Darth Vader Character Opportunity

On my most recent trip to WDW in December I noticed while in line for Star Tours I could see Vader taking pictures with folks in a room up above the "loading gate area" where C3PO is looking at a computer. Anyone know how you get to go have a photo with Vader?

If it's raining (or probably anytime there's an issue with having the performance), and your child is already signed up for Jedi Training Academy (the stage in front of Star Tours), they'll bring the children up there for photos instead of the scheduled class. I was *so* worried that my son would be upset when his class was cancelled this past August on account of rain, but he enjoyed the meet and greet with Vader and his troopers anyway.

I see. I was really hoping it was an open character photo opportunity. Us big kids sometimes want a photo too and Vader would be too cool.

Having now thought about this...Disney could do this and make it a FP+ option in the future.

A few years ago on a slow morning in October, Vader was outside Star Tours doing photos with those of us going into the ride. After getting my photo with him, Vader joined our group and actually rode Star Tours with us. It was awesome!

Yeah I would like to go during a Star Wars weekend. Personally he should be more available than just then considering the recent purchase.

Our family got to meet Vader, our kids were not in the Training Academy. My DH made a comment to my daughter that the only character at DW he wished he could meet was Vader, to which she replied sorry he would not get his dream because there was no M&G and a CM heard us. A few minutes later the CM instructed to show back up at a specific time and check in at Star Tours with our name. We were shuffled off to the little area on the DAS entrance where Vader and two Storm Troopers showed up. Our kids had their pictures made with them and then a few shots with the entire family. My husband was overjoyed. On leaving my DD6 gave Vader a hug (he did NOT hug back) and said "Thank you, Anikin, for meeting my dad." It was very sweet. I think that it may be a "pixie dust" type thing as we were the only family there and the photographer congratulated us for being chosen. Glad I had purchased PP+ because those pictures are priceless.
