D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Wow, your list of things you will/won't miss made me realize how much I take for granted. And to think I've complained about my inconveniences makes me very ashamed.

What special hard ticket event are ALL 3 of us going to that doesn't involve eating? (Hint, it's in a link, not in the chit-chat)

Is it Cirque de Solei?

The good news is I did another 5K just now!! I am stoked. Notice I used a period, not an exclamation point. Punctuation is very important, and can add volumes of emotion to the written phonemes.

Here's where my good news comes crashing down like a herd of rhinos. (did you know a group of rhinos is called a crash?- Look it up)

First of all, I ran 30 seconds SLOWER tonight than the first time I attempted a 5K 3 weeks ago. With more running! How can it possibly be that I can run more, have more training under my belt, and listen to some really hip-hopping music, AND STILL go slower??!!! It just seems impossible and took the outhouse smelling air right out of my sails. 45:33 in case you are wondering.

So, I get home, and find that my men (2 of them, 1 big enough to know better, and one too small to care) ate ALL the white meat off the roast chicken. And it was cold. As were the potatoes. I was miffed. I know, I'm a big baby, and a whiner- at least I have food. The starving puppies that took up residence outside my front gate do not; which further depressed me. I dare not feed them, it would make matters much worse.

I'm consoling myself in the last can of cranberry sauce we brought in a few years ago, and am drinking an entire liter of OJ with absolutely NO guilt, remorse or second thoughts. They left me cold chicken. I used ALL the ice too, because that's the kind of mood I'm in.

Now, back to responses.

Liesa,
Answer to #6 is
hmmm ideas are forming in my head....:)

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:to you and your family during this trying time filled with both heartache as well as excitement. May the Lord guide your steps as you leave his Good word behind you in the hearts and souls of people who before didn't know his love and May you walk in his love forever as you do His work here on Earth, no matter where that it as there are lost sheep looking for the Lord everywhere.

Beautifully stated! Thank you for putting things back into perspective for me!

Ideas are what WDW is all about! So much to choose from!

Ah very good about the Starbucks and Doritos! :thumbsup2

I think I am still good for a 6ish Corny Meet. The party doesn't start until 9, so we've got 3 hours in there. MSEP will start at 9 that night too. If you need to reschedule we can though!

I hope to get the final thoughts up today or tomorrow and then get that PTR started!!! I'm excited to share it all!

I didn't see that on FB! I stink about keeping caught up there. What a relief and an answer to prayer!!! :yay:

OK, good!! I didn't know what time the cruise started, so wanted to make sure you coudl still get to it!

YAY! We DO get a PTR from the Brookster!

I really only look at it every other day or so, and even then just breeze through looking for mostly stuff from my kids who are away. That's the only way I see any pix of them anymore. :sad2:

Why that would be

YAY for boxes arriving safely and  for goodbyes...

Yes, I imagine it will be well worth the cost!

Thanks, Cynthia! This "era" has been a long time in the making, but that didn't make it any easier.

sweet points for me.

as for the question i am going to once again go with reason this one, and pick....

Yes, and now you have 2! WOOT! Isn't Rosie generous!? OH, wait a minute, I'm the game master! Aren't I generous?? :lmao::lmao:

Wow, your list of things you will/won't miss made me realize how much I take for granted. And to think I've complained about my inconveniences makes me very ashamed.

Is it

It's easy to lose perspective, but by the same token, we get very jaded sometimes too. It's a delicate balance for sure.

By the way, how old are your girls??

And as a bonus, I’ve been doing some thinking on our impending move, and these came to mind:

10 Things I Won’t Miss From Here:

• Dodging spit, dog poop and other forms of raw sewage wherever I walk
You're gonna miss that?
• The trains crashing together all night long as they hook up
Those are some horny trains! :scared1: :rolleyes1
• Having to barter over everything little thing we buy, or for things bought from us
Could be a good thing if you get stuff for cheap!
• No peanut butter, brown sugar, popcorn or cream cheese in the markets
I'm sure after 10 years you don't need these items. :confused3
• The thought that if we ever had a medical emergency or fire, there would be no help available
:scared1:
• Going for sometimes days without running water or power
I'm shocked the bathroom blowing up didn't make this list.
• The sub-freezing temperatures in winter, and the unreal hot in summer
You should of been in CT this year.... same weather!
• Hearing the horrible stories of my friends who are beaten in their own homes by their husbands
That's not good. :sad2:

10 Things I WILL Miss From Here:

• Going to our local church, and seeing the complete transformations of people’s lives
Must be very uplifting to see that. :goodvibes
• The very cheap fruits and veggies we can get
I'm sure Mary would appreciate that too! :rotfl2:
• Seeing camels when we drive to our friends’ homes
That's what zoo are for!!! :rotfl:
• Sitting over cups of tea late into the night with good friends
Can't do that here?
• The fact that I can send my kids to the store alone with absolutely NO worry of them being harmed
I thought you told me about how they 'find brides' there?
• The simple, uncomplicated life with no pressure to be involved in every activity under the sun
I though that is what people do in Oregon? :rotfl2:
• A personal seamstress who can sew anything for a few dollars
That is a plus!
• Our team mate who is choosing to stay on alone in a tough place
Scary..
• Getting antibiotics without having to pay $30 for a visit to the doctor- usually for less than $5
Welcome to the US!

