I have all my ressies for December and now I just saw YC on the travel channel and want to stay there. Has anyone else ever been swayed by the resorts on the travel channel. I think I will need to call now and get the AAA rates. :rotfl:
Thanks!!!!!!

Hi Kata,

The only thing I'd suggest is consider what you want to do at the YC and check the weather. I don't know where you're from, but we live in SoFlo and December weather in Orlando can be a mixed bag for us.

What I mean is that the chief attraction for us at the YC is the pool. Yet we're acclimated so that it can be too cool for us to enjoy the pool. You might reconsider your timing to enjoy the YC based on that. December get pretty cold sometimes.

We prefer the YC/BC in between March-October and the Monorail resorts the rest of the year. Just a thought from a local. Enjoy...

Swayed is an understatement. :lmao: I had to turn it off last weekend after they showed pics of the Poly.

Thanks for the great responses!!!I travel alone and am not a pool person so the pool isn't an issue for me.I live in Wisconsin so I am use to a chill in the air.:rotfl: I always go in December because of The Candlelight Processional and MVMCP. I already have 2 great rates at Poly and WL but am paying rack rate for AKL.The AAA rate for YC is $267.75 I may decide to shorten my stay at AKL and do 2 nights at YC. I do love to resort hop!!!!
Thanks again!!!!

I was recently swayed by the travel channel into extending my stay.. I wasn't planning on doing sea world this time, but after seeing their sea world show I changed my mind. So I need to add a day for that now. :rolleyes1

I saw the last 30 minutes and it was all I could do to contain my excitement. We g o late Oct.

Does anyone know when it will air again so I can see the first 30 min???

Great Hotels: Y&BC was on this morning at 8:00 Central time.

It will be on again 6/8/07 at 11:00 AM Central.

In the meantime, the Grand Floridian will be on 5/29/07 at 11:00 AM Central and the Animal Kingdom Lodge will be on 5/31/07 at 11:00 AM Central.

mickey2minnie1 - the shows are each only 30 minutes long, so you may have seen the whole thing already.

Same thing happened to me! We ended up splitting our stay  . I love those Travel Channel shows.

The travel channel is owned by the Disney Co. They know what their doing. They always show these bursts of WDW programs to get people worked up. It's probably one of the best forms of advertising for them! :thumbsup2

We went down this past November into December and stayed at the YC Conceirge. Our neighbors have a house down there and we were getting weekly weather reports before we went down. The week before we left it was in the 50's. When we arrived it was in the 80's. So the temp does change, like a previous posted said. But regardless of the temp.we would have still loved the YC. When we go down to WDW we rarely go swimming, so we dont have to worry about the pools, however they are heated. Watching the tv programs, makes me so excited to go down again, and so sad that I am not there. When ever we watch it I always say that the next hotel I want to stay at is either the Poly, or AKL. :thumbsup2

Wow, thank you for the listings!! I am hoping to find one on the POLY. I see some for WL, BC, YC, AKL...

You all are the best!

I am so jealous! Our stupid cable company doesn't even have the Travel Channel .:sad1:

It is a "little Disney Fix" for us until our next trip. We watched it yesterday and today. We watch it and call out the places before they announce what they are demonstrating. We just got a new DVC video in the mail also and watched it. It was recently updated so it was cool also. Can't wait for Dec.:thumbsup2 Sorry your cable does not carry it.:confused3

The Travel Channel is owned by Discovery Communications (ie, the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, etc.) and has nothing to do with the Disney Company.

That whole bundle of channels is owned by Disney.

HoraceHorsecollar: If you read this post could you please either confirm this or tell me I am wrong?:confused3
