D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

I actually have a whole wardrobe of the belly dancing outfits. It's particularly enchaninting to watch "my belly dancing"!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

J/K!!! But they sell those at LOTS of shops here!! I see them all the time!

Now, as for that Bellini.... I think I could like the idea of wrapping my fingers around that!!

I take it those masks were magnets, right?? Not pins?? Either way, I think Bek will really like them! THANKS! for getting those pix for me. Nothing in the $4-5 range?? I kinda like those Christmas ornaments, but would rather have a glass keychain so I could see it everyday.

OK then, waiting for post #2~!

I know the pics are pretty big, but I wanted you to get the details of what I was showing you....

Here's more pics of what I saw for you as possible souvie's for you when in the WS.

For all those nights you want to re-cork your wine bottle because you only have one glass. :goodvibes I have these, and they usually come in many more colors than what's here, just keep looking around in the different stores while in Italy and you'll see them. Oh and they're made of alabaster.

These are more for fun rather than function, not usually the way I go for souvies, but thought I would throw them in any way....

OK, so there they are!

I did look in Canada, :sad2: sad pickens in there. There really isn't much to pick from there, the soap I think may have to be the way to go. That is unless you want maple....well, anything they have there.

Honestly I think the best souvie from there isn't even something you can buy, it's the pictures you can take from there...

Very cute tips envelopes you have there! :thumbsup2 I am glad that plunder is no longer an approved method of compensation though! But wouldn't it be you plundering Disney, I thought you'd be the victorious army? That might be a novel approach and would be great for financing future trips!

Well done for your run! Getting out in the morning is really hard, I know that. Fortunately it is no longer so hot here, so I can run in the evenings again. I realized yesterday that I really need to start to train for the 10k I want to run in October...

I'm excited for it to come in the mail! Joe and I researched Disney apps tonight.

Oh, you really ought to think about getting the subscription for touringplans because then you can use Lines and from what I have seen of it (I sometimes check it just for fun!) it is really pretty accurate in predicting wait times at WDW. And with the Allears newsletter always has a 30% discount for the touringplans subscription. :thumbsup2

I never do a thing with my hair except throw it up, so that's not so big a deal with me, but to get "itchy rear end syndrome" really stinks!! YOu know that really annoying thing when you back side is wet from every one who stands on Pirates or IaSW with wet feet right where you have to sit? My daughter is standing here saying that doesn't happen to her, so maybe it's just me? :confused3 But until it's dry, it's TORTURE!!!

I know what you mean! But I think the only seat where you have this problem is the one at the end of the row. And this explains why you have experienced it and your daughter hasn't: I guess as a good mother you make sure that you sit on the edge to prevent your kids from falling into the water. :goodvibes

We just got an e-mail from our company that said one of those murdered in Afghn!!!! She was part of that Medical Team doing eye clinics there. We are so, so sad- as we had met her a few years ago in Thailand. :sad1: It is getting worse everywhere- not even the US is as safe as it once was. One day it will all be redeemed :)

How sad! We heard about the incident here as well as one of the doctors was from Germany. This morning I just listened to the news on the radio and was wondering what was going on: the floods in Pakistan are supposed to destroy all their wheat harvest and they are the tenth largest wheat producer in the world, the forest fires in Russia not only make Moscow filled with smog (and many other areas, too), they are now reaching a nuclear facility, and Eastern Germany is going to get severe flooding as well from long rainfalls in Poland (so I guess Poland is having flooding as well...). :sad2:

Ooooh man! Here I thought I was bringing back something funny! I had no idea you would see it there where you lived! Oh well.

Now, as for that Bellini.... I think I could like the idea of wrapping my fingers around that!!

It wasn't to bad I must say, although I did try a limoncello in Italy also, I did NOT like that at all, waaaay to strong limon flavor! But if you were going to be there while it was cold the limoncello shot would be the way to go!! It would warm you up really quickly! I also tried the lemon slushie in France and I liked it more, but certainly not much alcohol and after a while it wasn't something I wanted to finish. You can only have so much lemon before you get tired of it. Here's a pic of the little shot glass of the limoncello...

