CVS Extra Bucks - can I use them for anything?

The key is to combine with manufacturers coupons and other coupons you get at CVS. Then you just keep rolling them. After the many ECB offers over the past few days I increased my ECB total from $300 to $404 in just two days!

A lot of people combine coupons with ECB offers to "make money". For example, they had Colgate toothpaste on sale for $2 and you got $2 ECB back. But I had a coupon for .75 cents. So they "paid" me .75 cents to get the toothpaste.

If your CVS still has any stock of the free after ECB items(go to the CVS site and look at the Thanksgivig weekend sale ad), you could start tonight or tomorrow. You can even sign up for the card at the store and they will give it to you right there. Here is what you could do(just an example of course).....

Go in and buy 1 Right Guard professional strength deo--$7.99(7.00 ECB), one Crest Pro Health toothpaste--$3.49($3.49 ECB), one Aussie shampoo--$2.99($2.99 ECB), and one Aussie conditioner--$2.99(2.99 ECB) So you would spend around $18 before tax. You would earn about $17 in ECB's. Then you can use those ECB's(which come out like coupons after the receipt) and buy $17 or more worth of things with ECB's(if you want to keep earning) It will tell you on the receipt which things you have reached the limit on. You could go back through and buy 2 of the Cover Girl foundation at 7.99 each(7.99 each ECB's) and one of the $1.00 King size Hersey's candy bars(1.00 ECB's). Your OOP should be a few cents and you would earn about $17 ECB's again. You could go on and on until you reach the limit really, or until your store runs out of stock. Some people even buy stuff they wouldn't use and give it away to those who can. I now have 5 of the Right Guard Pro, and it should last my DS 6 months or more.......

THANKS! I did the Aussie mousse (sister uses that anyway) the toothpaste & one candy bar. I spent $10.77 and got almost $10 worth of ECB. I'm going to try to do coupons and start rolling stuff. We're not picky about most stuff and I LOVE the idea of getting it cheaper or free....

Do they still give them to you on prescriptions? We have quite a few and copays are the same no matter where we go....

They are just like cash so buy anything you want, except for.. alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear.

Really? I buy postage stamps all the time with ECBs?:confused3

That's their official list from the FAQ at CVS.com

Some individual stores also exclude milk and newspapers because they are items they buy from another source and sell at cost (like stamps).

You also get $1 for every 2 prescriptions you purchase. And the value of the prescription doesn't matter....say it's $0.00 you still get the credit toward ECB.

That's GREAT, we have around 12 a month, so it would add up quickly

Also, the biggest one may be -- if your prescriptions are currently somewhere else, and you transfer them to CVS, you'll get a GC for $25. This requires a coupon, though, and they come out intermittently. So keep an eye out for them. I had a coupon around here somewhere that I won't be using... if I can find it, I'd be happy to send it your way. (It does exclude certain states, though.)

It does take some time to figure out the ECB deals, and there's a bit of a learning curve, but it doesn't take too long to catch on. I'm one who has more time than I have $$, so I don't mind (I do my CVSing, and now couponing at the grocery, as one bunch of "time," and it's amazing how much you can save.)

Oh, and watch out. It's addicting. I didn't believe it when I first read the threads, but really... it is. Here's the link to next week's thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2020845

Good luck!

I think I only have one that would qualify for that. Because of Jonah's disability my kids qualified for the CHIP program, so that's one of those things that is excluded in that coupon. But I could possibly use it for my Birth control pills. I'll keep my eyes open

So the Thanksgiving freebies ad continues today too, along with their regular weekly ad?

Oops, I thought it went through the weekend, but now I don't see that ad on their website. Maybe it was just through Saturday.
