there will be times my husband or myself will be solo with our daughter and we can’t just leave her by the entrance while we go through the queue
Speak with the CM. Each attraction has procedures to handle such situations. It may vary from one attraction to another, or even the same attraction on different days or times of day. But they can help.

Just in case anyone was wondering: it is very easy to get your start date modified, as well. My husband decided he wanted to go today, but my DAS had a gap between October 29 and November 9. I used the chat feature to explain the issue, and they were able to move the date up for me. We did have to do a Zoom call, but only so they could get another picture. My cast member was very nice and let me talk about Carousel of Progress because I was nervous.

DD (adult) was denied for anxiety. She even had a melt down taking to the CM.
They asked how she deal with people at work. Well, she works from home and doesn't have to deal with people.
we have a mother/daughter trip soon) so we'll see how it goes. We do have a nice villa. Might be spending more time there than usual

Can you buy the LLMP? Pre scheduling rides might help her anxiety too.

We can. She doesn't want to. We'll see. He did give her (and so me also) 3 LL a day.
We do early entry and will take advantage of that too.

Now DH's turn. We leave 12-1. He's not even sure he wants to try. He's had DAS for years for breathing problems. We are prepared to buy LLMP for a few of the days.
Being older, we don't ride a lot of things.

I would expect husband to be denied if it’s for breathing problems. They changed that DAS is now for developmental disabilities. That is nice they offered you the 3 LLs and then you can do early hours and get on at least one ride with short wait too!

That is why DH is deciding if he will even try.
He does have anxiety too and takes meds for it, but DD was denied so he will probably too.
We would do LLMP for MK and Epcot, the others we don't need it.
2 days for each of those.

It's not the diagnosis or whether the person takes meds for it. It's based on issues the person experiences in line. Even with issues in line, many can be taken care of without DAS

My DH was denied for a physical issue from meds. Mentioned attraction que re enter. I expected to be turned down, but was still hoping.

We were not offered any LL passes.

I forgot to add, the CM told me how DAS changed on May 20 and going back to how it was initially intended for those who have trouble understanding.......

I have to admit, I do wish we were offered a pass or two. We'll end up buying the LL and only using it for a handful of rides. Would have been nice to repeat one or two of the rides.

I know......I he wouldn't tell him he takes medications anyway.
His lung issues are more serious and he will likely be denied.....he can't breath when in a crowd or if there are strong scents.
He wasn't going to apply. I told him to and if he is turned down, he will know and won't have to do it again.
We'll see if he does. He has a hard time talking and never uses Zoom.

Party of 2, mobility disability as well as long standing bladder and bowel issues which mean RTQ wouldn't be appropriate.

We were denied (as expected) and told to ask CMs at ride entrances what acomodations they could provide. We were also offered one LL per day of trip.

I just wanted to add my experience for anyone who is feeling as crazy nervous as I have been leading up to my video chat. I was Approved for Cognitive/Neurodivergent/Developmental Disability at Disneyland--valid for 240 days with my Magic Key.

There was no wait to be connected to a CM. After I explained my issues with waiting in the queue (offered more details than in the past), I was asked 2 follow-up questions. Others have said this before me, but it really seemed like the questions are ones that anyone who lives with these types of disabilities daily will be able to easily answer. I never felt like the CM I spoke with was trying to catch me off-guard. He was super patient, and let me take my time responding. Once I finished answering the 2 questions, he approved me immediately without transferring me to a medical professional.

I normally travel solo, but will have one other adult with me this trip. The CM said he will be approving me for 4 people, so I don't need to go through them to add more people on. I was too nervous to ask more about that, but since I'm usually solo, I'm not sure if I'll every use it.

I'm just really grateful the DAS will be valid for my next 2 trips, so I don't have to go through another interview anytime soon. No matter how many times I've done it, it still gets me so nervous for days until I can finally call.

My daughter (autism) was approved for DAS a few days ago. We weren’t offered the two LL per day that we have been offered in the past? Is this no longer a thing with the system changes? Wondering if I should call back & request them?

The DAS Advance Selections are no longer part of DAS
Preselects are no longer part of the program - it's only day of booking now.
YES!
They were removed from the program with the changes this Spring at both WDW and Disneyland

Both my children (who were approved under old guidelines) were approved this morning.

I was so nervous calling. The CM was lovely. She let me ramble - she could tell I was nervous and let me talk, and I could tell I was talking in circles but couldn’t get myself to shut up.

She did ask a few follow up questions about each child, then ask to speak to each child but they were not able to answer her so I answered for them.

Overall it took 34 minutes getting on right at 7 est

I wanted to create a thread that was STRICTLY for feedback on your DAS conversation with MS.

First time DAS applicate or have had DAS in the past?
- If it is not your first time, did the process go differently?
Approved for DAS? Give other options?
- If given another option please explain the process!

As there is another thread for extensive conversation on DAS, I would like this to be all about the data and not a conversation on opinions or thoughts therefore being RESPECTFUL should NOT be an issue.
I was approved the last time I went to Disneyworld 3 years ago - I have MS with mobility and cognitive issues. I was not approved this time and told to do rider swap or wait outside the queue until my family (actually it's just my husband this time) texted me that he was at the front of the line and then the cast member should let me through to meet up with him. I knew I would get declined. I just wanted to be sure. I have been reading up on the ADA and they can get away with this because they offer an alternative.

Correct, it’s not an ADA issue because Disney is still offering other accommodations. It’s no longer a one size fits all. DAS is now meant mostly for developmental disabilities and other accommodations are used for other types (and some developmental) disabilities.

My adult daughter was also denied for same reason. She used the LLs very successfully on her trip.