Yes magnets, not pins. Sorry. And I didn't see a lot for the $5 budget.
Not sure a venetian glass keychain would be a good way to go, it would break before you barely had it! :scared:

By the way, I'm so sorry to hear about the lady being killed. I can't wait to hear your out of there, in Germany or here in the states I would feel so much better about you being in one of these places. :lovestruc

As for the keeping the bootie dry, I bought at the dollar store one of those hair wrap things that has the microfiber cloth, it was literally a dollar and I have two, PM me an addie and I will send it there so you can have it in your bag to take on the water rides and wipe your seat before sitting down. I think i remember reading on Tour Guide Mikes post about this and went out and bought one, he also says you can bring a wash cloth from the hotel room.... I didn't like this idea because they take to long to dry out, the micro fiber doesn't. I just button it around the strap of my bag if it needs drying out and the throw it into a zip loc for later when it's done drying. :goodvibes

By the way, I've done this for all three trips so and it's worked out beautifully, not a wet bootie in sight!

Love your tip envelopes! We always do them, too; the kids have fun choosing which one to leave each morning. :goodvibes

I loved the wine corks! I could seeing using one of those. The alabaster doo-dads were cute, but like you say, not very practical.

Yeah, you're probably right, pretty fragile for a keychain! Thanks for all your GREAT re-con work for us!! We are better prepared! And, I stand warned on the limincello. I like lemon, but am alraedy thinking about a Poolside Lemonade at the POR. I hear those pack plenty of punch.

Love your tip envelopes! We always do them, too; the kids have fun choosing which one to leave each morning. :goodvibes

What on earth are you doing up at 4 AM?? Are you getting up or sleepless in MD??

I actually have a couple for POP and even one for POR, and one for POLY- so we can be resort specific on a few of the days!! :yay:

I went back and added some comments on my last post, I didn't want you to miss them. :goodvibes

I miss you sweet lady, things are sorta winding down now, we're just a few weeks away from taking Ty up to college.

We will be the victorious army, but I consider Mousekeeping and our waitstaff on our side. But, you do have a good point about plundering for future trips. Sounds like what I'm already doing to our bank account!! :lmao:

I was surprised! Pleasantly so, in fact. Mornings are so hard to get moving. I really like to enjoy slower AMs with coffee and quiet before moving too much. Yes, I was wondering myself what was next. After you do a 5K, it seems like the next natural step is a 10K, and Disney has those. Hmmm....

Glad to hear it's cooler!! That's good news for you and me!

Yes, I try to protect my kids. THey are just like my BIL who like to stick their hands in the water- I wouldn't want them to get growled at by unseen CMs with hidden cameras. ;)

Yes, there were 6 or so Americans, and a couple Germans, and I believe one from England with some national staff. They of course, did not shoot the nationals.

By the way, I'm so sorry to hear about the lady being killed. I can't wait to hear your out of there, in Germany or here in the states I would feel so much better about you being in one of these places. :lovestruc

There are still hundreds of expats living in our country; definitely NOT as dangerous as the other Stans, car wrecks being the #1 killer here among foreigners. I am gearing up to do another list of "the little things about my Disney Trip I am looking forward to".

will do... one of my outfits is a pair of brown capris, and that would look rather disturbing wet.

I wanna go back and shop now. We tried to avoid anyplace that had glass on our trip. :lmao:

I can't wait to start! This trip there will BE NO avoiding glass shops. Last time I had to pass up Arribas Bros. due to sticky fingers!! Not this time.

:wave2: hi
love those tip envelopes. we leave in 8 days and now thats one more thing to add to my list. i love the dis;).
your trip is getting so close, so exciting

It's really no story, he just likes to splash everyone while were on it. Sometimes they use that annoying "keep your arms and legs in the boat at all times." spiel, but he still does it. How else is a guy supposed to entertain himself on that?!! :lmao::rotfl2:
I can't believe someone would do that!!!! :rolleyes1 (Well, maybe Glenn....)
TOTALLY reminds me, Tate needs a poncho!!! :scared1:
I guess if the splash was big enough, it might wipe the smile off Tate's face........and maybe an ear, a nose, a......

Nothing worse than getting your Taters wet!!!
I never do a thing with my hair except throw it up,
Is that anything like a cat with a furr ball?:confused3
but to get "itchy rear end syndrome" really stinks!!
Washing with some of your scented hand soap can help with that!:thumbsup2
I actually have a whole wardrobe of the belly dancing outfits.
TMI!!! :scared1: Would we have a picture worthy of besting "pumpkin head?"

Hope you don't do your "tennis shoe" look at the same time!!! :rotfl2:

Your envelopes are very cute! I once tried to do this, but it wouldn't print properly on my envelope...I'm sure it was a User Error, but I got so frustrated I've never tried again. I like your idea of just pasting them on. :thumbsup2 I just *might* try it for this trip.

THAT would be a fabulous picture!!! TOTALLY reminds me, Tate needs a poncho!!! :scared1:

:rotfl: ::yes:: !!!!!!!!

