Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

Looks like if your plans stay the way they are you'll be arriving the day after we leave. How exciting you're planning to stay at AKL, it's one of my favorites! Hope everything works out as planned!:wizard:

Day 2 in the works... is Dec 9

I have an ADR for 1900 Park Fare for 10:45 AM this day. (pay oop) My plan is to have Claire wear her Mary Poppins dress so she can get a picture with Mary, who is normally there at Breakfast. We have done 1900PF before, twice, but only for dinner, so this will be a new experience.
I then hope to have our photoshoot scheduled for after breakfast. I figure it is best for us all to wear a different shirt than what we will have for the shoot, because some of us...(ahem Skip) tends to wear alot of our meals.
So I am thinking of trying to get it for around 1:30 or so at GF. If we can't get it there, then I'm gonna try the Poly, if not there then AKL.

Depending on how we are with time, and the weather, we may then go back and swim, explore the resort, or head over to DTD a bit.
I really want to be able to enjoy as much of AKL as possible, since we are only there a short time, and most likely won't be back there for a long time.
If we go to DTD, I only plan on spending a little bit of time there, so we can go back and have fun at AKL.
We'll play it by ear for dinner, something CS, somewhere. LOL!
One thought for the evening is to go over to Fort Wilderness and do the Chip and Dale campfire, but not stay for the movie. Also it may depend on what activities are going on at AKL too, and if we saw the animals with the night vision goggles the night before as well.

Another option is to get our tickets from our package early (which I have read you can do up to 3 days early) and go over to Epcot for Illuminations. I have not seen it since 1999, and I'm sure it's changed since then, and I really want to see it. And it could be a nice way to end the day...but I am also not wanting to be up too late, (illuminations are at 9:30) because the next day is Claire's b-day. And I have alot planned for that day.

Yes. I seem to arrive the day after everyone I know is leaving! LOL!

1900 Park Fare is my favorite character breakfast. The Buffet just SEEMS better than the other breakfast buffets we have done lol. I think it is all the same food though. Plus I have issues with the characters in costumes, face characters are the only ones I am not creeped out by (I blame my mom making me meet them all in Disneyland when I was three and terrified of them).

We haven't done too many breakfasts at WDW. We did Chef Mickey's in 2007 and it was just OK. Nothing great in the way of food, but it was OK. We were all really tired by that day too.
Last trip we ate at Cape May, and it was soooo awesome. I recommend to everyone. But the service was not great. We had a non existent waitress most of the time, but the food itself was wonderful.

The buffet there did seem better. Maybe it's the strawberry soup.

We love Crystal Palace because Tigger is DH's favorite and I love Eeyore's gloomy disposition:love:. The food is the typical Mickey waffles, etc, but I think every buffet has their signature item. When we did Cape May, we had a wonderful waitress named Sunny. Her name fit her perfectly! We've also done the AK buffet in '06 when it was Donald's Restaurantasaurus (sp?). That was good also. Oh! We also have done Chef Mickey's. We really don't do the buffets for the food, more for the characters.

Liberty Tree Tavern is our only meal that we're doing again because we love the food there. It was like Thanksgiving dinner!!! It just sucks that they no longer have characters there!

I wish they still had characters there too. In fact I had it on my list of next to do, but then I read they were stopping it, so thats been out for quite awhile. Actually I would liek to do it, but I really try to do character meals as much as possible while Claire is young. ....Who am I kidding, I love them too.
Also there are so many places to eat in and near MK that it is hard to fit them asll in and give them a try. Since we don't do hoppers, I tend to try and have our ADR close to where we are at, and I always seem to be going to the closest character meal.

My friend and I have done a lot of the character buffets mainly because we are picky eaters and it always has something we both like (neither of us like the same kind of food), and if we eat at like 1030ish we are NOT hungry again until like 7 or 8 at night so it works out well for us! 1900 Park Fare though is our favorite. We like Cape May too, but the set up is better at Park Fare.

Remember a few months ago when I was going to hit up K-mart clearance and do most of my Christmas shopping?
Well I never really said much about what I got, but I did get some great deals.
I found these Fisher Price Precious Place sets that are really cute and were really cheap, and knew this would be a hit for Claire.
It's a Swan Palace set with several assessories.

Here is what I got for her this summer.

The reason I'm showing you all this is because today I finally got the BIG castle that goes with it....for 54 cents!!!!! I had done a rewards program online and earned amazon gift cards, and had enough today to order this baby!

Claire is just going to love all this.

Now there is actually another little house that goes with this set, but for the life of me I can't find it for a decent price. It must be a hard it find item, because it's not listed very much anywhere and it is much higher in price than most of the other assesories. But we can live without it.

I also got some of the smaller things for my neice as well. Claire has seen them sitting upstairs for my neice and has told me that She definitely thinks Santa should bring her those too.

That set looks so cute! I would have loved to have that at Claire's age, so I'm sure she's gonna enjoy it. ;)

Hi, I am Jen.
I am hoping to go to Disney sometime in the next year. My goal right now is to get DH to agree to go in Dec,(for DD's b-day) but if not, probably in March of next year. I thought I would start kind of a pre-pretrip report to start getting my thoughts together on things I want to do.
My DH had a hip replacement last Oct. and still is having troubles with it, so that has made it hard for us to book, since we want him to be well (and be able to walk) before we go again.

I start my intro in post 13!

I try to color code my posts. The blue updates are more Disney related, while the red ones will be more about life in general.

Its never too early to start preparing for a trip to Disney. I sometimes plan two years ahead. Especially the cruises since you get a discount on points if you book while on a cruise. I always book the next cruise and I do it two years ahead.

No it was always the 2nd week. Claire's b-day is the 10th, so I wanted to work it during then, and free dining as well....which starts back up on the 10th.
Oh..... sorry. I got mixed up. Glad you got to get the FD!

LOL We get it... you just don't like us! :lmao::lmao: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We had such a great time at 1900PF breakfast! Great character interaction and great food! We need to get back here someday. :goodvibes

Your plans are looking good! I sure hope you find out soon if the trip is a go or not.

AKL has quite a few activities to do right at the hotel - I remember cookie decorating being one of them that would be a lot of fun for kids. Plus, the splash area over at Kidani is fantastic, you'll find plenty to do there I'm sure!

Score on the 54 cents for the castle!!! I love doing those reward programs - I've been a bit of a slacker lately, but it's so easy to earn money with them!

I loved that kind of stuff when I was a kid too. My cousins and I would make towns of little people in our basmeent and play them all weekend together. Those are such good memories.

:welcome: To the Dis. Thanks for joining in. I would love to do a cruise some day. I need to come into a large inheritance to fund my Disney obsession!

I get mixed up all the time too...probably becasue I read so many PTR's. LOL! Your Experience at 1900 PF is one that sold me at trying breakfast.

I have read of several activities going on, and they sound fun. Plus I really want to explore and take pictures, and look at the animals too. When we stay at Pop, I do it early in the morning while Skip and Claire sleep in, but this place is larger, and unfamiliar, so I will probably need more time.

I can't BELIEVE it!

I ordered that Swan Palace yesterday at 5:10 PM....and today at 5:45 it was at my doorstep! I have NEVER gotten anything that fast from amazon before....especially with the free super saver shipping.

Did anyone else share a memory? Here's the one I submitted so far. I didn't get an email to say it was accepted, but a couple of people had "liked" it, so it must be...I'm assuming....Alot of times certain Disney emails don't make it to me. I can get all the offers, the adr emails and the ones with my conf...but anything from Disney store or movie clubs, stuff like that, never comes to me.

So here is the one I sent in so far. You'll probably recognize the picture.
