque shoes haha.. But I don't know if they'd be appropriate. ha.

I really need to get my booty in shape if I'm going to wear them short cut offs. haha.

And yes I really think I'm going to do the 2 dresses and I was thinking of not even telling my mom and making it a complete surprise. And I don't have to tell Dave either.. yet. I found 2 dresses I'm debating on right now and they're both in the $200 range.
