I bought a key ring with the plastic coil on it at DTD - flat WDW soft plastic logo on it - anyway, I attached it to the camera, and when I'm taking pics, I wear the bracelet and don't drop it. Then I have to decide what to do with it - put it away vs. keep wearing it - I'm not likely to put it down somewhere without just putting it in the pocket of my bag.

Hmmmm, pretty darn good idea!

Weather Update!

Swirlie Watch 2010!

We have a new one to watch...98L...but right now the models can't decide where it should be at all - One model even has it going backwards. This would be named Gaston, though...and we don't need him coming to Disney World. So...stay away!!

I can't believe we are HERE!!!!! One More Sleep!!!

Don't worry to much about the weather if you can Maroo.....just remember it's all in God's hands and everything will turn out as it's suppose to.

I know!!! Can you believe it, it seems like forever ago we were all talking about Liesa's restricted food supply for gingerbread houses in Krapastan and now she's back in the states and y'all are about to embark on the trip of a life time with people you meet here and love. Doesn't get much better than being at Disney with people you care about and who love it as much as you do.

Uh huh, sure! Jenb1023 Jen it was so great to see pics of you and your beautiful family! I hope the meet was as fun as it looked in the pictures, I bet everyone taking out camera's when the food came was a true laugh outloud moment for everyone. When I was on the boards lastnight and laughing at some of the funny moments on Liesa's thread I started telling my DH about the meet and how hilarious it was that everyone took out their cameras when the food came, and he said. "Yeah honey I know, your a freak and so are the rest of them, you people have got issues." He totally ment it in a good way of course.
I just wish we could have met up.

Gaston is already named...the airplane found the TS winds early this afternoon.

It got cooked up FAST>.... less than 12 hours from wave status to TS... I hope that is not indicative of his gusto or something.

We're thinking around noon on Saturday at a mall, but the mall has not been defined. It will be one with a Disney Store, and it could possibly be the Mall of Georgia? I think that's the one Dawn (punkin413) said was closest to her, and since she's pregnant and almost due, we're planning to try to accomodate her being able to come.

Sounds like great fun, but it doesn't look too good for me making it right now. DS13s Cross Country team has a picnic and family work day that Saturday around the same time, so unless everyone is planning to hang around quite a while, I doubt I can make it in time. Every army knows that every battle counts and every day can be the day before the end of the war. Every soldier hopes that each day will bring him or herself closer to their goal of winning the long fight he’s fought.

Some of you won’t be reading this until tomorrow, when 2 of us will have at long, long last claimed our Victory Prize- that elusive and so coveted Week o’ Freedom in Disney! It is scarcely believable to me that after 2 years of battling some, at times, unbelievable life battles, we are at this point. There have been struggles, loved ones afflicted with sickness, and even death; painful good-byes, life changing moments, and indescribable joys; moments to grow in character and strength; and yearning- LOTS of yearning.

In so many ways, this trip, for me, Soldier #1, is a culmination of dreams- the therapeutic rediscovering of myself, and of things I have repressed for over 20 years; a recapturing of my inner child, and a re-living of some very real childhood memories. A time to once again assure myself that I can enjoy the company of me, and the company of both new and old friends.

I want you each to know how much I treasure your friendship over the last 15(?) months while sharing my journey with you. You’ve made the waiting and battling something bearable. You’ve offered a listening ear during a very difficult time in my (and my family’s) life, and I deeply, deeply appreciate that. I feel like I have made some life-long friends who mean the world to me. Thank you.

And with that, I ask, Will all the planning pay off? Will going solo be all I’ve hoped for? Will the Hoop be as silly and inane as I remember? And will the Grey Goose slushie live up to its mighty reputation? Will I find a 1-rated bathroom?

So, without any further sappy oration, I’ll wish you all a fond farewell for a while. 12 days to be exact. To be honest, I really have no idea how long it will take me to get back on once home. I have a house to set up, children to get put in school, a house to remodel and sell, and a crash course in American culture. Oh, and I have chapters to write and photos to deal with- if I still have a camera. I am frankly frightened, and yet excited for the challenge. It is scary; it is overwhelming; it is an empty slate; it’s a great, big beautiful tomorrow!!!

Things are really falling into place now!!! RED IS STUFF DONE.

Getting very excited! In 11 hours and 40 minutes, I'll be flying high, and on my way!! (at a high altitude that is.)


The day before checklist- that would be TODAY. And I"m feeling rather efficient- even with going out to lunch with an old high school friend today. By the way, did anyone hear about that hostage situation in DC today?? Believe it or not, as I was sitting in the Cheesecake Factory, that was all going down less than 2 miles from me!!!!


1) Shave. (Yes, first things first.)

2) Do my self-pedi. Any guesses on what color I'm going with??

3) Retreive camera from G. Washington's ancestral home. Does anyone else find it sorely ironic that he was our first general?

4) Finish tip envelopes. Almost done.

5) Finish cutting out Mickey heads. 20 left.

6) Finish "guest book" for the door.

7) Finish back sides of itinerary pages. Almost done.

8) Do last load of laundry.

9) Re-pack.

10) Attach ME tags. Done.

11) Post last pre-trip thoughts.

12) Write a few thank you notes (dentist who saw my son for free) Now I need to mail them.

13) Program phone numbers into cell phone.

14) Call Maroo one last time. Once. Twice. Thrice.

15) Take a Unisom and still stay up all night because of pre-trip excitement. In progress.
