Dancing with the Stars--Cast Revealed

I think he is one of those guys that can teach the basic steps but does not have the creativity to bring it to the next level. I think that Tony makes some big mistakes when he gets close. He had Melissa last season who was not only a good dancer but had a HUGE following.

I remember that dance. I thought WTH??? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: It was like watching a train wreck. :sad2:

I'm worried that what you said also applies to Kym in regards to Donny. That they may get up there, but those final dances will lack the flair and finesse to make it to the top. (Can you tell I'm obsessed with Grandpa Donny  & worried about him losing already. :hyper: ) He still has to be able to pull off some hot, steamy sexy dances coming up that he may be too uncomfortable to do. Kym may not be able to pull it out of him or work around it. :(

Is there a song list or anything? Been trying to ID the song Chelsie and Louie danced to last night.

But anyone else have favorite pros? For the ladies its Lacey and Chelsie and for the guys its a three way tie between Jonathon, Derek and Mark.

Joanna & Derek Jive What I LIke About You
Lillix
Natalie & Alec Quickstep I Want You Back
The Jackson 5
Chuck & Anna T Tango Seven Nation Army
The White Stripes
Melissa & Mark Jive Long Tall Sally
Little Richard
Michael & Anna D Quickstep Too Darn Hot
Buddy Greco
Debi & Maks Tango El Tango de Roxanne
Moulin Rouge
Louie & Chelsie Jive Crash The Primitives
Aaron & Karina Quickstep The Muppet Show Theme
Jim Henson
Kelly & Louis Tango Take Me On the Floor
The Veronicas
Kathy & Tony Quickstep Shall We Dance?
The King and I
Mark & Lacy Quickstep King of Swing
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Mya & Dmitry Jive Would You...?
Touch and Go
Tom & Cheryl Tango Por Una Cabeza
Tango Project
Donny & Kym Jive Secret Agent Man
Johnny Rivers

They usually list the dances on the DWTS website.

My favorite pros are for sure Cheryl and Maks.

I also like Chelsie, Kym, Derek and Mark.

I agree that some of these pros just aren't as good of teachers/choreographers as some of the others. I think Tony & Edyta, well, are yawny & rarely do anything that 'wows' me. Hasn't Kym brought a person or two to #2? I know she did with Joey F and frankly, I thought he was fantastic.

OK, Samantha's hair is looking frightening tonight. Is she going for a vampire look or something? Too dark with the hair color.

I think Kym was paired with one of the football players a couple of seasons ago.

Thanks Alice28!

:rotfl2: I thought so too. Plus it was way too curly for that length of hair, and it was weird at the top.

CSatine, Remember, you can usually see the dances again on YouTube.

I have the YouTube link for Giles' sexy Paso Doble in my bookmarks if anyone wants to see it again.

I read that Kelly Osbourne said there was a rumor going around backstage that one of the contestants has been taking secret dance lessons for two years. Anyone else heard anything about it?

I haven't heard that one, but I do know Mya grew up taking tap and jazz.

Who are you guys voting for with the 'build a dance' thing? I had a hard time choosing the celebrity!!! There are some GOOD ones. I chose Mel B- I LOVE Gilles, but it seems we just saw him! I also kinda wanted to throw a vote for Joey F. I might go back and vote again.

Not a rumor! Donny has admitted to taking ballroom lessons for at least a year, but he says it was for the Vegas show and not 'real ballroom' - yeah right, as if there is a difference! They were talking about it on "Access" or one of those shows the other night.

Before I heard this, I wanted to see him go far. Now that I have heard about it, it makes his attitude (confidence to the point of cockiness) irksome.

I was wondering. If you are once of the dancers on dancing with the stars and you get kicked out early. Do you get paid less than the dancers who make it further?

I guess what I am wondering is if they are paid on a per show basis or a per season basis.

My favorite pros are for sure Cheryl and Maks.

I think the ONLY reason lame toe Tom is still on the show is that people are voting to keep Cheryl. He is utterly atrocious.

My favorite pro guy is Derek and now that Julianne isn't on this season, my favorite pro girl is Chelsie.

I read somewhere last season that it's a per show thing. It goes up drastically if you make it to the finale and of course, it's huge if you win.

Really? That's a shame for the dancers paired up with stiffs like Kathy Ireland or Macy Gray. I like them both, but I don't know if any of the dance instructors could have gotten them much further...

Did you actually SEE an interview where Donny admits this? Or was it just that Access Hollywood reported this? I saw two interviews where Donny, then Marie, themselves, deny this. Of course he's had some dance lessons for the Vegas show. But, pop/jazz dancing is different from ballroom.

Otherwise, they should disqualify the football player too. They do a lot of fancy footwork training, like running through rubber tires, the sideways footwork exercises to switch directions and avoid other players, etc.

Mel B was a Spice Girl. Some of these stars have more dancer-type/physical training than others.

There was an article last season which leaked Shawn's contract. She was paid by the episode and it went up dramatically if she made it to the finals, and then if she actually won.

I think the dance pros are paid a little differently as they are still on the show: they sit in the audience on Mondays and dance numbers on Tues. So they probably still get paid per episode, but a lot less since they no longer have to train the star they were assigned.

Imazadi:

according to what I saw - they said he had admitted it and the "it was for vegas....not "real" ballroom" was a quote from him...you can take it for what it is worth. From what I see from him - (ETA)and coupled with the "rumors" - I tend to believe it. They said it was specifically ballroom lessons. I never said he should be disqualified. I thoroughly understand the backgrounds of other contestants.

ETA: I also think that putting it out there via Access, them denying it, the backstage rumors.....is all purposeful/planned by the show to keep up interest/hype for the show

That makes sense. They ARE pros. So they can probably schedule something on the days they have freed up after their partner is kicked off.

I'm just a little over-protective of Donny. It goes back some - err, thirty years. ;) :goodvibes

oh. I'm with ya on that - we must be close in age.

I was thinking of voting for him, but I would rather vote for someone who has come further....though I still want to vote for Mya who has an advantage.

see my ETA to previous post - I think the show had this whole thing planned out ahead of time for what it worth and don't think Donny is a bad guy or anything of that nature - though he does seem a more little cocky than I had seen out of him before - maybe that is all part of the plan? Who knows?

:)

I haven't seen Donny & Marie's Vegas show but I know since Marie has done DWTS part of their nightly routine is to have a "dance off" to see which is the better dancer. Of course it's part of the act that Marie always wins. But I could see Donny taking some lessons so he wouldn't look like he totally was clueless to prepare for this part of the show. I've heard Jonathan Roberts and his wife helped Donny & Marie choreograph that whole part of their show. So if he did get lessons I really think it was for the Vegas show and not with DWTS in mind some time in the future and trying to get a leg up on the other contestants.

In our house all votes go to Donny! :cool1:
