CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 7/29-8/4

I went this morning - I got the infusium 2/$10 and I had a bogo coupon and a $3 coupon off one - the cashier would not let me use both, she kept handing me the bogo coupon back saying the register wouldn't take it, but I kept explaining to her that I did get the two items, one is free, and one I pay for less the $3 - she didn't get it, had to call over someone else to override the register. Anyone else experience this?

Same thing happened to me this morning, and I for the life of me couldn't figure out why the BOGO coupon was rejected! I bought 2 Infusiums, tried to use a $3 off, and then a BOGO. Cashier would not accept the 2nd. She tried but the thing beeped. I was pretty disappointed, b/c I usually get my ideas from Pro-couponers, and everyone seemed to think this would work fine. :confused3

Question...

How many Olay Ribbons do I have to buy to use all my coupons?

I have:
$6 off 3 Olay (I have 2 of these)
$3 off 2 Olay (I have 2 of these)
$1 off 1 Olay
$BOGO free Ribbons

Should I buy 6 of the Ribbons to be able to use all the coupons?

Thanks in advance!:thumbsup2

I'd say 12. Six to cover your $6/3 coupons, four to cover your $3/2 coupons, one to cover your $1/1 coupon, and one free. So, just under $48 before tax, and you'd save $22. I'd say that it is worth it if you have some other coupons, but I saw a package with two 10oz Ribbons on clearance at Target yesterday for $5. So for only $12 more, you'd get almost double the product (I say almost since the BOGO may not work on the Target two-pack)...

Me, too. The cashier pushed the BOGO through because she couldn't figure out why it beeped; curious to see if this is a new trend (although I did fine with the Olay BOGO coupons in combo with $6/3 coupons).

Generally speaking of course. Some stores will vary but standard CVS procedure has been....

When the store is having a buy 1 get one free sale
You are buying 1 and the store is buying 1 - you pay for 1 and get 2 items.

When you have a coupon for buy 1 get 1 free
You are buying 1 and the manufacturer is buying 1 - you need to purchase the 1st in order to get the 2nd so the 1 coupon applies to both items, so if you are only purchasing 2 items then you cannot use a 2nd coupon towards the full price item. Sometimes you will get lucky and get a register that takes the coupon or a clerk who pushes through the 2nd coupon. You are again paying for 1 and getting 2 items.

When the store is having a buy 1 get free sale AND you have a coupon for buy 1 get 1 free
The store is buying one and the manufacturer is paying for the 2nd. Many stores will not let you use the b1g1 free combo in conjuction with their sales so that you get both items free - CVS does so you end up getting both items free.

Now again I say generally because some stores do their own thing, have their own rules, or you get lucky with the cashier/slerk/register. I have tried to follow the above guidelines because more often than not, that is the way the coupons have been handled. If I get lucky then I thank the coupon gods and move forward.

I can't wait until tomorrow when I make my little trip to CVS. I have a stack of coupons all ready to go!! I sat on my deck today, sipping my diet Pepsi, basking in the sun, and figuring out my plan of attack. Cleaned out my coupon holder (which, may I add, DH said is the size of "a small suitcase"..LOL) My mom and I were out shopping at Target yesterday and they are having clearance sales on food, cleaners, deoderant, etc...and I whipped out my "coupon holder" and she was like "What the he%% is that!?" She started laughing when I opened it up and she saw that it holds my coupons. BTW, I hold my coupons in a CD holder case...each spot is a section for something (ie: hair care, frozen foods, etc...) I agree that it is a little over the top, but I NEEEEEEED it!!!

For the Olay deal. The wording says "When you buy Any Olay Cleanser". Do you think it HAS to be the warming kind that is pictured? I saw a couple types of cleansers that were $7.99 (not on sale), but it would be closer to the $15 limit, so a better deal by a couple of dollars. Has anyone tried these and seen if they work??

Question about the Advil deal. It says Advil liquid gels 40ct $4.99. I have a $2.00 coupon of Advil liquid gels 20ct. Do you think they would let me use the coupon on the bigger size? That would make them $2.99 and a good deal.

can someone please post the $4 off $20 coupon?? My email will not pull that coupon up for some reason...thanks!

oh, I forgot to ask for the $4 coupon for skincare products... Can I use the regular $4 coupon AND the $4 skincare coupon?????

Save the coupon (as long as it doesn't expire) for the week of the 12th - Advil will be $4.99 with $4.99 ECB - so with the coupon, you'll make money!
