Cutting in Line

My favorite...While waiting for Aladdin's ride, I observed 2 very small girls, like 2 and 4, creeping up the line next to the railing. Every few steps, they would stop and look back at their father standing on the ground outside of the ride and he would motion for them to keep going and smile at them. The line was not that long anyway. When the 2 small girls reached us, I asked where their parents were. One answered "I don' know." So I called the CM over and reported them as lost children. Shame on me, but it was fun!! They were reunited with their father at the END of the line.

And what would that rude awakening be?

At BTMRR we did exactly that did not let 2 people up to their group, and everyone in front of us chimed in when we said no. We all offered to let the group back but not them forward. The group ended up doing what they should have in the first place wait till the stragglers caught up to them in line. All it usually takes is 1 person to speak up and then others will join in.
If you want to ride and the ride has a line then do what everyone else is doing wait in it you aren't special.

We have done that too and everyone always supports that, in fact I have even seem Cast Members escort them out of the line.

I have a 16yr old younger sister and when we are down there sometimes our parents will be in line and we might get out of line another way and go to the bathroom or go get a snack or something along those lines. I think your very judgemental you do not now what we were doing and it does not concern you. if you wouldnt let me and my younger sister through to go back up to our parents i am sorry to tell you that you would be in for a rude awakening. I think the fact you are saying a kid and a parent can go and not 2 teens or older is BS.

I agree with the PP that asked "what would the rude awakening be?"

It seems to me that a lot of people don't understand the concept of a line. :confused3

"A queue (British English) or line (American English) refers to a line, usually of people, cars, etc., assembled in the order they arrived and waiting for some event or service. New arrivals begin their wait at the back of the queue. As people are served, they move forward in the queue until they reach the front and are served, thereby assuring that "first come, first served." The person at the front of the queue is referred to as Next."

The moment you leave the queue, you give up your right to that place. It doesn't matter that the remainder of your party stays, you have forfeited your spot. You are not entitled to reclaim it.

If you want to go get a bottle of water or a snack, get a FP! You can wander the park, snack, relax all you want. If you want to see an attraction without a FP, stand in the line like everybody else!

A few years ago while we were trying to find an empty carpet on The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, this father tells his little girl who must have been 4 or 5 years old that one was free and it was the one we were about to get on. Well I shocked that this person who cut right in front of us and that he was teaching his little girl it was ok to do that. Plus they happened to take the last carpet available so we had to wait a few more minutes which I didn't think was right.

Well played.

you are all so ridiculous, i can understand a whole group cutting would be a pain, but one or two people. next time i will be sure to pee on your foot instead of leaving my family to run to the bathroom :)

Why don't you just use the washroom before you get in line? That's what the majority of us do and it seems to work just fine.
You wouldn't mind if 8 sets of "one or two people" barged their way ahead of you?

I think we're talking about extreme situations... Not 8 sets of one or two people, but honestly, 1 or 2 people. With the lines this week getting up to FOUR hours, you can't expect people to wait on lines without needing the restroom.

While I suspect you may just be trying to get a rise out of everyone, i'll take the bait. One or two more people makes me, who has been waiting the whole time without getting out of line to get a snack or whatever, wait longer. I understand that you are on vacation, but SO AM I and your time is not worth more than mine. Wait your turn. Simple as that.

And on the bathroom break thing...if you have a YOUNGER sister that is 16, you should (unless you have a medical condtion -- and disney will accomodate you on that if you have a note from your dr. that you cannot wait in line) be able to hold it or know that you have to go before you get in line. Even though your post may insinuate so, I don't think you are 5.

And if you try to cut in line after getting a snack because you cannot wait in line like a big person -- sorry dude, not getting through. :wizard:

done arguing we all have our own views moving on with my life

Seriously if at 18 you can't go before you get in line or wait till after I have no idea how you are going to survive in the real live work world!!!

(and if it is an unforeseen bathroom emergency , well those are the breaks in life and it happens to everyone occasionally and grown ups say oh well I'll ride next time)

And if you pee on my foot I hope you enjoy dealing with park security at the least and the police possibly.

No one is forcing anyone to wait in those lines. Use fastpass. Get to the parks at opening, or go back right before closing. There are ways around the long lines.

Honestly, I couldn't wait in a 4 hour line without having to use the restroom. But I wouldn't ever wait in a line that long anyway. So I don't have to worry about if others are cutting or not.

I don't mind if it's 1 or 2 people as I posted earlier. And I also posted that I'm not going to say anything or let it ruin my trip.
But, just for discussion, when does it get ridiculous? Say you're waiting in an average line for an attraction. 1 or 2 people go by. Then 5 minutes later another 1 or 2 people push by. 10 minutes later ANOTHER 1 or 2 people shove their way through. Now 6 people have passed through. And you're not even at the front of the line yet. Does it happen often? Probably not but, it has happened.
And yes, I do expect healthy adults to be able to make a decision to make a pit stop before they enter the line that will clearly state about how long the wait is. Or they should grab a FP.

I agree with Maxiesmom, go early in the AM, stay later at night to ride what you want. It isn't always convenient to go to DW during off season but I almost always make sure I do so i don't have to deal with these long line situations.
I agree that no ride is worth a 2-4 hour wait. In fact, I won't wait longer than an hour. I go early at park opening and go back in the evenings, even when the parks aren't open late.
If someone does cut, depending on my mood I will either roll my eyes or make a smart comment, I've even reported it to CMs if it's a larger group and they have been taken care of and led out.
Do I let it ruin the rest of my day? No but I'm most likely going to make a comment you may not like.
And I'm thinking a PP was joking about peeing on someone's foot, but yea, if someone did do that with no concern to others? I would cry "ASSAULT" lol.....

That's awesome. You win the internet today.

No it isn't BS. Anyone who is healthy and older than 12 can either wait to go to the bathroom before getting in line or hold until after they ride. For goodness' sake, my daughter is 16 and I treat her as a young adult, not a 5 year old.

If anyone one peed on my foot, my husband would gladly help them to lick it off and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

the best part is ~ she isn't just saying this for going to the bathroom but also to get drinks and snacks! Which I am guessing is what justifies the need for the bathroom shortly after.

So my guess is that this guest would be pushing past you no less than FOUR times during your wait in line.

Yeah ~ go ahead and piss on my shoe ~ that I will react to.
