Dance Group Performances?

Ok this is going to be kind of a vague question but it is something I've been trying to figure out for years..

My first trip to WDW was with a college dance group in 2003. I wasn't a dancer myself, but I was a part of the team as their helper/manager. I remember them performing while we were there, but I cannot for the life of me remember where they performed. At the time, I didn't know much at all about the parks and just sort of followed the group, so while I remember visiting all 4 parks and Downtown Disney (at the time), I don't know where we were during the performance and have never figured it out to this day. I can still picture it pretty clearly in my head, but I haven't come across any place on all of property that looked like where I was.

The best I can remember is that this area had a stage on one side of a walkway with a kind of director's perch across from it. This is where I was. I remember going backstage for the dancers to get ready and then being driven over to this area where they performed. I don't know if we were in a park, Downtown Disney, or what. I guess my question is what areas do performers set up to do performances like this (not competitions)? Maybe if I had an idea of where these things typically happen, I could narrow it down, but in all my trips I've never even come across a place where I've seen performances like this going on.. Except maybe the stage in DS. Which I guess could be it for all I know..

I know there isn't much at all to go off of here, but I have no pictures or any other way to describe it. Just a shot in the dark I guess to try and satisfy my curiosity lol.

When my daughter danced there (pre-college), it was on the stage in Disney Springs across from the World of Disney store. Although, that was 10-15 years ago.

That may have been it. I don't remember any water nearby, but that could just be fuzzy memory from being 20 years ago. :)
