Does anyone know what cut of beef (roast) to buy so it falls apart when you cook it in the crock pot? I can't find it!! :confused3

I have good luck with bottom round. I just cooked one today.

I agree with the posters who said chuck roast..I put mine in overnight on low and it falls apart..I make shredded beef for Tacos, enchiladadas and chimichangas this way

I always use a chuck roast. It is really moist and will fall apart. It's very fatty though so I cook mine the night before I want to serve it and let it cool in the fridge so I can take the fat off the meat and out of the gravy.

rump roast :teeth: Nay, I just felt like saying that :lmao: Yes, you want a chuck roast

since a crock pot both steams and simmers meat you can go with whatever is the cheapest cut of roast on sale.

Yep, chuck is good. Remember that beef cut across the grain and well marbled will usually be more tender.

Of course, there is always the acception to that rule, tenderloin. That stuff is so tender you don't even need a knife.

I like a 7 bone chuck roast.
FYI: the same cuts of meat can be called by different names in different parts of the country~
I like to sear the meat in oil & since we love it, a lot of garlic, then into the cp.
I'll put a couple of bay leaves, S&P to taste, more garlic!, can of unsalted beef broth, 1/2 a cup or so of V-8 juice, Worcestshire, dab of leftover strong coffee,
carrots (occassionally parsnips or mix), onions, potatoes, onions, celery &, sometimes, mushrms.

oooh, I'm hungry..
