D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Prayers are being sent.

I will let you know what the doctor says.

Thanks so much, Kathy!! It's been a wild couple days- I went to bed ummm...taxed.

OK, I'll wait for news tomorrow on what you doc says. Glad she's close to work!

I guess 'Hey Girl' is better that 'Hey YOU!' :confused3:confused3

I am so laughing really hard right now, Tim. I just read the response but had forgotten what it was referring to, and I suddenly thought.... OMGOSH!! Did I call Tim a girl??!!! :scared1:

Then I realized it was about waitresses- or girl servers, or whatever is the PC term right now. :lmao:

I hope you dad makes a quick road to recovery.
Here is my guess:

Thanks, Barbara!! OK! Got your guess, but had to delete it here. but I did get it :)

oh Liesa! major prayers for your dad and that you find the missing box!

Still no sign of that box- :guilty: I guess I"ll have to refund some money if it doesn't turn up! :headache:

Prayers being sent in the direction of Kentucky and Blankistan.

Thanks, Glenn- sounds like Andrew's registration and orientation day went really well. Chem., History of Architecture, and Trig, plus about 3 military science classes are on his plate for next semester. YIKES!! I'd die!

But what is he most excited about?? uh-huh, his full monte meal plan, paid by me and you- via taxes. These are the kinds of things I DON'T mind paying taxes for.

He's doing great (we have this beard thingn going because he can't shave). He's going out again tonight to watch Andy's travel baseball team. I'm beginning to get a complex that he is tired of being home with me.

So Mark's sporting a beard- sort of. Poor guy! Is it because of infection prevention?? or ???

Just read about your Dad, praying for him right now! And praying for that box of books to show up too...! You seriously do not need this extra stress right now. :sad2: The enemy sometimes likes to kick us in the weakest moments, doesn't he?

It's so true- and I"ve really been feeling that way lately. Guilt of leaving ( I know this is wrong), stress of having to sell stuff for dirt cheap- when we really need the cash to get re-settled, accidents (my hand is still not even close to being better, illness, you name it... Yesterday a wind gust took out a limb on a tree and put a hole through our roof, as if.... :headache:

That is awesome!! We'll both be graduates in our Happy Place! :thumbsup2 That is if Joe and I don't have to repeat a week in there...last night-90 seconds went well. Our biggest problem is having to push the stroller. We don't have a jogging stroller, so it's REALLY hard to jog with it, without it, we both do fine. So we are taking turns and that seems to work alright.

I have been taking a couple weeks with each week. So, if I graduate by WDW or not?? I really hope so... I'm supposed to be doing a 5K the day after returning- so I'll consider that my official graduation. ;)

I can't even imagine doing it with a stroller!! :scared1: I can barely get my own squishy buns down the track!

What 1/2 are you doing-F&W? A friend and I are looking at the Princess weekend, they have a full marathon (ugh!) and a 5k. It's not until Feb. so we've got time on it...we very, very much want to run through the Castle. :cloud9: She can already do a 5k, so she's way ahead of me.

I don't even know what's available or when. I need to do some research on the various races. Getting my DH to agree to let me even go again in the next 5 years is going to be a tough sell!!

Thinking of and praying for your family and your dad. :goodvibes

Thanks, TK!! I need them!

I'm 21 updates behind. This may take a moment.

Your moment's up.

Made it through the conference report. Holy cow, I will never complain about domestic travel again. Okay, that's probably overstated, but I will at least take some satisfaction in knowing that it could be much worse.

Just think of how many police stops you'll never have had... it will make me positively giddy to drive down the highway knowing that unless I'm speeding I won't have to show anyone my documents. However, it's not a guarantee that if I DO get stopped I can conduct my affairs in English.. :rolleyes1

I just finished the scent postings. I haven't had time to read any of the replies, so this may have been pointed out. For me, the Pop scent would be vanilla. Everytime we walked through the lobby or Everything Pop, I SWORE it smelled like a vanilla milkshake. You'll have to tell me after your trip if it was just my imagination.

I almost went with vanilla, believe it or not, GB!!! It had some nice sale stuff too- so, see, I go wtih cheap, not necessarily perfect matchy-match. :lmao:

I still have a lot to catch up on. Hope to get back to it soon.

OK, take your time- you know where to find us. WELCOME HOME!!! IT's been too long!

Okay gotta share the GREAT News !!Judy got a new job, more money, Holidays OFF etcetc !! Small company, which is what she likes !!!I want her to have INTERNATIONAL wellwishes and Congrats and couldn't think of a better thread for that than right here !!Okay now I will catch up!!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Awesome news for Judy!! That's so exciting!

