Good day to all you fine people.

We are trying to get to Florida the end of Feb to visit my mother, but flights hurt the budget. Prices have gone up since the last time I looked. I will check again this weekend and Tues night. Some people swear if prices are going to drop to wait for the weekend or Tues night to book.

If there's any way you can go sooner, I would try. Speaking from experience (booking flights to see my dad!), by the 3rd week of Feb. you are into vacation time and flights get ridiculous, right through most of April. Right now I'm trying to book something in January and Southwest is playing games with me. Out of Manchester, they are so-so but higher than I want to pay. About 2 days ago, there was a great deal out of Boston. Today that was gone. So, I will keep watching and waiting with you!!

Morning all and welcome to another week! No school for the kids today but of course I didn't sleep one milli-second beyond when I normally get up anyway..... So, I'm just enjoying some quiet time before I get ready for work.

I have the day off but the kids still had school which meant no sleeping in for us. Then I went in for my annual not so fun doctor visit only to be forced to reschedule because of an early monthly visitor. The earliest next appointment? The end of February. I plan to curl up in bed and read the rest of the day.

Ok.... we are hosting a German student in the spring.... UGH.. whay did I agree to this? Now what am I gonna do to entertain...? At least the good thing is... my DD's swim meet that I thought would interfere actually ends the day before the germans get here... so, it's a good time in the sense she will have a few days off...
So.. I wish I lived closer to Disney.. I would take them to OCTOBERFEST.... but for now... I have to try and come up with a plan... we were thinking maybe to Lancaster to do the PA Dutch ... maybe to Chocolate world.. down the jersey Shore. (boardwalk) ... but it's March April... so the weather could be nice.. or... not so nice.... . the school is planning trips to NY / Philly and DC.... so that's the big places... don't know where else.. maybe Baltimore area....

(boardwalk) ... but it's March April... so the weather could be nice.. or... not so nice.... . the school is planning trips to NY / Philly and DC.... so that's the big places... don't know where else.. maybe Baltimore area....

Buy or rent all the David Hassellhoff shows or movies you can find!!!!

That sounds like great plans so far. Do you have a large extended family? My Japanese exchange student really appreciated the family gatherings we had during her visit. I didn't get it; but then I think she was looking for the "normal life" experience.

A couple of weeks ago flight prices were good. That's what I get for waiting. I will def stay away from the 3rd week in Feb which is vacation week here. I have no interest going Jan or Feb, but that is when my brother is laid off and wants to go so he doesn't have to take time off while working. He doesn't get vacation time.

I should have said a couple of weeks ago the flights were good priced 'for my small airport.' I'm sure Boston and Manchester have better deals and direct flights. I would consider driving to Manchester if I was not going in the winter. It's a long enough drive, I don't want to add time or distance if it's bad weather. Of course if I pick rotten flight times, it's a little cheaper. I really want to avoid having to get up at 2:30am to make an early morning flight. I've done it before and I'm a zombie by the time I get there. It's over $400 for good travel times.
