and were NOT offered the Disney Visa Promotion. I just called back our guide and left him a message. We also were offered the $8.00 a point or a one time points match equal to the number of points purchased.

This is what I was offered today. I'm assuming the 2006&07 points are only an SSR deal. We do have the Visa, so I'm going to ask about that. Does anyone know if it applies to people who pay in full as long as the deposit amount goes on the card?

Yes, I believe the 2006/2007 points only applied to SSR, and I believe the 2006 points are now gone. My sister called DVC on Monday 9/17 & they said they were only offering 2007 points & single developer points (or $10 per pt discount) for SSR.

As long as you put 10% or $2500, whichever is less, on your Disney Visa card for the downpayment you are good.

Note, fine print states Disney Reward dollars will be available 2 billing cycles after purchase is complete.

I think that you only get the APs if you are a current AP.

With the $500, I wasn't offered that because I don't currently have a Disney card, but some of the other posters have further discussed that offer.

We just finished doing everything. Closing costs were $320.53. We got two AP's, 200 Bonus points, the Sorcerer Mickey lithograph, and the $8 per point (because we went with AK instead of SSR). Our use year is April and our 2007 points are just waiting for us. I just wish that we had the Disney Visa prior to 9/1 because the 500 Disney dollars would've rocked.

I still can't believe it. I'm in shock! Our guide asked me where we were going to go to first (seeing as how we have 400 points just waiting for us to use) and I just don't even know! I'm just so excited!

We're starting out with 800pts!! WOOHOO!! We didn't have to ask for anything. our guide told us right up front everything that we are entitled to. She even said that there were no other hidden promotions that we could only get if we asked for. Pretty amazing deal.

We will be down there in November and were thinking about checking out the AKV rooms while we are staying at SSR.

Is the promotion only good for either SSR or AKV? or can it be applied to add-ons at other resorts, like BCV or BWV?

Thanks for any info. I might have to start planting some seeds in DH ear before we go if we might possible be eligible for it.

We signed September 1st. The only thing we got was $10 off per point. No AP's, no lithographs. Would any of you call your guide if you were in our shoes? DH said to let it go. We never received any fastpasses either as promised during our tour. We were told it was too late in the day. After putting out $16000, every little incentive helps.

I think that you have to purchase a minimum of 200 points. The only resorts that we talked about with our guide is AK and SSR so I don't know about the rest of the resorts.

This is like a dream come true.. I'm putting pencil to paper and plan on sharing with DH as soon as I see him. Yikes, I'm as giddy as a kid in a candy store. If I'm reading this right, if we buy 200 more AKV points then we'll get 200 - 2007 points, 200 free points and 200 coming in 2008, PLUS all the other goodies because we are AP holders and Disney Visa members. Okay, I just thought of one possible hitch, is this for new buyers only? Tell me that isn't so.
Also I'm going to do a search, but what is the current selling price. I know it went up recently and didn't plan on adding quite yet, so I didn't pay attention.

Oh how very frustrating! The promo started just after you bought. It's for the last two weeks of September with an end date of September 29th. I don't know if there is any way to get the promo if you've already put down your downpayment and signed the contract. So sorry! That really sucks.

We were not told about any $500 rewards, or any annual pass tickets. We have the Disney Visa Card which we put our deposit on and my wife has an annual pass.

Yes. I'm so sorry, but getting all of the promos is for new members who sign between 09/17/07 and 09/29/07.

If I were you though, I'd call your guide and at least ask about the Reward Points. They can always say no.

Developer points are basically an "extra" set of points, that must be used within 12 months of your contract date (more specifically, your vacation that uses those points must begin within a year from your contract date). They have no home resort affiliation, so can only be booked at the 7 month window. These points cannot be banked, not sure if they can be transferred.

For example, I just bought AKV on Friday. We bought 200 points with an August UY. We get 200 points for 2007 right away, and we also got a set of 200 "developer" points to be used within 12 months.

It is a bit confusing. Let me see if I can explain it, as it was explained to me (almost made sense then).

Firstly, no you do NOT have to make a decision on using the developer points in the next 2 weeks.

Developer points, based on when you bought need to be used within the next year (prior to Sep in your case). The only catch is you can only make reservations using developer points in the 7 month window (not 11 months as you can at your home resort).

I bought on Sep 13 and got single developer points. Here is what I did:

Booked a 2 bedroom suite and 2ea studio suites (couldn't get a GV, I think they are hard to get at 7 month) for mid march 2008 using the following points:

2006 points
2007 points
developer points.

This reservation was made within the 7 month restriction and I used them at my home resort SSR (mainly because of availability). I will still have my 2008 points in reserve. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Please make certain that you tell Member Services that you have developer points when you make your reservation. They have to book them using a different system. Because of this you will not get a confirmation number right away. They will mail it to you and you should get it within 7-10 business days.

I would suggest calling Member Services on Monday. It is my understanding that you do not have to bank Developer Points provided you use them within the required time period (I could be wrong though).

In my case, this question did not come up because, effectively, I banked my 2006 & 2007 points (got a banking confirmation number) & then turned around and used them & the Developer points immediately on a reservation for March 2008.
