The stuff from K-mart is adorable , I'm sure Claire will love it and boy did you ever get that castle super fast ! I bought a lot of toys for x-mas during that clearance sale at K-mart too and now don't even remember what I bought , I'm gonna have to go through it since we just also bought a ton of stuff at WDW to add to it !

the memory you submitted , had know idea that was going on If I had the time right now I would def submit one , but with this move and all this other crazy stuff I barely have time for anything !

I have been doing alot of thinking over the past few days. (yep, my brain hurts!) Skip's hip is still off and on. Somedays he's really good, and then others he can barely walk. I really don't know whats going to happen with him. The shots are NOT working. He did call another hip Dr. Friday for a second opinion, and they are supposed to call back today to tell us if they will take him on or not.

So, my thoughts are, IF we could go, and Skip is still iffy, maybe we could do the plans a different way. I figure if I tell him the plans this way, he may like it better, but then again, he may not. We could fly down and on Wed and Thursday do pretty much as planned. Resort relaxing. This should be good for him, so he doesn't have to walk so much and we can try different things. If he wants to hit a park for a few hours, we can, but if not, relaxing and exploring will be fun. Then we do Friday pretty much as I have planned at this point (which I will post in a bit) but skip the MVMCP that evening. MK closes at 7, so we could head back and relax or if he's up to it we could go to DHS and see the Osborn lights and then head back. That would require us to add on park hoppers though. Then he could fly back home early Sat morning straight into Toledo. Claire and I could stay on, and then hit the parks hard, and do the MVMCP another night. I just don't know how he'll feel about him leaving and us not. He gets kind of like ....well....a baby !.....sometimes if we have too much fun without him. I would like him to be there the whole time, but I also don't want him to be in total pain.
I am also thinking the way things are, that he may not be "healed" up by March either, the other option for traveling. It just seems like so far MONTHS have gone by with no improvement.
So my other thought is to cancel this whole idea of going to WDW and see about going to CA to visit my best friend. Of course Claire and I would hit a few days at Disneyland if we go that route. Again, though, Skip might be a "baby" about it too. My mom actually wants to go out with us there someday, so she could tag along as well. But timing that will be hard, because my mom works fulltime. She and my dad and youngest sister are going to Vegas at the end of Feb for a week. She gets a few weeks off for vacation a year, but I don't know if she would want to take them very close together. I am thinking Jan for CA. But it could be next Sept. LOL!

So anyways, these are thoughts being thrown around inside my head currently. I guess sometimes being a single mom was easier, because I didn't have to worry about what someone else thought when I picked up and went somewhere. And I was single for so many years. So I still have that independance streak in me. Some people "worry" when I do stuff alone now with Claire...but I did it with 2 kids for a long time, and think nothing of it.

Wow....those are some tough decisions to have to make! I know what you mean about doing things on your own. I have taken my kids several times on trips by myself because Richard just can't do it. He doesn't really ENJOY it, but he gives me the "ok" because he knows that my needs are different than his. It would be so hard for me to take the kids to Disney without him though....I did take them to DL once by myself. We had a great time. One of my BFF's lives out there and we went one day by ourselves and one day with her family.

Maybe it's all in the approach to Skip.....good luck with whatever you decide. Although I'll miss being able to meet you if you don't go in December!

Yeah! But it really is up to Skip, I guess. I'm not giving up on Dec. yet though. Thats when I really want to go. And I have some great ADR's in place already. LOL!

That way he could stay at the hotel and relax during a couple of the days. We did a trip without my dad in 2001. He doesn't like Disney and hates waiting in lines, he chose to stay home and paint the house, my mom tried bribing him to go with Red Sox Devil Rays tickets (Pedro was pitching for the Sox the week were were there), but he decided he would rather stay home. Actually that is kind of what my plan is if he comes the whole week. But still have tickets for everyday so he can, go to the parks when he wants to and meet up to eat with us each day. But he really deosn't like being away from home that long, so I thought if I offered the shorter stay for him it is kind of like the best of both worlds.

I hope one of these plans works out for you Jen. Because of my son's soccer schedule last year, my husband came a few days into the week with my son. It was an awesome trip. We got to go go go for the first few days, and character hunt, and do all the girly stuff. Then we got to enjoy the park together with my husband and son and focus on the rides. It was a great balance.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys! And of course mostly for Skip, who could really use a break from all that pain I imagine.

Yeah, he did it last trip, so he shouldn't mind too much at all. Actually he and I will probably have no problem with the plans, but Claire may mis her dad. LOL! But she did fine when we would seperate last time. The only time she got teary was when he was considering heading homeealry last trip.

Thanks. Yes, I don't mind it if he's not with us all the time. I liek having him, but I can have a good time with just Claire too. I do hope we can get this all figured out. It is really dragging on and on.

I have heard that too about other Drs. I know one that will, becuase he did Paige's step grandmas hip replacement over (after the same Dr skip goes to did it the first time),but he is kind of out of the way for us. Everything is kind of out of the way for us, since we live in the country, but this is WAY out of the way. LOL!

Sorry to hear that Skip's hip is not any better and that your having a hard time deciding what to do about your trip Honestly though growing up my Dad did not want to do anything, we had to basically drag him on vacation with us every year and if it wouldn't have been for my Mom taking us to do all kinds of things even though my Dad did not want to go , my brother and I wouldn't have all the great memories we have now . So even though Skip may not want to go or can't go I don't see anything wrong with you taking Claire by yourself , why let her miss out on a fun time !!

Yes the plans are BBB at 10:40 AM and CRT at 4 PM.

Still not sure if we will go in Dec. Skips hip is just not getting any better and we have yet to find a Dr who can do anything or find anything wrong. It's becoming very frustrating.

I jsut started running down my days in the last few pages, I have only done day 1 and 2 so far. But the fast version is, we will check into AKL on Dec. 8 and hang out and swim. Then Dec 9th do breakfast at 1900 PF and possible the resort photoshoot. at GF. Then do more hanging out and exploring AKL. And thats pretty much all I wrote up so far. LOL!

He called the Dr this morning that he was hoping to get a 2nd opinion with, and they won't take him. He's back to leaving messages at the hip Dr. I am out of options. Something is wrong, but no one seems to know what. The hip Dr did say several months ago, that perhaps the peice was too big and it's rubbing on muscle, so to cure it, that he needs to redo it, which will be harder the 2nd time around , I guess. But at this point, that may be our only option. And of course that might NOT be the problem even. Someone also said...and I can't remember who, that there is a possiblity he nick a nerve while in there. And I'm not sure what the cure for that is.