Oh gosh, Liesa. The chaos never stops for you. I truly hope your Dad is going to be okay and you find that missing box too

Thanks, Jen!! He's got a long road ahead of him!

Righty OH, Players!! We had 100% accuracy this first round. Congratulations!! I won't bother to post scores- you all know who you are. :goodvibes

That one was intentionally easy, and here's the answer:

2) I confess that I gag when I brush my teeth. Yup! There you have it, with nearly 100% regularity, I gag- out loud. If you really want to know, I come close to throwing up too. No, I'm not bulemic- AT ALL, but if the sink is not perfectly clean it tends to be worse. Neurotic I know. For all you psych majors out there, knock yourself out!

Still gagging. Every time. I also found out that several of you do it too- it's good to know I'm not alone in this shame. :lmao:

Your next question involves Soldier #2- (but even Soldier #2 is going to have to go back and find the answer!), and it requires a multi-faceted answer:

What was Soldier #2's Third Tenet of Touring? And if she breaks it, what would be her excuse??

Ok here is my answer:

maroo promises to not forsake the group too quickly when she gets bored with World Showcase. Her excuses are the need of hut tub time, the promise to herself to spend some alone time and the fact that the best of friends need a break from each other now and then.

Wonderful news and here are the international wellwishes and congratulations:

Herzlichen Glückwunsch und viel Glück im neuen Job Judy! :cool1:

Drive by post really quick-

Dad sliced not one, not two, but 3 Tendons!!!

Surgery is Friday in Louisville!

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that! I hope everything goes all right!!

Also, I hope no more catastrophies today (like missing boxes and falling branches!)! :scared1::scared1:

Sending lots of hugs! :hug::hug::hug:

Thanks, Glenn- sounds like Andrew's registration and orientation day went really well. Chem., History of Architecture, and Trig, plus about 3 military science classes are on his plate for next semester. YIKES!! I'd die!

Looks like Andrew and I would get along well! I had considered chemistry or math for my degree. And I love architecture. :thumbsup2 Not so sure about the military science, I guess those are required due to his program?

Little check-ins are my personal reward for every drawer or cupboard I go through- just about finished matching up and folding linens! :woohoo: I set aside our traveling clothes as well, so the kids don't completely destroy them between now and then.

Got your answer! So funny, eh?

I'm glad he found a good clinic to get it done in!!

So far, so good- no catastrophes yet. :yay:

Yes, the military classes are all required- one is history?? another physical fitness and another compass and orientation skills. All of which should be worthwhile whether he does the ROTC or not. :thumbsup2

Hi there...

Still catching up but wanted to send prayers for your dad's surgery.

I see question 2 is up so I gotta go back and get my butt in gear here. :rolleyes1

okay this is a little harderShe promises not to dessert the group toooo quickly if she gets bored with WS but a girl has to have some lone time as in a HOT tub!!

Little check-ins are my personal reward for every drawer or cupboard I go through- just about finished matching up and folding linens! :woohoo: I set aside our traveling clothes as well, so the kids don't completely destroy them between now and then.

Sounds like a great reward!

Sounds like a very rounded set of courses. We specialise much more in college. Once we have finished high school, we normally just read one subject (with a possible second with it), but don't have general courses anymore.

Prayers for your Dad, hope surgery goes well on Friday.

I'll skip this question, I got the first one right so that should count for something, but this one I have no clue. If I have time before the answer gets posted I'll go back and try and find said answer, but for now I must get ready for work.

It's so true- and I"ve really been feeling that way lately. Guilt of leaving ( I know this is wrong), stress of having to sell stuff for dirt cheap- when we really need the cash to get re-settled, accidents (my hand is still not even close to being better, illness, you name it... Okay, that kind of silly stuff like a tree limb putting a hole through your home just IRKS me. I'll be warring for you. Erg - our enemy is a jerkwad.

I battled the same junk while trying to move - having to sell your stuff cheap is a bittersweet thing, it needs to GO, otherwise you'd be leaving it on the curb, but you NEED the cash. It's not fun.

Ooooh, you are already signed up for a 5k! You are so good. Joe and I haven't yet, but we really should. I can't believe it's the day you get back!!! :faint:

The stroller thing blows. This morning I was supposed to get up at 7 and go running before Joe left for work. It's 8:42 and I'm still in my jammies. You see how well THAT went. :rolleyes1

My answer: Maroo's third tenet of touring is too not forsake the group too quickly if she gets bored with the World Showcase. Her excuses are the need for hot tub and alone time. Sounds like she needs a balance between the two! Does she even like the FOOD in the WS? That always motivates me to walk to the next country when I'm starting to drag....!

