D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

It’s time for the GRAND FINALE- the ONE, the ONLY, the LAST GAME in this whirlwind of a PTR! Can you feel the excitement mounting!?!

I’ve thought long and hard about what would be an appropriate game to top everything off, and it seems like a perfect cherry on top to end with a game that takes a gander down Memory Lane. 15 months is a long time. When I started this PTR many moons ago, I wondered, with GREAT trepidation about whether I’d be able to find enough stuff to fill up even one thread with. But you guys are easily entertained, and now we’ve got enough chit-chat and REAL stuff to make our last game fun for everyone.

On Monday, all the fun and excitement of

READY, SET, REMEMBER

will begin!!! Have you done your homework?? I hope this game will nicely help you remember the all-important details of this Mother of All Ladies Trips. In a fun and easy way, of course!

Anyone can play.

The rules are simple.

It’s meant to be just a cheeseball of fun. And yes, there will be prizes. But unlike the other games, this one may boil down to just how many answers you make (because the answers are all easily found)- staying on top of the game will GREATLY increase your chances of being top dog.

It’s all coming MONDAY- DON’T miss out on the party!

Oh bet I bet it was just as yummy!

They tasted pretty good on the gado-gado. The peanut sauce was particularly good tonight- just spicy enough. :cloud9:

i miss alot of peoples reports, i forget they start them, or dont see them in there signature, or whatever reason, but i seem to join in them eventually.

Me too, Dan. Me too. :sad2: I don't know HOW many weeks Mary had her last one up before I found it!! People really just need to tell me when they start one. ::yes::

I just saw I had a typo! It's Jesu! I edited my post. What was I thinkin'?

I know....we all follow a lot of the same threads and talk to each other wherever. It's all good!

Not sure I even noticed it. I knew whatcha meant.

It IS all good!

Skillfully, the chef slices an onion and stacks it by graduated sizes. I think the show would be much more fascinating if he nicked himself just once. I wonder if that’s ever happened.

:lmao: I am the one at the table gasping at every single knife toss. We've done teppanyaki several times (never at Teppan Edo though!), and it never fails. Joe just laughs at me. I'm always scared he/she will knick themselves...or knick ME!

Very, very cool that you made an onion volcano at home!

I'm excited about the game!! :yay: I have friends coming to visit on Wednesday, so I probably won't be able to keep up after that, but I'll try!

I've only ever been to Benihana's in Palm Springs once- for my prom. That oughtta give you some idea of how many centures ago that was. I can't wait for some shrimp flippin' fun!

I will only be giving clues every other day or so, so the game should last a good 3 weeks. I only have 4 left here, and my time on the Boards will exponentially decrease the closer we get to departure. SOooo.... I'm thinking 15 clues, max. I think you'll be able to keep up. ;)

........
And then since 1806 the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation had been dismantled and there was no use for the castle anymore. Nuremberg lost its privileges and became part of the kingdom of Bavaria, which then in 1871 became part of the German Kaiserreich, which finally was a nation state in the modern sense - and a federal state as well.

VERY interesting! You sure know your history, Magdalene!

and to answer your question about gado-gado- it is one of our favorite summer meals on a hot day. It's an Indonesian dish made of steamed veggies with rice and spicy peanut sauce. IT's delicious!!! Check this site out

Yummo Yummo!

Ooh, that looks all carmelized and yummy - I love onions!

Now, go WOW your kids!

Oh, the pressure!:faint:

Thanks for the compliment! I think I really got the idea of taking more pictures of details from other DISers. When you read a lot of TRs, you realize which kind of pictures you really enjoy and after a few trips the thousandth shot of the castle becomes a tiny bit boring... :rolleyes1

Seriously. I'm always looking for new ways to capture the Disney magic.

Yes, I always wonder why people don't realize that all this flashing in the dark won't help them at all. Smae for flash on dark rides. It doesn't only annoy others, but it doesn't make a good pic anyway. Try to find the delay option, I find it does wonders if you can't put the camera on a surface. :thumbsup2

I will let you know if I find the option. It could be a new era in taking pictures for me! Speaking of dark rides - POTC. TURN OFF THE FLASH BUDDY!

Actually, much of what you see in Nuremberg isn't really old - 95% of the old city center were destroyed in WW II (most of it in one night on January 2nd, 1945 - so shortly before the war was finally over... :sad2:) But the churches and the castle were only severely damaged, not fully destroyed.

Oh right... forgot about WWII and the whole bombing :sad2: It's really too bad. But at least some things were preserved from that time. It sure makes for a country full of history.

I remember from your TR that you mentioned that Bubba knew Germany. Where did she stay? As I told Christine and Mary, don't hesitiate to get in touch if you are planning a trip to Germany, I will be happy to help!

I can't recall where she stayed to be honest. I know she was in Berlin a lot. I'd have to ask her to be sure. Wow. Having a local guide PLUS someone who also loves Disney?! That would be A-mazing! I will definitely contact you if and when we plan a trip to Germany. If things go my way, it'll be within the next 2 years ;)

I think I met Jen there too.

Yes, I believe you did. It seems like so long ago now. How far we've come together  I remember how much of a DISboard celeb I thought you were. And how tickled pink I got when you started reading my TRs

Yes, you steal all of my favorite readers. Oh, and Marvali too. ;)

Oh so you're picking favourites now? ;) Yay! I'm one of Glen's favorites! :woohoo:

:banana: YAY! Another game!!!! I love your guessing games. And I love any chance to win another prize :goodvibes

Liesa, first off...I admit I skimmed through a lot of the chit chat, etc. (too many threads to catch up on after Mark's surgery). I love your trip to Germany--it sounds so exciting. I am NOT a fan of flying so I don't have a lot of desire to travel anywhere, but Germany is a place that I would like to see some time in my lifetime. I will be ready for the game on Monday.

I don't steal anyone, we all just meld, it seems.
Well, I guess being a small part of a huge crowd is better than being an afterthought......:crowded:

Oh, the pressure!:faint:

I think it's more the soy that caramelized- sure was yummy though!

No pressure, Rebecca- it was as easy as cutting an onion up. Really.

Yes, the game should provide at least a little entertainment value!

I"m surprised you're here at all, Kathy! YOu have a lot on your plate right now! And I know how it is with a lot of threads- it's so hard not to spread yourself too thin around here! Because they are all fun!

Don't let fear keep you from something you want to do!! More people die of lightening strikes each year than plane crashes!! Go for it!!!

Sophia's back!! Hi Lady!

It's been a busy place these days. Germany looks like a lovely place to visit, and we are very excited for our time there!

I know it!! 40 days from now, in fact, I'll be there!:banana:

I just can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I've decided to spend the weekend catching up on the DIS. Now that Joe is close to being recovered, I feel like I can catch up with things again. He is working from home now and will be going back to work the week after next.

I can't wait to meet you in person.

Thanks! I was thinking about Kathy all week and hoping that Mark's surgery went well. I'm so glad that it did!

I think we did decide on Illuminations and then possibly Jellyrolls after. I was sitting here thinking that I should PM you my cell number but then I thought...ooh, I didn't ask you if you have a US cell. :cutie: One year I was meeting my friend from Greece and I sent her my cell totally forgetting that she couldn't call me on it. :scared1:
