I'm the family member of the
DAS holder that manages the service (getting the passes, etc...) The blue umbrella CMs didn't know why it happened but other family members could "see" me and make selections. No, it is not expired or recently renewed. One CM actually said, "you know our IT department is run by Goofy, don't you?" HaHa! They didn't know why it happened. Since it worked with other family members, I didn't take time until later to talk to them.
Today it worked fine.
We’ve been on multiple WDW trips since DAS Return Times became able to be booked on the My Disney Experience app.
Our daughter is the DAS holder and my husband manages. The same thing has happened to us each trip - our daughter’s DAS tile disappears and reappears without explanation or reason, including one we just returned from on Friday.
One time our friend could see our daughter even though we couldn’t, but he could not make a Return Time. When we’ve gone to the blue umbrella, the CM could see it and make Return Times, even though we couldn’t see it.
It‘s hard to know if any of these things actually helped since the DAS seems to appear and reappear kind of randomly:
- make sure you are logged into your account.
It sometimes logged us out during travel to the park. Most of the time, it automatically logged us back in once we had been in the park a few minutes, but sometimes we had to enter the password to log back in. The same thing sometimes happened when we were in an area of the park with weak wifi - it came back when the signal was stronger.
- log out of My Disney Experience, then log back in
- hard close the app (how to do that depends on your device)
- make sure My Disney Experience app is up to date. The most recent for Apple devices was May 2
- we were also told to try deleting and then reinstalling the app. We didn’t do that any of our trips, because the DAS tile randomly reappeared before we had a chance
