Custom Touring Plans: TP or Ridemax?

I just sent Len a message about this, but I thought I'd ask DIS'ers too:

I want to make my own touring plans, since will be arriving at various parks at various times of day and probably want to ride certain things multiple times, aside from not being interested in some of the other stuff that tends to be included in the stock plans. I've read about people making their own touring plans, but from what I see the "personalized" plans on TP are nothing more than a listing that you make yourself... no benefit from the statistical model, which basically means they're not worth much.

Is there still a way to do this on TP? I've heard that Ridemax may have such capability, but do they have the statistical horsepower to do it well?

Last, is it possible to do a TP that includes multiple parks? Or do they have to be separate plans?

TouringPlans will be separate plans that you make yourself if you create your own for multiple parks. I do like that I can make my own where it shows on the map how far each step is, but it's you making your own touring plan.

I've never used RideMax so can't comment on that one.

Sounds like Ridemax is more what you are looking for, I am not sure about thier statistcal accuracy but many swear by thier plans for cutting down time waiting in line. There is a Ridemax users thread around here that may help you out more. Try here.

Ridemax may be more suited for your needs, but I will say this re: the customized touring plans . . . I look at their canned plans for young children and canned plans for tweens. I print them off and customize my own using those two as a guideline. I don't have tweens, but my older DS is tall enough for everything and my younger DS is now tall enough for most everything. I use the two canned plans as a guideline and customize from there, so essentially, I'm still using their statistics. Does that make sense?

That does make sense, I just want don't trust my ability to do that when the sophistication of the model they use is so far above my head. I'm probably over thinking it, but hey... what else do we do here?