Cirque! I really want to make it here someday!

Congratulations on another 5K. Look at it this way, you've done two more than me. :thumbsup2

Men! Can't live with them, can't live without them. ;)

Oh yea... Liesa congrats on the run! I wouldn't be too concerned of a little longer time. Some days you will find it easier and other days harder. You are still doing it and eventually your times will come down! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I think I just got carpel tunnel from multi-quoting!

You're gonna miss that?

I should have underlined NOT. I am not going to miss dodging giant green loogies on the track when I run.

Those are some horny trains! :scared1: :rolleyes1

:lmao: Oops, an awkward choice of verbage there.

Could be a good thing if you get stuff for cheap!

It is, but usually it's VERY stressful- for me at least.

I'm sure after 10 years you don't need these items. :confused3

Really, I don't miss them so much anymore. But a cheesecake would be nice ONCE IN A WHILE.

I'm shocked the bathroom blowing up didn't make this list.

Lordy! I'd forgotten that. I think Freud would say I'm blocking that due to severe emotional trauma. ;)

You should of been in CT this year.... same weather!

Compared to other years, it's actually been very mild for us this summer- it's rarely gotten over 100; normally it'd be 110 or more for days on end. The Aral is filling up again, and they does have some affect- at least I think so.

That's not good. :sad2:

They say Islam tells them to. Whatever.

Must be very uplifting to see that. :goodvibes

It is!! makes my heart sing!

I'm sure Mary would appreciate that too! :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao: I'm going to take before and after pictures of her dinners. :rotfl2:

That's what zoo are for!!! :rotfl:

They probably think poodles and chihuahuas belong there.

Can't do that here?

Most of the time guests are gone by 10:00 or with the excuse that they need to get their kids to bed. Here they just ask for a blanket and it's no big deal. :confused3

I thought you told me about how they 'find brides' there?

I think they get stalked first and sort of KNOW who they are going to steal. It's not random. Plus, everyone thinks we are Russian, and a Blankistani wouldn't normally marry a Russian, so my girls would get overlooked. I was talking about my 8 and 12 year old. They are very safe here in that respect. I worry more about them getting hit by a car than getting kidnapped.

I though that is what people do in Oregon? :rotfl2:

Very funny. I'll give it to you we are more laid back, but there is still that unspoken expectation that your kids be involved in 14 sports, several clubs, besides church and study groups. It's insanity!

That is a plus!

Totally. If you show it to her, she can make it! :thumbsup2

Welcome to the US!

We just don't go. We have to be pretty darned sick to go, and I am bringing back a large bag of antibiotics and other meds. Shhh.... don't tell customs.

I could easily copy this (and the previous couple of posts) to your TR. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:That saying simply changes with whoever is saying it and why....

Liesa,
I am sorry that the men in your life forgot to appreciate the wonderful HUNGRY women you are and expectantly after running a 5 K but I bet they won't forget again when they go to get some OJ and cranberries only to discovered that due to their own pirate activities other pirates came in and made off with those items in a retaliation... pirate::laughing:pirate::laughing:pirate::laughing:

Not sure who it was the that posted about the brides and being kidnapped to become some men's wife but I believe the answer to why you aren't worried this will happen to your girls is because they are foreigners and therefor unclean...am I right about this Liesa or are your children seen as acceptable mates?

I know, I"m too hard on myself. I just thought after 3 more weeks of training, I could pull that time down a bit. I know this race course is going to have hills- it's Kentucky for crying out loud. I'm realistically guessing this race is going to take me closer to 53 minutes. :confused3

You're right- take that! :rotfl2:

I explained that up above just a little in my repsponse to Tim. They would be mistaken for Russians, and there is VERY little inter-racial mixing here. Their cultures and languages are VERY different, and don't mix very well.

Okay, Liesa....are you and Tim sending each other PM's about ignoring Kat's comments? I'm beginning to get a complex here. :lmao:

Nah, I was going to go back and multi-quote your whole conversation, but then got sucked onto Tim's thread. I think someone said something about him flashing around the pool? Needed to check that out.

If men would just put the seat back down, they'd be a heckuva lot easier to live with. :confused3

Have a good time. for Ana.

Come to think of it, I'm sure you can find a few more posts that would get her riled up! :lmao::lmao: :eek: :rolleyes:

Oh, I'm sure there would be MANY I could fine. Good thing I like you. ;)