What would a military camp be without the various signs and insignias posted around on the tents and other equipment? How would one find their way around without clear information about who or what is inside those makeshift structures on a battlefield?

For example without this sign:

you might not know that that is the tent to find medical help!

And what if you’re hungry?! You certainly wouldn’t go here, unless you wanted the Bread of Life, right?!

cross.gif

Indeed, if you’re hungry, you’d want to head here!

0839.png

See! Signs can say a lot about what you might find on the inside of a place, and they are certainly VERY important in a military theater! And the Belle Battalion is ready to make sure there is no doubt about just who’s inside that room at the POP and then at the POR!! And I have some REALLY fun ideas that I think you’ll really get a kick out of.

First of all we need to let the World know just WHO we are…

Like this:

And a couple of close-ups:

MoreWindowDecs.jpg

CloseupWindowDecs.jpg

Inside the circle, here’s the plan… I want to pick up a cheap wreath of grapevines or twigs or something (whatever is on sale at the dollar store), and string some white lights onto it. Yes, that’d be fun enough, and would help us find our way home at night, but that’s not the REALLY fun part. And this is where YOU come in. I would like to find (hint, hint) about 60 Mickey paint chips in various colors (the kind that eh-hem, were being discontinued about 6 months ago ;)) and have each one of the Lady Soldiers write 20 wishes on them. One wish on each of 20 Mickeys for each of us! At the beginning of the trip it will be loaded with all kinds of wishes hung all over the wreath. It will be our Wishing Wreath!! Then, as each wish is “granted” we can clip it off and save it for posterity. Which would be good in and of itself, but won’t it be a delightfully childish, downright whimsically fun thing to come home each evening to clip off our wishes and reminisce about our magical days??

As a last touch, I want to find a little magnetic pad of paper with a pen and somehow put it on the outside of our door, so anyone who recognizes us (on the very slim, off chance) can leave their name and/or number for a possible Meet.

Who else has decorated their windows?? Let us see what you’ve done! I know there’s a nifty window decorations thread out there, that I’ve poked around in, but can’t find it this minute to post it. Show off your stuff, Soldiers!

WOW!! Posts 2 days in a row! :thumbsup2 You're more on top of things than me right now.

Make it 3! :thumbsup2

It IS added stress! And you're right I don't need it. Ugh!! Just glad my sis is there to help out- Andrew has (is there right now) an important university orientation he has to go to today WITH my mom (my dad was supposed to be there too). Sheesh!

So glad your Sis could be with your Dad so your Mom could still be with Andrew! I know Disney music always helps to relax me when I am stressed - my official prescription for you is that and a glass of wine!

Thanks so much, guys! It's been a really, really bad day. A really important load of books that someone paid over $1,000 for was sent out my door tonight, but ONE BOX IS MISSING!!!! Like GONE!! We can't find it anywhere!! :scared1:

Maybe Mickey himself will take my straight jacket off when I get there. :guilty:

Oh no! Has it been found yet?

Okay gotta share the GREAT News !!Judy got a new job, more money, Holidays OFF etcetc !! Small company, which is what she likes !!!I want her to have INTERNATIONAL wellwishes and Congrats and couldn't think of a better thread for that than right here !!Okay now I will catch up!!!!!

Congrats to Judy! :banana::woohoo::yay:

Drive by post really quick-

Dad sliced not one, not two, but 3 Tendons!!!

Surgery is Friday in Louisville!

Oh no - 3 tendons! How is he doing? I will be praying that surgery goes well on Friday.

Glad Andrew's day went well and love that he is most excited about the meal plan!!! Hopefully the food is good enough to make his excitement warranted.

Be back soon with the answer to question 2!

Wow, what a wonderful idea! I like the wishes on the wrath! :goodvibes

I can't imagine that you find the time to prepare things like that inbetween the packing etc. But I guess it is what keeps you sane during the process! :goodvibes

Okay, first things first. Not having a competitive bone in my body (right Glenn?) I will attack the contest question first.

My answer is: Mary promises she will not forsake the group too quickly if she gets bored in World Showcase. "Valid reasons" for doing so are; hot tub time, self-promised alone time, and the ultra popular excuse, uh reason, that even the best of friends need a break from each other at some point.

I think some couples have used that last one a few times too!
:lmao:

Okay gotta share the GREAT News !!Judy got a new job, more money, Holidays OFF etcetc !! Small company, which is what she likes !!!I want her to have INTERNATIONAL wellwishes and Congrats and couldn't think of a better thread for that than right here !!Okay now I will catch up!!!!!
Congrats to Judy!
Drive by post really quick-

Surgery is Friday in Louisville!
Oh wow, that is even more "wonderful" news you so badly needed to hear! More prayers that his surgery will go smoothly and successfully!

