Except your grandson has been taught something that is factually incorrect. You're staying on someone else's property and in making the reservation and checking in you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set by that property, including that checks of rooms will occur. Being proud and promoting behaviour that is technically incorrect is how we've ended up with a generation of people that don't know how the world actually works.

You ever see a sign saying “at your own risk” at a business before? “You ride this coaster at your own risk”, “Enter at your own risk”, “management is not responsible…”? Those are meaningless, as is just about everything in a contract you sign, let alone one you don’t. I can draw up a contract saying I’ll lend you fifty bucks and if you don’t pay me back 80 in a week, I can take your car. You can sign it and it can still be unenforceable in court. The room checks can be in every disclosure, signed by every guest, but the reality is they are only allowed until a court says “we find for the plaintiff”. That’s going to happen eventually. It’s one guest away from being gone, one who has the time and willingness and cause to pursue it, who turns down Disneys settlement money bribe before it goes to court. I’m willing to bet sufficient cause hashappened already and been paid by Disneys slush fund to keep it from going to court. i read a story by one person that a male knocked and immediately entered even with a sign on the door and witnessed her young daughter naked out of the shower. Had that person pursued the case in court and others came forward to show a pattern of behavior by Disney, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now because they wouldn’t be doing security checks anymore. That you speak so assuredly about how people have no rights makes me wonder what abuses you are gladly taking in your daily life because you think you have to.
