It is a tough one. I can tell you that I did not like having restricted and unrestricted points and did end up selling a BLT one because of it. Now, it will be direct only...though, we really don't need more than 900, so I am trying really hard NOT to buy more!!

Yes, I soooo want to…but trying to hold of…had those sellers of resale RIV had accepted my offers in March, I’d be there..glad they didn’t…putting toward a new kitchen!

I need to stay off this thread. I would love to add another 150pts at VGF vs waiting for Poly2. I wish they allowed this for 100pts. I would buy for sure. Dh would think I was crazy if mentioned adding on again this soon. I swore when I added on at VGF in Dec, no more points until Poly 2. I wish they had this deal back when I bought in Dec. I would have bought more points back then.

I wonder if it’s to do with tax. I think to rent points through most agencies based in the US you need to provide your tax number. That’s why we rent via David’s if not renting privately. They are based in Canada and don’t require you to provide a tax number. That’s my vague recollection from trying to rent points during the pandemic. They also, according to the guide I spoke to, send you a cheque in the post after completion. That might be harder to cash for those not based in the US. It’s a shame you can’t just offset it against your dues for the next three or so years.

900-1k points! Wowzer do how long can you stay at Disney for that? Over a month! Now that is living.

The restrictions are difficult for me to understand after not having it for so long and wanting to add points at sold out resorts.

In a studio it could get me at least 45 days! But, I use them for 3 to 4 night trips every year from Dec to March…and then do a summer and fall trip….never anything smaller than a 1 bedroom…and some trips are 2 bedrooms if there are 4 or 5 going…

Disney ROFR'd a bunch of points at CCV, AKV, OKW, SSR & BLT last year. They have an awesome deal right now at AKV. We own resale at CCV and SSR - would really love to get a blue card. I'm debating buying AKV right now just because of the deal and the opportunity to get a blue card at a great price.

Does anything think they would do a flash sale with all the extra points they accumulated at some of the other sold out resorts last year? My heart isn't really in AKV - I'm really hoping for a sale on CCV:}

Given VDH is coming online this week..I would expect it. I think they added AKV because sales for Feb and March slumped.

We are taking a weekend trip in May to Disneyworld. Maybe I'll talk to someone then - the special in AKV is still out there. Our April use year is past for buyback of 2022 points, so that advantage is gone for us.

Just got off with a guide and now am a blue card member!

We jumped on the AKL offer for 150 points at $196 a point (new member pricing). We also did magical beginnings of $22 a point for a price of $174 a point.

Originally got pitched a Saratoga Springs contract at $202 a point, their offer was $3 off for a 150 point contract.

One things you can do if debating this and VDH or a potential other sold out is contact a guide, begin the process. You have 10 days to back out and if incentives come out for something else thst you like better, you can ask to switch.

I just took a peek over at the ROFR thread and saw how much VGF contracts are going for. I will be keeping my resale instead! That was a fast decision!

Thanks for the accurate discount. And yes, the 10 days begins when you get and sign the documents.

It was more that agreeing on the last day can give you some leeway to see any new incentives but lock you in to the current one!

Understood. I was just trying to hint you could stretch that 10 days right now by asking for docs and then being a bit slow in signing them. Would give one plenty of time to see how the offers for VDH shape up and whether they extend the AKV offer or perhaps add other offers.
