CVS 11/15-11/21 Weekly

If you have enough ecb, you should be able to use it to get a nice discount on the Thanksgiving sale. Do you have any coupons from past inserts? If you do, you can use it this week with the Cover Girl ($10 +13) and the Revlon deal ($15), that gets you to $37, then buy a bunch of Trident with the B1G1 coupon, and fill in with a pack of diapers. If you have the coupons (Cover Girl in the P&G, Revlon from this weekend, not sure of the Trident, but recent), you should get your diapers pretty much free. :) and all the ECB back. My youngest just recently toilet trained and I STILL do diaper deals in my head.

It seems even the biggest ad has leaked, and we still haven't seen the complete Black Friday CVS ad!!! Corporate is so annoying!! I mean, their sale starts the same day the flyer comes out, so if they hold it so tight, we won't have time to get our coupons in order:confused3 Anyone seen anything more detailed the small list on iheart?

I have been tring to find the complete ad:sad2:I will post it as soon as I can. I asked the manager it he had one yet..hint hint:rolleyes1 He said.."Are you kidding? Its way too early:mad: We all know that is not so:laughing::laughing:

Thanks for trying Flaky! You'd think they want to leak it to get some word of mouth going. I might try Walgreens - I saw a post of some very easy RR rolling (was it here? I can't remember, but thanks!)

Infusium 23 4.99 get 4.99 RR
Aquafresh 8.2 oz - 1.99 get 1.99 RR
Dove smooth deo - 3.99 get 3.99 RR (there is a printable and 10/4 RP, I think)

Then 2nd transaction
Johnson's meltaway bodywash 5.99 get 5.99 RR (there is a printable)
Nivea men shave gel - 2.49 get 2.49 RR (10/11 RP)
Right Guard solid - 2.49 get 2.49 RR

I'm still trying to figure out the filler requirements
but supposedly it will work over an over.

OK I think I only had to spend 14.50 to get the deal. I wnet today and bought oneof the 88 cent bags of candy and kingsize M&Ms. THe bottom now says 16.37 and 12.63. I guess my dreams of $10 more of ECBs was just a dream!!

I need to do the glad deal. Those will make good last minute gifts.

So I went on Sunday and tried to do like you ladies do and while I did okay I don't think I did quite as well.

In all I spent $139 before my coupons including a $10 off $50 cvs coupon and $19 in ECB and ended up at $58 OOP got $23 of ECB; which doesn't seem nearly as good as you guys do but I'm watching and hopefully learning.

It seems to work better if you do many smaller trasactions, it lowers your OOP because the ECB's you recieve one transaction can be used to pay for the next transaction.

I'm still learning CVSing but there are many wonderful disers on here who are so helpful!!! :flower3:

Congrats on starting! Soon you will have a closet full of CVS items!!! :rotfl:

I always over look these CVS threads...but I think I'm going to be a CVSer freak! I always run up to CVS...it's like 2 mins away! I spend tons of $$ there...always get coupons back and I never use them! :( What a waste. And I spend about $20 everytime I go in that place! :P

That seems like a good start! My best advice is to not get caught up in the hoopla and try to do every deal. Personally, I only do the deals that are free or moneymakers after the coupons I have. There are some things that I will pay money for (either OOP or by losing a few ECB) - paper towels, toilet paper, coke, movies, if I can get a good deal. I won't pay for deoderant, toothpaste, shampoo (except Aussie for my DD), toothbrushes. If its not free, I pass on the deal because there will be a free or MM deal soon!

I'm not sure what you bought in your transaction, but here is an idea about what I might have done with a $10/$50.

Covergirl makeup $13
Covergirl blush $10
Revlon $15 (as close to $15 as you can get it, so like a $5.99, $5.99, and $3.49 tool or something)
Glade Scented Oil candles 4 for $12
-$10/$50
-$10 covergirl blush coupon
-$2 revlon coupon
-$2 revlon coupon
-$1 revlon tool coupon
-$2 x 4 = -$8 glade peelies
=$17

Then pay with part of your $19 ECB (you need to work it out so you have the right combo of ECB though, so you don't lose any). You get back $10 ECB for the Cover girl, $7 for the Revlon and $4 for the Glade. That should be about a $4 MM for you.

Then, use those ECB to buy the other items you had on your list, etc.

The goal is to at least get back as many ECB as you spent with paying the least OOP possible. The best way to do this is to keep your transactions as close to the amount of your $/$$ as possible (for example, if you had a $10/$50, try to get as close to $50 as possible without going too much over. If you had a $5/$25, get as close to $25.) And then break your transactions into multiple transactions with each one being as close to the $/$$ as possible. Of course, this only works if you have $/$$ coupons!! Not as many now as there were before!!!

I have to admit I didn't do the CG deal as I don't wear makeup.:hippie: I did the revelon but bought three tools as I needed to replace my clippers and a pair of scissors I broke. DH doesn't like glade so I don't buy it (thinks it's environmentally unfriendly). I also bought the Axe as DS lives for the stuff and needed a new deodorant for school. I did do the Duracell with a $1 off coupon and the Energizer's again with 3 - $1 off coupons and the candy which I bought dove bars for making candy and whoppers for DH for his B-day. I also bought 2 jars of Ragu w/a $1 coupon toward that deal but they only had two so I still have to go back to see if I can finish the deal - maybe buy the PB and the Mayo and donate it. Oh, and the Lindsay Olives with a $1 coupon. There were a few other items which I didn't buy because although I had the coupons to make them free (the energizer hearing aid batteries) I wouldn't use them so it seemed like a waste and a clutter builder.

