Aw man, poor Maroo! I hope she gets to feeling better. I was just looking at my pics from last June's trip and of course the first pic in the album is our DIS meet!
I am so interested in your updates about your trip. It is all so interesting. I think I would be "messing in my pants" a lot from the experiences you were having!
She is not. More below....
We've had quite a wild ride here; glad you're enjoying it along with me!
Oh no, I hope Maroo will make a fast recovery! I will pray for her.
Sounds like she's in for some more testing....
I think 45 minutes is still a good time! When I run 5k it takes me about 37 minutes in a normal training run. 5k in 30 minutes is really pretty fast for a normal leisure jogger I think. Anyway, it is more important to find your own speed anyway than hunt for a certain time, unless you are set on becoming competitive.
I am NOT set on becoming competitive! I am doing this so I can score a trip to WDW at some point to do the 10K. End of story.

I guess a 40 minute goal then is fine. I'll be shooting for that over the next few weeks.
Are you going to bring your running stuff to Nuremberg? We could go for a run along the river together!![]()
Proabably not. We are aiming to bring just a couple of carryons into Nuremberg, and leave everything else behind at the airport. Although running along the river does sound nice.
And I can tell you that I just bought a bottle of the raspberry flavoured wheat beer, it is in my ice box now! Along with some Fassbrause - which looks pretty nasty btw.![]()
The former sounds ok; the Fassbrause not so much. I can't exactly remember the differences of them, though. Need to go back to Glenn's thread and study harder.
Running a 5K in 30 minutes is right about a 10 minute mile. That's pretty darn fast for a beginner (I know some veteran runners who don't run that fast) so stop being down on yourself about it. You did great! Like I said on FB, most of us who graduate from C25K cannot run a 5K in 30 minutes. We can run for 30 minutes straight and then we work at increasing our speed.
Sorry to hear about Maroo. Hope she's better soon.
You are right. I guess I just wanted a baseline time to begin to set some goals. I have only done the ONE 20 minute run of W5, so I still have a ways to go with the C25K anyway.
I'll tell her you're thinking of her.
Poor Maroo!! she will be in my prayers for a quick recovery!
Was that a statue of Lenin on the top of that building? If so, why is it still there? I would assume that the people who have lived under that type of government wouldn't want him glorified...but that's just me.
It won't be a quick recovery sounds like.
Yep, that was Lenin!! Good eye! I was wondering if anyone would notice him. They still have a few of those around. The artform itself is actually really cool- one I"ve never seen done before. It is cut away metal, if that makes sense. I think he's there as a reminder of at least some of his ideals, but have not asked about it specifically. I wouldn't think so either, but you never know.
