The last two of the year, both 4 stars-
"The Summer That Changed Everything", Brenda Novak. At first, it didn't seem typical of this author's book-it was more mystery than romance. But as time went on, the focus on romance increased. And they all lived happily ever after.
"She Didn't See It Coming", Shari Lapena. Wow! I usually don't read serious "who-dun-it" books, but this was one. At one point, the police officer alluded to a picture of an iceberg in her office, and how it reminded her that life is 10% what's above the surface and 90% what's unseen. That was certainly true in this family's case.
I finished the year having read one less book than my goal-55 of 56. I feel pretty good about that.