We could do splash together sometime?? If we have time after our nuggets. Nah, never mind, you'd have to do dessert wet. Maybe later in the week?

We possibly could still...depends on the time and how hot it is. Joe literally dried out in 30 minutes last September after Splash! We'll play it by ear. Or yes, perhaps later in the week....I would love to have someone to ride with! I'll be in MK again on Wednesday, September 8 for a while - LL is taking me on my first-evah HM ride! What are your plans for that day again?

I remember the jump to 5 minutes, and you're right, it wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. Keep up the great work!! See?!! only a few weeks ago, you thought you'd never see 5 minute intervals!! YAY for Brook!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks!!! It still totally tweaks with my head that I'm enjoying this. :lmao: And that I can do it...60 seconds was TORTURE. Now I actually look forward to my runs! The next jump is 8 minutes next week, then the dreaded 20 minutes straight...

We are so, so sad- as we had met her a few years ago in Thailand. :sad1: It is getting worse everywhere- not even the US is as safe as it once was. One day it will all be redeemed :)

That is so sad...I read what Magdalene wrote too about all the crazy things happening over there....sigh. :guilty: I will admit, since I've become a Mom, I'm completely out of touch with with is going on in the world - which is WRONG. I shouldn't be. I had no idea. I don't even realize what's going on HERE half the time. :sad2: Something I surely need to change. Joe and I talk about a plan, should another attack happen on NYC - but that's the extent. I'm looking forward to redemption day! But meanwhile, I really need to be a better solider!

Oh, you really ought to think about getting the subscription for touringplans because then you can use Lines and from what I have seen of it (I sometimes check it just for fun!) it is really pretty accurate in predicting wait times at WDW. Just last night Joe and I read about how good Lines was! We discussed getting the subscription and thought it would be completely worth it - especially since our next trip will be during a peak time (Spring Break), and possibly the one after as well. Do you have to keep up your subscription for the app to work?

And I didn't realize the AllEars newsletter had a 30% discount! That is fantastic! And a great discount for an already cheap subscription. Thank you!!!! :goodvibes

Oh and Millie, love all the shopping pics! I gotta scope out that jewelery from Italy a bit closer!

Yes, you need a subscription in order to get any use from the app. But the app itself is free. Actually lines is nothing else than the mobile website of touringplans at m.touringplans.com, I can even access it when I use Safari on my Mac, not that this is of any use, but it is fun! The app just makes it more comfortable to use. So if you get a one year subscription, you can use it for that one year period.

I am glad that I could help out with the discount! :goodvibes I think if you own the current book, there might be even a deeper discount available... Check out their website. They recently changed the design and it has improved a lot! :thumbsup2

Oh and on that topic - they even have daily park specific crowd levels now for subscribers!

We NEED to move forward with this game!! So I"m pulling a fast one on you all!!

YOU HAVE ONE DAY TO ANSWER THE NEXT QUESTION!!

Since it's so easy, you should have NO problem remembering this one from recent discussion!

What is the "Scent of the Trip" for the Poly portion of our stay??

That is question #10.

Question #9 was correctly answered by saying "a mini bamboo rice picker hat". Some of you added "thingy" which is perfectly acceptable. :lmao: If I can't find one of those, I may go for a chopsticks rest. But Tate sure would love that hat. ;)

NOW, QUICK- go answer #10.

I'll be tallying up points first thing in my morning, unless someone wants to go back and do that for me. :surfweb:

My answer is:

jasmine - even the colour white fits for it!

And just to show off:

Pop is orange and POR is mint!!

:rolleyes1

I think that this is such a great idea!! :thumbsup2

First of all - I LOVE the tip envelopes and Mousekeeping envelopes!! I love that you did that!!

I am just devastated by the news of that team. :sad2: So very sad.

And all of the news about what is going on all over the world - just crazy times we live in.

Liesa, love the tip and mousekeeping envelopes -- the tip ones are very original. :thumbsup2

Hey, you're finally asking questions from the TR that I actually KNOW where to look for the answer right off the bat!!! :yay:

My answer to the latest question in your own words is "I imagine you have guessed that Jasmine is indeed one of the “Scents of the Trip”. But for which portion, you may ask. Well, the only obvious portion, of course- for the POLY!!"

And BTW, I missed your update about the tragedy with that team of people. Such terrible news!!! :sad1: Will say a prayer for those involved, and their families! As others have said, I can't wait to have you and your family safely out of your current circumstances!!!
