I just called and got Kids' Nite Out, after obsessive research, to come one night and watch the kids' so we can have a parent's only nite in Disney!!:cool1: We haven't been out alone since the baby, now 8 1/2 mths, was born!:sad2:
So...I reserved Narcossee, and I think we will go to the MK...since it is open until 2 a.m. that night. Any opinions on whether I should stick with this restaurant or change to something else? I've never eaten there. We will prob pay OOP so as not to use up 2 TS credits each, leaving 2 TS credits for our daughter that would then prob not be used at all.
Open to suggestions...Anyone?

BTW, it is DH's first trip ever to Disney...if that helps!

I'm dying to try Narcoossees on our next rip. I know if you time it right, you can see the fireworks and they pump the music into the restaurant.

May I suggest heading over to the Boardwalk and checking out Jellyrolls? It's a dueling piano bar and might make a fun night for the 2 of you.

I'd say the WS in Epcot might also have more of an "adults only night" vibe to it. I've heard EMH at MK can be really crowded.

We had a fabulous meal there for our anniversary in Sept! It was our first time and we can't wait to go back!

Good choice!! We have eaten at Narcossee the last few trips that we have made and we love it!

Our first date night at WDW was to Narcoossee's then to MK. It was wonderful. Have fun!

In September we had the best babysitter from KNO ... we will always request her now. If you want a name to request, by chance, shoot me a PM. ETA: we ate at Flying Fish on this date night and it was quite a disappointment, unfortunately.

I agree about both the WS being more "adults only", along with the recommendation to go to JellyRolls.

If you go to the World Showcase and pay OOP, Bistro de Paris would be a good restaurant to try, it's not on the DDP. Another restaurant that we loved was the Flying Fish Cafe. I hear it can be a little noisy during peak times, but we went for an 8:30 dinner and we were some of the only people in the restaurant. Very nice decor, right on the Boardwalk which is fun if you have a wait at all and great food.

The World Showcase would be nice for an adults-only night if you hopped around country to country for drinks/desserts. You could start the night with dinner either at the Boardwalk or in France and then explore the countries, stopping for adult beverages in each, as well as the bakeries at Norway and France for some yummmmmmmmy desserts and camp out on a quiet bench somewhere to see Illuminations while you finish the last of your sweets/drinks.

JellyRolls is definitely a great place on the Boardwalk for some adult entertainment. As mentioned above, it's a dueling piano bar and while it's not "romantic" it is lots of fun and open until 2:00am I believe. After that, depending on where you are staying...either walk back to your hotel or hop a cab at the Boardwalk to return you to your resort (shouldn't be more than $15 or so).

Have fun - I'm sure you'll enjoy the night no matter where you choose to spend it!:goodvibes

thanks so much for the great ideas! I am so torn on what to do now! The only problem with doing WS and Epcot restaurants is that we did not pay for park hoppers b/c we figured w/ the baby one park/day would be busy enough. However, i can still add it if i decide to do that. gosh...decisions, decisions.

no offence but how could you leave an 8 1/2 month old with strangers you've never met??? I know i couldn't, but it is nice to have a nite out, as were lacking that in our family also.

Like I said before...OBSESSIVE RESEARCH...and recommendations from others who have used the service. If you research it, you might be more comfortable with it. The other thing that helps is that my 9 year old will be there too and able to contact us if needed. It isn't too much different than people who hire nannies from a service, or drop there kids off at a disney kid club.

If it were me, I'd stick close by. That's just me.

I agree - do your research. I'm sure your kids will be fine, but I'd be uncomfortable going further than the MK myself. It can be so romantic, just the 2 of you!

When we used Simba's Cubhouse while staying at AKL, we just went to the club lounge, had some wine and spent time alone talking, then dinner at Jiko. Unfortunately, the appetizers in the lounge were too filling, and I wasn't really hungry at Jiko. It was nice, but I mostly enjoy time with the kids at Disney. I didn't want to be far from them. I know they were safe, but still I didn't want to venture far. PS: my son was almost 7 and he was very bored at the Cubhouse, but DD loved it!

I can totally relate about not being away from your baby, though. Our oldest was over one before he ever had a sitter. He was easy to cart around, though, as we lived in Hawaii. We'd just change him into his jammies and he'd fall asleep in his stroller while we were out at a restaurant (they are mostly open air which is nice there).

I think whatever you choose, you'll have fun!

Narcoossee's(sp?) is wonderful! Dh and I got a babysitter last trip and also went to Narcoosee for a date nite. The food, the wine, the atmosphere....very nice. It was our best meal ever at WDW. DH and I LOVE scallops but wanted to try other entrees too. We were able to get a special size of the scallop entree as an appetizer to split and then I had lobster and DH had steak(I think) that was incredible. The proteins, the veggies and the starch were all just mouthwatering. The attention to making EVERYTHING on the plate top notch was a sign that these chefs are pros. We are planning to go again this next trip in April.

I don't know where you are staying, but for us it is also very convenient as we are staying at the Poly. We took the monorail over and walked around the resort listening to the band play and looking at the beautiful gardens. We had a few drinks before our ressie. After dinner, we leisurely walked back to the Poly and watched the MK fireworks on the beach. When we got back to our room, the girls were already asleep. After the sitter left, we were able to spend a little more alone time on the balcony. It was a very nice evening.

We did not use sitters much when our kids were little, but personally I commend the OP for her approach. Kids Nite Out is highly recommended and she has done her homework. It would be nice if more so-called responsible adults hired a sitter for an evening (or stayed in with their kids) instead of pushing exhausted, crying children around WDW in strollers hours past any reasonable bedtime so that the adults can continue to play. Have a great time OP!

I'm so excited!!! Everyone seems to have had a wonderful time on their date nights! Count down is on for ours!:cool1: Think I will stick with Narcossee, since you all had such positive things to say! Thanks, DISers for your help!

Since you are going to stick with your original ADR (which I think you will be very happy with)...might I recommend doing a monorail drink-a-thon? Not as bad as it sounds, trust me!!

Basically, have your dinner at the GF as you planned, then take the monorail around the line stopping at the Poly and the Contemporary and going into their bars/lounges for an after dinner drink or two. You can even take a boat over to the Wilderness Lodge if you feel like spending some extra time out of the park. Maybe end up with a boat to yourselves and you'll catch the Electrical Water Pageant :goodvibes Cap the night off with heading back to MK to walk through the shops on Main Street, maybe see some fireworks, etc. and it sounds like a really nice night out with your DH.

Thanks! Sounds great...esp the DRINK_A_THON!
