CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 6/24-6/30

OK guys - I did it! My first trip to CVS was this morning (not first time ever but first time attempting to search for the deals!) While it was somewhat of a fiasco, I'm feeling confident that it was a great start and I can only do better from here!!! Shannon was kind enough to send me the link to a few Q's that I was going to try to use, but for multiple reasons, the majority didn't work for me (computer/printer issues). So I re-worked my plan for coupons that I had and here's how it went....

Tylenol sinus - found a big box (48 ct) that was 9.99 on clearance for 2.50 (though I didn't know this at the time & it caused me some problems later)
Mylanta - $5 - $3 off coupon = $2.00
2 x colgates - $5.98 - (2) $1 off coupons = $3.98
2 Johnson's baby care products - $5.98 - (2) $1 off coupons = $3.98
motrin- $2.50
Used the $4 off $20 coupon as well.

I spent a total of $10.73, and I felt like it was a good start for me. :-)

Now came the problems - when I got my receipt I found that the clearance tylenol was not registering as a part of the $10 I needed to spend to get the $5 ECB....it was the right kind but I think because it was on clearance it was not in their system as a qualifying purchase. The cashier kept trying to tell me that I still needed to spend another 2.50 to get the ECB - but I showed her that I had already spent $10 (tylenol, motrin and mylanta). She talked to the manager, then she called corporate and the end result......

I spent $10.73
Got all of those products.
Got my $5.98 ECB's for the 2 colgates
Got a $5 gift card for the tylenol/motrin/mylanta ECB's that didn't print
And also got a $5 gift card from the manager for "being inconvenienced".
HA!!!! Here I was feeling like a pain in the butt (I was very nice about it of course), and they gave me money for it!! :)

Now I'm dreaming about what all I can do with my $15.98

I'll be under the $1.00 mark soon guys!!! Thanks for all of your helpful information! (This is fun :yay: )

ETA: OH YEAH!!!! Almost forgot....I got a rebate coupon with the Mylanta that will give me $5 back!! DH is in awe of the whole CVS thing. :-)

Great Job Ekball! I'm so proud.

I have got to grow some cahones and start pulling the manager over. I went today THINKING that the problem with my nutrition deal would be fixed. It wasn't. I also purchased 3 of the RGX sprays...no ECBs. I called about the nutrition deal and she said corporate still had it and hadn't done anything with it. EGADS! That was last FRIDAY! So for the hundreth time I was told to take care of the problem at the store. Which didn't make my complaint about the RGX spray go over well. "MA'AM YOU MUST TAKE CARE OF THIS WHILE YOU'RE AT THE STORE!" Ok ok! My problem is, the RGX spray is an unadvertised FREE after ECB..how do I prove I should have received it? "well you just have them call us!" Sounds an aweful lot like what I was doing right then and there...but her point was they could have given me a gift card instead of me having to call back in 48hrs to get her to do it. (which is what I'm doing now). I said tell me this...is the RGX a limit 5 or not? B/c if not I will simply return the 3 sprays I bought today, no biggie. She said "I just got an email about that.....yes, it is now limit 5" So if any of you want more of these sprays, grab a manager when there is no line, ring them up and when the ecbs don't print, ask nicely for them to call corporate!

Ugh...I switched from Walgreens to CVS just b/c I HATED calling to complain about rebate totals be CONSTANTLY wrong...now I'm having to call and complain...put on hold for 48 hours...call and complain..then wait 48 hours for the ECB to generate. Sheesh. Mabey walgreens isn't so bad....NAAAAAHHHH!!

I agree- it can be a headache. I had to call about something (last Monday)- got told it would generate in 48 hours. Waited 72 hours (Thursday) and went back. Still did not generate. Called again on Thursday and was told it was going to corporate to be fixed and they would make sure this time- try again in 48 hours. Again, waited 72 hours and still not generated on Sunday. Called Sunday and spent 5 minutes navigating a touch tone menu only to recieve a recording telling me to call back on Monday. Called on Monday. Was told it would generate in 48 hours. Tomorrow will be 72 hours again. I am almost afraid to go because I think I will blow if it doesn't generate. They should just say "no" if they aren't going to do it.

This is what I got last night...

I had $12 left on a gc from a prescription so I started out buying children motrin/tylenol for $11 and got the $5 ecb plus I got 2 $3 off of $15 on the same receipt, weird but cool! So $0 out of pocket there.

From 3 other transactions (.61 cents out of pocket total) I got the following:

4 12pk pepsi
1 All Small & Mighty
1 Colgate Fresh Burst
3 dimatapp children
3 huggies cleanteam bath wash
2 boxes of huggies washclothes
1 pediacare nighttime cold childrens liquid
1 48pk tylenol sinus pills
1 cutter insect replent spray
1 can of GoodStart formula
1 box of nutripals
2 bottls of Gerber toddler juices

And I still have $13 in ecb's left to use still.... gonna go back and get my other 4 toothpastes for sure.

has anyone gotten the umbrella yet and does it (9.99) count towards the total, trying to use a 10/50 crt I have.

And I'm wondering if you went back and spent that $2.50, if it would then generate another $5 since it would now think you just completed the deal. :rolleyes1

The RGX Sprays are now a limit of five but we're supposed to have the manager call corporate? Umm, that should go really well.... How exactly do you ask the manager to call corporate to confirm they should generate an ECB since it's not in the flyer?

Oh, I don't think I can do it... has anyone done this?

Well that was the point I was trying to make to that lady! Its a "secret" deal..unadvertised...thats why I didn't ask for credit while I was there...where's my proof!?? And her response is "oh, you just have them call us."

Great.

My name is Beth and I have a CVS problem. I am on such a high right now following my trip to CVS that I actually thought to myself as I walked to the car...gosh, I wish I knew someone from the CVS threads well enough to call them and brag about my purchases! That's. just. wrong. I have a problem. :lmao:

I FOUND THE BURT'S BEES SAMPLES!!!

I finally found them at the CVS at the mall. They were 50% off ($1.25). I talked to the manager and said that I had two friends in New England (because I remember one of you is from NH and another from Boston) and their CVS stores already had them for 90% off. The manager said, "well, all they do is take up space, so I'll sell them to you for 90% off." I asked him if he was sure because I was "going to stock up!" He said, "go for it!" I bought 80 items - 10 each of the foot cream, hand cream, cuticle cream, milk & honey lotion, shower gel, peppermint soaps, shampoo, and conditioner. I plan to make 10 gift baskets for my aunts and female cousins for Christmas for $2 per person plus the cost of whatever little container/basket/bag I put them in. I AM SO STOKED!!!

Just had to brag with my CVS friends.

BTW, I know I don't post that often, but rest assured I read it all and try to contribute my shopping plans when I think they might inspire others.

Much love to the CVS thread folks! :hippie:

What is this RGX spray you all are talking about? Details on size and price?

Also, are there coupons for Motrin IB out there? Isn't that what you have to spend $10 on to get a $5ECB?

The RGX is like body spray I believe...made by the same company as Right Guard. There are a few things you can buy for the medication deal: MOtrin, St. Joseph's Asprin stuff, and some Tylenol products. You can also buy the VIACTIV Multivitamin Glides. Good luck!! Oh, and yes, there are Motrin coupons.
