After reading some of the posts regarding face cream I decided to post this question. For those of you who were blessed with dark circles under your eyes have you been able to find anything that works. I tried some product once that had vitamin k in it and it felt like my skin was burning, my mom had the same outcome with that product. What products have you tried, do they work and how expensive are they?

Thanks

I use Benefit Erase Paste. It's a cosmetic concealer but is more of a salmon color that truly covers the dark circles. I believe it's in the high $20's but it will last FOREVER. Purchase at either Ulta or Sephora....good stuff.

Definitely will be watching this thread - My dark circles practically look like black eyes! Especially late afternoon when my concealer starts wearing off!

Me too. I have all but given up trying to "conceal" them. I was just resigning myself to live with it. But maybe I will try some stuff that is recommended here!

About the Vitamin E stuff. I got a small jar of Lumene Vitamin E lotion (yellow jar) and it was burning my face too! I normally am not very sensitive to lotions, etc. So I am glad to hear it wasn't just me.

I've been doing a little reading on this and aside from products (since this is the budget board) some things that can help are:
-getting enough sleep (obviously)
-drinking alot of water
-getting enough iron in your diet
-putting potato slices under your eyes (better than cucumbers)

my husband developed really bad dark circles a few years ago and nothing has really worked for him, but he recently switched to a new doctor who commented on them by asking if he suffered from allergies. he's never seemed like it as far as being congested and such, but on the doctor's suggestion he went of zyrtec and lo and behold, the circles were gone after a week or so! apparently, allergies can cause dark circles under eye, which i had never heard of, but you might want to think about that.....

Well I am glad I am not the only one dealing with these. I know a lot of mine are hereditary (my gram to my mom to me to my kids). Keep the responses coming, maybe we will be lucky enough to come up with a solution!!!:thumbsup2

Most really dark circles are due to genetics. We just have really thin skin under our eyes. Both of my parents have them bad. Even my dad tried this eye cream stuff when he was wearing contacts, gave up and went back to glasses :rotfl:
I've never found anything that helps, but I haven't spent much time looking.

Mine disappear when I've been vegan (I'm already vegetarian). It's a thing that dairy does to my body. My mom felt that hers probably were too, and I believe that my son's would clear up if I could find a way to get the two of us to drop dairy entirely. But I'm talking *completely*...it only worked for me when there was absolutely NO dairy, dairy byproducts, etc in my diet at all. Not whey, not milk solids, nothing. Not all that easy.

Pretty sure mine are genetic. And I would NEVER be able to do this. I love cheese too much. :lovestruc haha

I too have heard this. I went to a skin care consultant/ plastic surgeon to discuss what I could do or use, fully thinking I'd have to go under the knife to tighten up under my eyes where there were shadows from every so slight bags forming. They said first before they can do that I would have to undergo sinus surgery with my ENT to fix my deviated septum and chronic sinusitus. So I do my best to cover them but I really have learned to look past them more than I ever did. Didn't go ahead with the surgery ( so far!!!!!)

I can't function without my erase paste. It is the greatest concealer.

And I use Clinique's All About Eyes. Slathering it on at night makes a difference for me. My circles are genetic, they're not going anywear.

Mine developed around the same time my allergies did. One of my allergists called them "shiners". Since I have had some nasal surgery and take Xyzal each day, they are better, but still there. I have also learned that a dairy allergy or sensitivity may cause them. So, if you suffer from allergies, that could be making your shadows worse.

My poor husband has really dark circles under his eyes, he only looks healthy when he has been out in the sun and gets some color on his face. I bought him the vitamin K cream a few years ago and it did nothing for him. I have never seen him without them so I guess he must have inherited them from family.