Yesterday a wind gust took out a limb on a tree and put a hole through our roof, as if.... :headache:
Oh wow, that is even more.......oh, said that already! This has got to STOP!!! You certainly have had more than your share! :worship:
Yes, the military classes are all required- one is history?? another physical fitness and another compass and orientation skills. All of which should be worthwhile whether he does the ROTC or not. :thumbsup2
DS21 has had to do his share of military classes also, required by his Naval contract that has helped put him through college. Only one more year of college and he gets to start paying them back! Still hoping he will get a few weeks before he has to report so he can make the trip next June with us.

Okay, here is my answer to question 2 . . .
I promise not to forsake the group TOO quickly if I get bored with the WS (but a girl has to have SOME hot tub time! ) But I also promise to capture some alone time on this trip - as I know even the best of friends need a break from each other at some point.

We have never decorated our door so no photos to share but I would be happy to supply some Mickey Head paint chips from HD - I will bring them to the DC Meet. :yay: I really want to DIS some more but need to get some work done at work today! :rotfl:

Hi there...

Still catching up but wanted to send prayers for your dad's surgery.

I see question 2 is up so I gotta go back and get my butt in gear here. :rolleyes1

Hi Pretty Lady! Thanks for those prayers!!

Yup! Back to reading! I promise the answer is there- in one of those links (psst. early one).

okay this is a little harder

It was a wee bit harder, but you did it! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great reward!

Sounds like a very rounded set of courses. We specialise much more in college. Once we have finished high school, we normally just read one subject (with a possible second with it), but don't have general courses anymore.

Interesting! I guess the American system is still focusing on getting a little of everything. But I think it's only for the first year or year and a half. IF it's still like it was 25 years ago ;)

Prayers for your Dad, hope surgery goes well on Friday.

I'll skip this question, I got the first one right so that should count for something, but this one I have no clue. If I have time before the answer gets posted I'll go back and try and find said answer, but for now I must get ready for work.

Thanks, Jessica!

It does count for something! At least a point! ;) It should be at least 48 hours before the next one, so you have lots of time! :rotfl:

Okay, that kind of silly stuff like a tree limb putting a hole through your home just IRKS me. I'll be warring for you. Erg - our enemy is a jerkwad.

I battled the same junk while trying to move - having to sell your stuff cheap is a bittersweet thing, it needs to GO, otherwise you'd be leaving it on the curb, but you NEED the cash. It's not fun.

Seems to press hard when you least need it! :headache:

I'm sure we'll be fine financially, but like you say, it's another irksome thing.

Ooooh, you are already signed up for a 5k! You are so good. Joe and I haven't yet, but we really should. I can't believe it's the day you get back!!! :faint:

No, not officially signed up because the running club doesn't have the info up. But, as soon as they do, I'm signing up. If they never do, I have commited to running one BEFORE I go to WDW!! I've already put on our ressie that I'm "celebrating a personal achievement". So, now I have to! :lmao:

The stroller thing blows. This morning I was supposed to get up at 7 and go running before Joe left for work. It's 8:42 and I'm still in my jammies. You see how well THAT went. :rolleyes1

You sound like me- DH is at the gym, and I"m supposed to be running. I dunno, I really should get out the door, it's not so hot out today!!

First of all...

Oh my gosh!!! Please tell your Dad that I am so sorry and that I hope he feels better. Tell him I will bring him some Cheesecake. And I am definitely praying!!!!

Righty OH, Players!! We had 100% accuracy this first round. Congratulations!! I won't bother to post scores- you all know who you are. :goodvibes

OUCHIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hug:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Thanks so much, Kathy!! It's been a wild couple days- I went to bed ummm...taxed.

OK, I'll wait for news tomorrow on what you doc says. Glad she's close to work!

So Mark's sporting a beard- sort of. Poor guy! Is it because of infection prevention?? or ???

I'm on my way to doctor's office now....will post results when I get back.

Yeah, sort of he's sporting a beard. I'm such a mean person. I told him he's got about as much hair on his face as he does his chest...which is ZILCH! :rotfl::rotfl: Seriously, he could shave, but he can't shave his neck area and he thinks it would look stupid. So we are going with the scruffy look for awhile.

Ok...here is my answer:

I said I would hang out with you guys at the WS, but if I decided to bolt I would use some lame excuse like wanting to get in a hot tub or have some alone time.
