CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 6/29/08-7/5/08

When I bought the Physicians Formula Mascara today there were $2 peelies on them. Cashier also let me use a $1 MQ.:cool1:

today i was at cvs - i was purchasing the water, mascara and a newspaper - i was going to pay w/ecb's and about 1.00 oop BUT they would not let me use my ecb's to pay for the newspaper???? the cashier said this was the managers new rules - i said forget the paper then. Went to another CVS and did a similar deal w/another card - think i can complain w/cvs corporate or can Managers actually make this decision????

I bet they are using a cash system with newspapers there, similar to selling postage stamps. Someone probably brings papers and then picks them up and collects cash from the register for the actual number sold. Other stores could have a contract where they buy a certain number for a reduced price and throw away any that are left.

$1 off CVS water coupon & $2.50 off a $12 CVS product purchase.

That must be the new coupon to replace the $3/10 CVS Brand. I went to a store kind of far from me last night because they had a scanner/coupon printer and I only received the $1 off water and $1 off CVS sunscreen, but no $3/10. Then I read that others weren't getting the $3/10 yesterday.

My $3/10 was an email, the thing about the $2.50 off was it was only for CVS brand products.

I can't figure the machine out though. I had my card and my sisters all weekend (she was in from out of town and I wanted more SoyJoy for DD). I scanned both cards Fri and received what I described for me and just $5/25 for her. Did it Saturday and I got a duplicate of the 1st time and she got $1 off water. Did both again today and I got $1 off suntan lotion, she got "sorry no offers available". I don't get it. I will say I didn't use either of our coupons before scanning the cards the third time. Must be some system here.

sure is already flying off the shelf...I'm trying to hold onto my coupons until the 1st to get ecb.

here's what I did buy

VIVA -- 6.99 for an 8 pack (decent price in my area)
VIVA -- 6.99
cottonelle 4.99
hershey candy 2/5.00 (impulse purchase, but mmmgood)

coupon: 3/15
ecb:6

just under 15 oop -- but I would have paid that for my favorite paper towels

new exb = 4

coupons remaining:
have a 3/15 coupon that printed; 2 off skincare that printed and a $25 for transferred rx coupon

also updated my email address and got a 4/20.

I am planning my Tuesday trip. Plan on Sure, tampons and lactaid may get another set of paper towels too.

There must be a system, but I sure can't figure it out either. It used to give some people (not me) other coupons, but it always gave everyone a $3/10 CVS Brand and $1 off Divine cookies. A few weeks ago that changed to a $3/10 CVS Brand and $1 off 2 Gold Emblem bags of candy. Last week it changed to $3/10 CVS Brand, $1 off Gold Emblem water and $1 off CVS sunscreen.

It was worth it for me to drive to get them because I don't get any $/$$ coupons anymore, and one store I go to will take that coupon for anything. I'll still be happy with $2.50/12, but it makes me think that CVS is tightening up.

I just wish we would get scanners in my TN stores. Oh well I will be back in MD after next week and can use the ones there. Wish me luck.

can I use my ECBs in Orlando and Clearwater area CVSs?

I need help. I have an old phone number I had been using...but wanted to get the $ off by email so I signed up for a new card. But, they won't let me transfer the xtra care bucks that are outstanding.... my "points" have been transferred, but not my ecb!

I have $6 ecb and $3/15; plus the $2 off skincare coupon -- oh and I got a $25 transferred prescription offer.

My other card I have a $4/20 email offer

For those of you that have 2 cards, how do you use them. Because I essentially have 2 cards!!!

It's driving me crazy trying to figure out which card to use for which deal this week.

if noone has advice, I'm just going to plunge in!!!

thanks for any advice

I use 2 cards, one in my name one in DHs. The GC you have can be used on either card (they are not card specific). So I would use my old card to do the deals I was interested in and try to keep OOP low. Use your ECB and CRT. Then use GC to pay OOP.

On new card get some of the deals that are free after ECB, use the 4/20 plus manf. coupons and use the GC to pay OOP.

Now you have ECBs on both cards and can continue with both cards. Just know that ECBs are card specific. To keep mine seperated I bought 2 soft sided zipper glass cases in pink and blue. I keep all my ECBs, card, CRTs and last receipt in the pink one. I use the blue one to do the same for DH.

Believe me it is embarassing to try to pay with ECBs that belong to a different card than you had scanned. Experience speaking. I don't know how people keep up with more than 2 cards.

thanks for taking the time to explain it to me

can I use my ECBs in Orlando and Clearwater area CVSs?

Yes, you can spend and earn them at all the CVS stores (was in both areas the end of May). There is a CVS on World Ctr. Drive next to a 7-11 (closest to WDW) that doesn't give ECBs, but if you bring in an ad, and buy items that earn ECBs they say they will put the amount on a money card and they accept ECBs as payment (I didn't try this, but another DISer called them). There's another small CVS in the Florida Mall that doesn't give ECBs. There is a 24 hr. CVS on West Irlo that is well stocked, but not real friendly. There is a fantastic CVS in Davenport (closer to AK), down the Old Lake Wilson Rd. that is open until midnight. It's the best CVS I've ever been to.

Clearwater stores are nice, we didn't go to the one right at Clearwater Beach, but I spoke to a lady who went there every day and loved the store employees.

Can someone give me a school name, state to use? no schools in my area will get any credit - thanx

lisa

If no one has given you one, Woodbury Elementary in Woodbury, MN is on the list.

Great - just ordered!

I wouldn't want to give up that other card because it sounds like you are getting CRT coupons for it so I would use both, depending on what is on sale. I'd continue to use it intermittently until you quit getting coupons. There are a few deals to double-up on - this week I would get the Coppertone sunblock sticks on each card because they are free after ECB (if 4.99 or less), and I'd probably get the Physician's Formula mascara on each card too - those 3 items are over $15 so you could use your $3/15.

I'd do the same on the other card and add a gallon of milk to be able to use the $4/20.

I am new to the CVSing, but I love it so far! I have got some terrific deals! Last week, they had the toothbrushes on sale for $6.99 with $6.99 ECB. I went in three times and they were out all 3 times. I inquired about the raincheck and they said they could give me one, but if I used it after last week, I would not get the ECB. I didn't do it because I didn't really need toothbrushes. When they are free, I can put them back for later use. So, are rainchecks just for buy 1 get 1 and other similar type sales? Just curious.

Thanks :goodvibes

I think I'm going to get 2 more subscriptions to All You, the first issue I got paid for the entire year's subscription in coupons.

The current issue has a $1 Brut coupon for June's monthly deals, $1.50 Colgate for last week, and a $1 Right Guard for this week so that's $4.50 right there (plus all the other coupons that might be good in the future). Love that magazine :rotfl:

Each store can write them the way they want to now, some will put the price after ECB or write "free after ECB." Others will only write the sale price. They all used to write them for exactly what the deal would've been after ECB.

The reason why it's different in somes stores now is because people were purposely going in and getting rainchecks on every good deal that was out of stock on Sunday and then going to other stores (or waiting for the truck to come in that same week) and using the raincheck to get the item free, and also earned ECBs on the same item (doubling up). Your store probably got burned by someone doing that so they had to change the way they write them.
