my Sil is watching our 4 year old for a night so dh and I can have a Disney date night. Where to go?? Ideas? Never been to Disney before!

Since my kids are 3.5 and short, DH and I would use a date night to ride things we can't because of the kids. We would probably eat at Columbia Harbor House and then ride Mine Train, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder. Or we would do a progressive dinner through World Showcase, drinks in Mexico, dinner from somewhere, dessert in France, then watch Illuminations.

If you want to do a sit-down, we love some of the signature restaurants at the resorts. Victoria and Alberts if it's in the budget, Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge, Flying Fish at the Boardwalk, Sanaa or Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Another thing we've done that was amazing was the afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. I know it's not a "night" thing, but we did it at 4:00 and then were too full for a real dinner. So we walked around Magic Kingdom then had a treat from the Main Street Bakery.

One thing to keep in mind, if it's your first visit, is travel times. It can take a lot longer to get from one place to another than you think. If you are traveling by Disney transport, it could take an hour to get from one place to another. Since date night time is precious, you might want to stay in the neighborhood of your resort. If you are driving, remember to allow time to drive, park walk in etc. We rented a car on our first trip and we kept getting lost. For some reason our GPS would send us down service roads.

Artist Point at the WL or Yachtsman Steakhouse at the YC. We find both to have nice, relaxing atmospheres and great food.

Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk -- great Italian food

One of the Grand Floridian restaurants, can't go wrong there.. The resort is beautiful

If you're going into one of the parks -- Via Napoli or Le Cellier at Epcot or Be our Guest at Magic Kingdom :) the theming at the restaurant is incredible if you're a fan of Beauty and the Beast :)

Ohana at the Polynesian is yummy too and fun to see the resort, plus you can watch Wishes fireworks after if you go late enough

California Grill! Overlooks the Magic Kingdom! Make your ressie late enough to watch fireworks from your table or come back later and watch from their outdoor viewing walkway!
(We got engaged there during Wishes!)

If you want to ride stuff at MK and also have a romantic dinner, then Narcossies, Californial Grill, the wave, Artist Point, or Kona-- not that romantic, but it is at the poly. All of those are by monorail or boat from MK. If you want in the park, skipper canteen or get a dog at caseys and ride the night away.
