My 15 year old is traveling with her high school band on Thursday to WDW. She, of course, is listed in my list of family and friends in my MDE. The chaperones are going to hand them tickets - KTTW style - right before entering the park.

I had her pack her magic band from our June trip. Should I have her sign in as me on MDE to assign herself the ticket or should I have her create her own MDE? I am trying to figure out the easiest way for her to be able to use her magic band and have access to same day FP on MDE.

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

I always recommend that when you want them to be able to log into the app without your login, it's time to let them get their own account. At that age, I think being able to manage some fastpasses on a family trip when running around the park with some freedom is a good thing. Now with a school group going, it seems time so she can manage things like fastpasses from her phone with that group.

It's really easy to do, just select her in your friends and family list and an option to invite her to join mde will appear (I forget the exact wording). I believe it still asks you for their email address, then she just needs to click the link and make her account. it'll auto link your accounts together and handle moving over the bands/tickets/whatever is there for her.. managing a future family trip is just as simple as it has been.

It's much easier to give her your login/password and all she has to do is link the ticket number in the MagicBand and Cards area.

Then she can book her FPs.

My kids have texted me a picture of their ticket and I've immediately linked it up for them.

But managing fast passes wasn't something they cared much about since none of their friends had them.

Exactly! If she gets FP+, is she going to go by herself? Maybe she should create an account and link her friends, and they can get FP+ together?

I'd advise you just give her your username and password as her MagicBand is already linked etc. It may be worth linking accounts with her friends so they can share FastPass+ reservations. You can always delete them from your friends list after the trip if you like.

We actually took her boyfriend wth us in June, and he is on my MDE. I just thought it would be nice for them to be able to have a few fast passes here and there. I'm sure they will want to ride with a big group and also take advantage of FP when they can.

I have created a monster. My daughter has been so many times growing up. She can't believe that they don't already have FP+ lined up. I have told her to just go with the flow and enjoy the atmosphere. She is looking forward to it, but she realizes it will be a different trip than what she is used to!

The only thing I ran into was that while the whole group was excited to be there, the other kids and their parents didn't necessarily care about planning and fast passes.
But our school group is 100-150 kids.

My son is getting ready to go again and he and his girlfriend might do fast passes together but not with the whole group. But my husband and I will be there (not with the group) and can help them too.
