Customizing colors for Halloween face makeup?

Any makeup experts here?

DD wants to be Perry the Platypus for Halloween. It's impossible to find a costume to buy, so we're making one for her. I've bought a hoodie with matching pants in an appropriate color. We've got a hat. We'll make the bill and feet out of orange craft foam. I still haven't decided what I'm making the tail out of, but I've got a couple of ideas for that.

DD, though, *really* wants her face to match the hoodie. There's no way I'm going to find makeup in that bright blue-green color!

So, makeup experts: can I mix up the squeeze-tube makeup like paint to blend my own color? Can I really get royal blue and yellow to make teal green??

Or should I be looking for face paint? I would think the cream makeup would be more comfortable to wear for 3-4 hours than face paint, especially considering how much she wants to wear.

I am a professional face painter. I do not recomend the type of face paints you find around this time of year. If you google the manufacturers, you will find they have a very high allergic reaction rate.

Instead, I would recommend going to michaels craft store and picking up a snazaroo palette. These are professional face paints, easy to use and easy to remove. they even carry a child toy safety rating.
You can buy a small palette with eight colors I believe, and mix the colors. they mix up like watercolors would.
Any other face paints being sold to the general public, I would avoid like the plague.
Snazaroo is good, and the klutz books that have Wolfe FX paints are good.

If you are truly budget minded, you can use the michaels coupons and get a snazaroo palette for less than you would spend on that crappy cream makeup from wal mart.
