Cvs deals 4/5-4/11

I'm still all confused when it comes to ECBing, I've only done it a couple of times. Right now we are on an extremely small budget and I need face powder and concealer, can someone recommend the best route for me to take? If I find any manufacturer coupons or CVS dollar off coupons that I can use with my purchase (and where might I find those :p) does that deduct from my total before the ECB's are given out or do they go by the retail price of my purchase and not count the coupons? Thanks!!!

If your store has a price scanner/coupon printer, scan your card and see what you get. I got a $10/20 beauty care items today.

my store did not have much in the way of baskets or grass either. Probably about 15 baskets and 10 pieces grass. Also when I bought the grass I did not get the ECB and did not realize till I got home. Don't know what was up with that.

My Easter grass ECB's didn't print either, but luckily I realized it and they printed them manually (on the ONLY bag of sale grass in the store) so it must not be isolated to just my store (which just opened today).

I hit the CVS motherload today!!!!

I went to CVS to pick up my prescriptions and get some Diet Cokes. Then I happened to look down one of the aisles.... they had stuff for 90% OFF!!!

Here's what I got:
3 12-pks of Diet Coke -- $11.00
1 photo storage box -- $.59 (originally $5.99!)
- coupon for free 12-pk (from Coke Rewards) -$3.67
- $8.00 ECB's
---------------
$.12 OOP
and $3.00 ECBs

Then I got a whole cart full of the clearance stuff:
A set of 3 Sunbeam non-stick cookware pans and lids-- $1.49
2 Sterilite plastic CD storage cubes -- $.49 each
2 small Sterilite plastic flip-top storage thingies -- $.45 cents each
1 4-pk of scrubby sponges for dishes -- $.09
6 boxes of ziploc-type bags (sandwich, snack-size, and quart) -- $.09 each
A quilted "Vera Bradley"-type purse -- $4.99
A quilted "Vera Bradley"-type duffel bag -- $4.99
A hardback copy of Michael Crichton's book "Next" -- $1.99
A nice pair of "spa slippers" -- $1.99

How much for all that? Well after using my some ECBs, I paid $3.81 and the stuff was falling out of my cart!!!:rotfl:

Then after putting all that stuff in my car, I came back and got:
2 Huge Sterilite lidded storage totes -- $2.75 each
2 "daylight" floor lamps (I am a crafter so these are perfect for me) -- $6.75 each
2 sofa servers (the tray table things that have the legs that go under the sofa and you can put food or drinks or a laptop on it/ made of solid wood) -- $3.75 each
A wooden coat rack -- $3.75
A wooden jewelry holder (opens up and can hold full-length necklaces!) -- $1.49
A wooden wheeled cart (to put a printer on) -- $6.75

So I spent roughly $40 today and filled my trunk and backseat!!! My husband thinks I am NUTS!!! I knew that only y'all die-hard CVS'ers would understand!!!
:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

The Easter grass at my local store was mixed in with other grass that looked almost identical except the picture was different on the front. Maybe it had to be the type with the bunny on the front to get the ecb even though both types were .79? I made DH go back with me tonight to get one of the computer chairs since they were marked down to $12.49 and, apparently, they are actually 90% off in my store. It was only $4.99! That was a nice suprise:thumbsup2

At first I thought, "Man, she must have a big CVS. They have furniture!" :lmao: Then I read about the computer chairs. Duh!! I couldn't figure out why CVS was selling furniture!!!!!!!!!!

Maggie

Where did you read about the computer chairs? None of my CVSs have any type of furniture. What are they like?

The computer chairs are black faux leather executive style. They were in a red and white carton (some assembly required). Originally $49.99. My CVS is kinda small and they actually had 3-4 of them as well as some of the other "furniture" type stuff.

I had a great CVS and Walgreens day! I used to only do Walgreens but CVS is so much easier and more coupon friendly.

I got:
3 Jumbo packs Huggies 30
-$18 Q's (I had a coupon for a free pack because of a defect in previous pack that the manager rang up as $12 instead of $10, plus 2 $3 IPs)

2 Excedrin Express Gels
-$4 IP Q's

1 Colgate Maxfresh
-1 IP Q

1 Skintimate

I used $15.49 in ECB's and got $15.49 in ECB's back.

