Okay, guys, I just stumbled across something really neat and I thought I would share. There is a site where you can custom-make your own Disney t-shirt. You pick everything - the logo you want on the shirt, a name, a number (I guess like a jersey?), the shirt style, or a saying, the shirt color...I was just playing around with this and it looks like the possibilities are nearly endless. They have adults and kids sizes.

And they have LIME GREEN t-shirts!

Here is the link:

My boyfriend and I are going in May...I can just see the eye-rolling ( ) now if I surprise him with our own custom-made matching t-shirts!! :rotfl:

cool, not sure if it is on their site or not, but we are getting incredible shirts for our vacation! Mr., Mrs., dash, violet, and jack-jack. My DH is thrilled.......

You should do a search on the boards here for zazzle before ordering. There seems to be many people who were not satisfied with their customer service.

Thank you for the information, GoodFairies. That's too bad - it looks like such a fun idea. But...word of mouth is the best reference... :sad2:

Darn!

you could always make your own at home

I just made 2 cute tinkerbell tank tops. I just found a picture of her on the internet that I liked. saved it to my hard drive and printed it out on iron on transfer paper from my printer. Then all I did was took a blank tank top and ironed it on! Now I have my own and with No shipping cost! :wizard:

Just make sure that if your image has words on it you invert it or it will iron on backwards...

Cool idea! Do you have to have the "crafty" gene to do this? I'm not very crafty. Does the printer need special ink? How does it wash? I take it that Michaels or Hobby Lobby will have the paper?
Thanks!

Just want to go on the record as being completely satisfied with Zazzle.com.
We got several different shirts from them several years ago and I was very happy with the results. Yes, one particular style shirt ran small, but the site does tell you about it before ordering. The images have held up very well thru the wash. I only use them at WDW so it isn't a case of washing them constantly, but after 4-5 washes they are still fine. I did get them in a reasonable amount of time also. My only issue is that I wish I could have the exact wording I want and not have to choose from their selection. It was a pretty big selection but still......

I'm making two different shirts for us...one has a Tink design, the other is a Mickey one. After finding the images I wanted & saving them to my hard drive, I open the image in "Paint", then design the wording (I used a Disney font), & other touches I want. It's fun to play around with different phrases, colors, etc. to come up with a unique shirt.

Like someone said...if you use words be sure to flip the design before printing.

Hobby/craft stores carry the transfer paper, so does Wal Mart & office supply stores like Office Max. If you use a lot of paper, you can often get a good buy on ebay....something like 100 sheets for around $20.

Same here for making your own shirt, it is sooo easy and really corny!! I love it!!!! My family rolls their eyes when I model the shirts I made for me and my son. I HATE wearing t-shirts. I love baby tees and your basic tanks. So I bought a tank from Old Navy. And tried to iron the image on. DIDN'T WORK!!!! Don't use any shirt that has a ribbed texture. THen I found a plain cotton tank at Target. I ironed everything on and it is soooo cute. I even put a lime green line at the bottom with my dis board name. I will attempt to post a pic when I get home.

Another Diser recommended this website for good graphics with nice resolution. I used it and it came out perfectly. I then used Word Art in MS Word. Once you play around with it, you can change almost everything from font, size, borders, color, etc....

Then finally when it came to print options, I went into preferences and selected mirror image. From what I heard there are a few different options for flipping the image depending on your printer.

For my son, I found a cute almost lime green shirt from Sears and ironed his on. For his shirt, I made the image larger and put it in the center. On my tank, the image is much smaller and in the upper left chest area.

Bought the transfer paper from Staples. I bought the dark transfer paper and light transfer paper. I ended up going with the light. Only drawback was the the white in the image was transparent, so it is the same color of my son's green shirt.
It was lots of fun and I can't wait to wear them. I would definitely recommend this instead of ordering them. I would have ordered them, but there weren't enough options for me. Good Luck.

I'll have to keep that in mind, that would be fun for my two friends and I to have the same t-shirt, for when we go to Disney World this Sept.!

I REALLY want to try the iron ons. How do you find t-shirt size images? I found one site specifically for transfers, but it didn't have the characters that I wanted. When I try to use just various images or clip art that I am saving from the net they are too small. If I try to make them bigger, they get distorted. Any and all help would be appreciated!

I made an iron-on for my daughter's birthday last year. I downloaded a desktop wallpaper image, and then used Photoshop to get it to scale and make some modifications. Using the largest available image gave me the best quality.

Just sent you a PM. :)

Just wanted to say that I have had nothing but good experiences with Zazzle. I custom designed about 12 shirts for my daughter's upcoming trip; I had the shirts within 4 days of ordering them. I was VERY impressed!

Here are pics of the shirts that I described in my other post on this thread.

Here are the front of the shirts I made

Thanks for the pics PrincessA! Quite the cutie you have there! I really would like to do the t-shirts, but I am soooooo not crafty. Maybe I'll give it a test run.

I would love to have some tips on this! I have a few questions! Every time I try to do iron-ons they never come out right. Could you tell me what kind of paper use used and the material you used? Is there a certain kind of ink I need? I'm really not that crafty although I try to be! I just love your shirts and your cutie pie! Thanks for any help you could give me! princess: princess:
