D23 event questions

So, I have zero experience with this. Would someone please share any knowledge or experience that they have? Apparently most events in Nov are sold out but there is something on Nov 19 and 10th that is available. It just sounds like a boring conference? Is this something that is fun to experience? At $250 per ticket (0r $190 Gold), is it worth the price? It talks about various people attending such as Joe Rohde - do you get an opportunity to speak with these folks or is it just sitting in a conference centre while they give talks/speeches?

Even if we decided to attend, we wouldn't arrive until after the registration period is over. Would we still be able to register and attend for the latter portion of the event? Registration ends on SATURDAY at 1:00 pm but we won't arrive until probably 4-5 pm. We could go sturdy night and Sunday. Worth it?

If you can only go Saturday evening and Sunday I don't know if it would be worth it.

Most of this event will be listening to them talk about the different topics. The full schedule is released so look over that. If you come after the registration I would probably suggest not going unless you get clarification that you could still get your credentials and attend the evening events.

I've been to the big D23 Expo in Anaheim but that is very different then the smaller Destination D expos. I love the big expo simply because I can meet other fans and go to the show floor and see things from all across the company. The big one is like a Comic Con just for Disney stuff.

This one seems to be a smaller verison with Mickey's of Glendale and a few other exhibits on a small show floor and then the rest really seems to be around the speakers. There are a few group gatherings at this one as well and one of which on Sunday seems to be in a park.
