Does anyone else think this guy is a wack-a-do?

My best friend loves him, and I just can't see it...

I think he's totally potty, a real attention seeker, when he did that stunt living in a glass box above london without food or drink for days I thought it was really funny that people were setting up hotdog carts below him on the street and sending up hotdogs and burgers by remote control helicopter to try and tempt him.

I used to love his street magic. He was the best magician I'd ever seen. I miss that. I get what he's doing now - it's just not entertaining as his magic has been.

I wonder how many $$$$ of dollars he is getting paid for this? :confused3 CRAP is what it is, who cares, he has a breathing apperatis on somewhere! :sad2:

I saw an interview on Fox News with this guy on Saturday. He complained about the toll this experience has taken on him and about how the skin on his hands is about to fall off from being so prunish by now. I felt like yelling at him, "Then WHY are you doing this?" No one (that I know of) asked this guy to do this, and I don't know anyone who even cares. He acted like he was doing this because of some mass request to do it. Give me a break. I can't stand attention seekers, and that's all this guy appears to be. Please go away, Blaine.

I don't get the Blaine thing either. I keep hearing about it on the news, internet and radio. But, I don't know of any human being that honestly gives a crap. I can't believe that ABC is running an hour long special for this. I also didn't get the David Copperfield appeal either. "Watch as he makes an entire building disapper!!" Yeah right, whatever. Give me that remote, quick!!

Yes, I think he learned that us Brits (especially Londoners!) will not stand in awe as he lives in a glass box above the Thames.

I believe that people were egging the box (amongst other things), and while I do not condone such behaviour I think he kind of 'had it coming' if he thought that we were going to find his little 'stunt' amazing (does he know nothing of British culture?!).

It didn't help that he used our NHS system to rehab after it.

I find 'magic' quite interesting, but Blaine is just lazy.

I asked DH last night if he survived his stunt - DH didn't know. I guess it hasn't happened yet. Isn't this the guy that did a swan-dive into a fan or some other sharp object?

I don't get it either. Copperfield was entertaining when he did his regular magic - the big stuff is a bit over-blown, but his stage show is fantastic - I should say his "staged" show since he has audience plants. Little hint - perhaps using different plants on TV will prevent the people who saw your show live from realizing the whole thing was a fake. :confused3 The intrigue was fun while it lasted.

Every time I hear about him, I think about that episode of South Park where they make fun of both him AND scientology by mixing them together into...."Blaine-tology". :rotfl2:

Yes he is a wack-a-doo, but I'm going to watch anyway. It's more kid-friendly than what DH plans to TiVo tonight..Prison Break. Ugh.

TOV

The first time I saw him on television years ago it really freaked me out. I swear I though he was an alien or someone like Jesus. His tricks are amazing!! Some seem impossible. I've always loved watching him but these silly stunts are kind of getting old.

don't see anything in him either. It's been on the news all the time since he started it ( whatever he is doing)

Freak is what comes to mind when I think of him.

I think he's very freaky. Large ego...definitely desperate for attention . I thought the way the Londoners treated him was pretty funny - possibly brought his ego down a peg or two (doubtful).

I like him, his tricks are cool. And if he gets paid lots of money, so what? That's what he does, many others do crazy things for attention and money too.

I heard that too. I also heard that he hasn't eaten solid food in 2 weeks. Also this whole water stunt is causing irreversible damage to his organs. :sad2: Personally, I don't find his acts interesting. I won't be watching tonight.

Am I the only one who has no idea what his latest stunt is? Last I heard anything about him was the glass box thing. Fill me in?

Oh, and yes, wack-a-do.

I'm not big into magicians but from what friends tell me they respect him as a street magician, at least when he WAS a street magician they respected him but these stupid big "illusions" he does now are complete rubbish.

I just have to ask why? What are you proving? I don't really care if you can live in water for however long. Maybe if you could hold your breath for a week I'd be interested but honestly who are you trying to impress and why do you think you deserve money for this? Do something constructive that might actually contribute to this world!

I live in NYC and I have absolutely no curiosity to head over to his water bubble thing, I think it's a pointless stunt.

I don't think much of him. All of his tricks are just that--tricks. They're illusions, they're not real. As for his stunts. Well, like others have said--who cares?