OOP $3.54

:cool1::cool1:

Not bad considering 3 packs of diapers at Walmart would have been $30 alone!

Hey ladies... I know I was MIA last week. But I did well today!:goodvibes

Was able to get the baskets/grass and skintimates on my cards. Very exciting. :cheer2: Ready for the bad news?:charac2:

MY FAVORITE CASHIER HAD HIS LAST DAY TODAY!!! This was our conversation.
:chat:

me: "see you next week!"
him: "Well, you won't. Today is my last day. I have worked here 2 years and that's 2 years too long!"
me: "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?????!!!!"
him: "don't worry, they'll still take your coupons if they're legal."
:rotfl:

Oh it is so sad! :sad2:
well, that's all for now. happy CVSing!

Thanks Flaky!! Sorry I have been MIA.

Puffkin, I loved the article, it was really well done and I'm forwarding it to everyone. Pictures were excellent too!

ShiPooOwner, my husband took me to the Maryland store tonight and OMG, what a change there in staff! The night manager (I think) says to me, "do you want to see all the deals I just put out?" She leads me to an area where half the stuff was 90% off and the other half was 75% off. I got a telescope for $1.49, 4 Vera Bradley knock-off duffle bags for $1.99 each (gifts), and a wooden charging station for $2.49. First we went to Mahtomedi and they had baskets and Skintimate, but no grass. Then we went to Maplewood and they had grass and Skintimate, but no baskets. We have the district manager from the west side of the cities now and he said he was going to make Maryland friendly last November when I met him and he sure did. I'm glad you never got to see how bad it was over there before.

I got the strangest $/$$ coupon ever at a scanner, a $20/100. I have no clue what I can do with that.

I have less than a week and I will be able to join the land of the living again and go back on medication. It's terrible how I've become so physically dependent on it. I can't get my blood pressure higher than 65/45 now after having been off for 2 mos. and my joint damage has become much worse. I get to take a short vacation with my mom to San Diego and Catalina Island pretty soon so am looking forward to that, haven't been anywhere alone with her since 1982.

I've been keeping my eye on those Vera Bradley type bags. I'll go see if mine are on sale tomorrow.

LanaJae: I got a $15/$75. I think that's a weird one too. I can't imagine getting my total up to $75! I could try...;)

Please feel better! I'm so sorry to hear that you're not doing well. Enjoy your little get-away with your mom.:goodvibes

I got the 15/75 too. That's a lot of ECB deals to get a low total. It would have been nice for the Thanksgiving sale or the one right before Christmas though.

LanaJae, I second the hope you feel better soon message :wizard:.

Hope your feeling better soon!

I got a 15/75 coupon and it was quite hard to get up to $75.00 even though i got tons of stuff in the 75% off like i posted earlier!

Thanks for checking in with us, LanaJae. We were worried when we hadn't heard from you for so long. I hope once you get back on the meds you can get your energy level (that's a heckuva low BP!) back and feel a ton better.

I haven't been to any of the stores yet for this week's sales. I have a hair appt. in Maplewood this morning and lunch with friends in W. St. Paul at noon, so I will hit those two stores today and see if anything is left. Thanks for the heads-up about the Arcade/Maryland store's clearance items. I'll try to squeeze that one in too. Glad to hear their goal is to be more customer friendly. They seem to be achieving it!

$20/100~~CVS seems to be upping the ante. I like $5/15 myself! :dance3:

And PUFFKIN - congrats on the article! Nice job!! :thumbsup2

I went to CVS last night and got 3 packs of coke, the skintimate gel, 2 intuition razors, 2 excedrin and the colgate toothpaste. Paid cash for the coke, but only $1 for everything else after coupons and $9 in extrabucks. Got back $8.49 in extrabucks and got $11.50 for DH's winter spending!

The funny thing about that is I just got his card 3 weeks ago. But I think it was a card they kept next to the cash register and used for people who didn't have cards because the first time I used it it said my spending was around $500! So they gave me the quarterly extrabucks on it! Woohoo!
