So I tried to do the video chat today. The lady on the chat said that I can only make them if I am arriving after nov 1. I am arriving oct 30, but our first park day is nov 1. She said it didn’t matter and I had to do it in person but yet I see nothing noting this as a date when I look on the website on saying 2-30 days prior. I then called and the lady on the phone told me video chats don’t start until oct 19th which I also don’t understand as others have already registered. Can someone explain why I’m having issues because I’m not understanding

Sorry, this has hit several posters who are arriving before Nov. 1st. After initially opening the video chat pre-registration last Tuesday to anyone with a future visit, they changed the next day and are only accepting video chats for people with visits starting on or after Nov. 1st. Arrivals before that date must register in-person as done previously. It has not been a smooth roll-out.

Important Pre-Registration and DAS Advance Planning Update
Eligible Guests visiting the parks on or after November 1, 2021 can now pre-register for DAS Advance virtually with a Cast Member, using live video chat. Please note that you may pre-register as soon as 30 days in advance of a park visit, but no less than 2 days before arrival.
During the registration chat, you will be able to work with a Cast Member to book up to 2 one-hour return windows for select experiences using our new DAS Advance planning option (you may also make additional DAS selections on the day of your visit). The in-person registration for DAS is actually very quick and easy. Took us less than 5 minutes to register at a park GS location, and the CM made me feel completely comfortable and not at all judged (my issues are not visible). From what I've read, guests trying to pre-register via the live video chat have been waiting for hours at a time, and for many it has been relatively stressful to accomplish. IMHO, using the DAS on a ride-by-ride basis on the day allows for a lot more flexibility, and we prefer that to trying to stick to a pre-scheduled itinerary any ways.