Maggie gave GREAT advice for all the newbies! The key to being good at CVS is being discplined not to jump on every deal! I too only do the MM, freebies or things that are horribly cheap....like if razors come down to a quarter or something like that. 50 cents is way too much for toothpaste :lmao:

For instance the Covergirl Deal this week I skipped. I don't wear that make up or have someone immediate in my family who does either. So even though it comes to $3 which is a GREAT price, I won't do the deal. If I did wear that makeup I would be all over it :thumbsup2 Now if I would get the $3/$15 make up CRT that some others have gotten I would do the deal since then it would be free, KWIM? It just takes a lot of discipline, but eventually you will get the hang of it and it is so much fun and a very "cheap" hobby :goodvibes

Well then. You did great with your deals!! One way to gauge how you did (besides comparing it to others) is to compare to what you USED to pay before you started to CVS. I cringe everytime I think about how I used to PAY for toothpaste!!!

I also don't buy the Glade deals, usually. Unless its free and I need to boost up my total to use a $/$$. I'm allergic, so can't use them. I personally wouldn't give one of the Sense and Sprays as a gift. But I did give out those Glade glass candle bowl things with the candles that melted. (Can't think of their name - maybe scented oil candles???.) Actually, my mom gave them out to coworkers.

Maggie

We can only use the candles as all the other plug in type ones cause allergies for DGD!! I do give teh jarred candles as teacher and co worker gifts ! The CG make up deals are great stocking stuffers for the grandaughters and my daughter !!I just buy what I know they use !! Same with the hair stuff , they have certain ones they prefer and so I get them even if they are not free or moneymakers !!

iheartcvs . com is reporting that for each $25 worth of egiftcard you buy, you will get $5 free. So 5 for 25, 10 for 50, etc. Has anyone had any experience with the egiftcards?? :confused3 I would love to do it as I can make the extra $5 go a long way with CVS!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for the ideas about using the $10/$50.

I think I might try to map out a deal...and use formula to bump me up. I have some Similac coupons ($2) and I can't use them at Sams where I usually buy formula. So I am hoping to get a plan together to use the coupon and use RTF jugs of Similac to bump me up to $50!

..sorry if that was confusing.
Thanks for the idea, too! I don't wear makeup but it got me thinking.

The medicare quiz is working again! Hurry and go get your $5/$30 coupons while you can! Mine beeped last night as invalid, but she pushed it through. Better than beeping already used.

So... I used the $10/$50. I was by a different CVS than I typically frequent so I popped in.
I probably could have done better if I'd put more thought into it... but this is what I did.

2 Honey Nut Cheerios
1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch
2 boxes Fiber One Granola Bars
1 jar Ragu
3 100ct Lipton Teabags
2 Hall's cough drops
2 King Size peanut M&Ms
1 King Size tube of M&M minis
1 Scope Outlast
1 gallon milk
1 box Similac RTF bottles (I haven't been able to find these anywhere so I was excited!!)

Used:
$10/$50
$2 Similac
2 .40c Fiber One
$1/ 3 cereal
B1G1 Halls.
$5 Similac check.

Paid $25.25...used $25 gc I got yesterday for filling my Rx at CVS.
Got $7 ECB back.

Thanks to :love:Flaky:love:, I did this deal:

$10.00 Ten packs of Trident Layers
-5.00 Five BOGO Trident mfgs.
-3.75 Five 75 cent Trident IP mfgs.
1.76 Two Gold Emblem smarties
-1.00/2 Gold Emblem CRT from scanner
6.99 CVS Brand Vitamin D
3.49 CVS Brand Vitamin D (BOGO50% sale)
-5.00/10.00 CVS Brand Vitamin CRT
-2.00/10.00 CVS Brand CRT from scanner
$5.49
-4.00 extra buck
$1.49

Then I did another transaction:

1.00 York Peppermint Patties
1.76 Two Gold Emblem smarties
-1.00/2 Gold Emblem CRT from scanner
$1.76
-1.00 extra buck earned from bag tag
$0.76 (earned $5 extra buck for candy deal)

$1.25 total for all that candy and 2 bottles of vitamins :) (although I am not counting a loss on the bag tag extra buck)

ARGH and OMG and what was I doing and :headache::headache::mad::mad::mad:

I accidentally threw away my CVS receipt with all my ECB on it.

Is there anyway to get them replaced or am I SOL? :sad1:

TIA

If you go to the store and explain what happened they might manually print for you, they don't have to, but I think they might. Tell them customer service said to check with the store - we're your customer service ;)

Save every receipt you get in a shoebox from now on, you never know when rebates come up and I have made about $200 a year just from saving receipts.

Okay. So I may have messed up in my thinking.. I was trying to rush when I went (my son was in the car with my friend) so I didn't pay real close attention.

I got the Fiber One granola bars because they had a tag that said I'd get $2 ECBs. It's the only tag I don't remember looking at specifically and I just realized I didn't get any ECBs for them. Anyone know if they were included with the General Mills cereal deal or have any idea what happened??

I purchased the e-giftcards online this morning and they worked wonderfully. I purchased one that was $10 and another for $15. Within a few minutes, I received three separate e-mails, one for the $10, one for the $15, and one for the free $5. I printed them out and used the $15 egiftcard this afternoon at CVS with no problems! I  CVS!
