Sending prayers and pixie dust to all who were in Sandy's path of wrath. :grouphug:

So far, all of my family and friends who have checked in are OK. Some storm damage, but the humans, furry people and other animals are undamaged. Still waiting on a couple of cousins to check in this morning, but they were OK last night.

I'm one of my family's contact people, so I relay messages from those in the path of a storm or other disaster to the rest of the family. We set this up after Hugo hit and the San Francisco earthquake that quickly followed, as we're spread out over the country and sometimes overseas. It's better than those in the affected area having to call multiple people to assure them they're OK. They only need to call to their contact person. ::yes::

Hope everyone who's affected by Sandy stays safe!! The move is over, went well, and now the settling in begins. Just wanted to stop in and say hi while we have power!!! The wind is picking up and DH said he saw the town DPW setting up a generator by the fire station. Yeah, that bodes well....

.
Hope y'all are still OK!

Hi everyone. I still have power.....for now. Maybe I will get lucky and keep it. It won't be too bad in Maine considering other areas. Tonight we will have heavy rain, possible flooding and wind gusts 50/60 mph.
:thumbsup2 I'm glad to hear y'all are OK. Hope you still have power today!

We're fine down in North Cackalakie. But it has gotten real cold real quick. Like 50 degrees. Brrr. (Or at least brrr to us)
I'll be near your neck of the woods next week. Heading to a resort just south of Myrtle Beach. I know you're not in MB. And love the Cackalakie reference! I know where you're from!:lmao:

OOH! Thank you! I need to file this one!

Just checking in with ya'll. Anyone heard from kimmar?

I hope she and all of the others are OK! I've been through more than a few hurricanes and know how it is. :headache:

Thanks.

We are safe. No damage at our place. A house next to our unit lost a few small pine branches. We have power for now. This may change since it is still windy and the ground is soaked.

Checking in from NH! All is well. Lots and lots of people without power but we are not among them, thank God. VERY thankful for that. The rain is just coming in bands at this point, but no more wind to speak of.

Been thinking of kimmar smack dab in the middle of this path. Hope she is ok. :worried:

Happy to report I have power. The wind was whipping at 3am so I'm surprised nothing fell on the lines. It's raining and the air is warmer than usual. It was 61 when I got up at 6am.

Hope Kimmar and her family are ok.

Good idea and I'm glad everyone is safe.

Good morning! Good to hear everyone is doing ok. Maybe Kim is with out power. I hope she is ok.

I'm assuming she is without power as well. It's POURING here and quite dark. Thunder and lightening has started. Dogs are not impressed.

The little doggie I watch, her mom just called, she was in NY and said it was a nightmare. She said she is turning down the job offer there. Can't say I blame her. Hopefully Kim will be able to let everyone know how she is doing.

YoYo - great contact plan for the storm.

Glad to see no one has had any major storm trouble, so far. I'll feel better once Kimmar checks in. The pics from her neck of the woods look scary.

Did you guys see the pictures from that Queens neighborhood that had that massive fire?!......it literally looks like a war zone. So sad.....:sad2:

LOL. I do only live 45 min north of N Myrtle Beach. Odds are you will be within 15 min of my house if you spend any time on I-95.

It is very sad.

Hey all!

So glad to hear that everyone that has checked in is in one piece! I've been praying for you all!

On a side note... been busy sewing all weekend. :teeth:

Here's the first skirt I made:

I also have fabric to make a Cinderella, Tinkerbella, and Minnie dress.

Bought classic Avenger fabric to make DS a new pair of pajama pants. I also under-bought some Agent P fabric. My BFF and Disney buddy, E, suggested making a drawstring backpack. He loved the idea!

Here is the Minnie dress idea:

I Frankensteined this together in Photoshop using the drawings from a Lizzie McGuire pattern I bought. I super-imposed the red Minnie fabric I just got, too. DD wants this same style of dress in the Tink and Cindy fabric too.

I'm almost packed for vacation... :scratchin

Hope everyone is well and safe.

Just checking in to let you know I'll be intermittently checking in the next 11 days; if at all. Heading to California today.
