Current free dining offer expires May 18. What's next? (Looking for rumors!)

Our Fall Break was moved for 2012-13 school year to a week later and we are now blacked out according to the dates posted. Looks like we will finally be giving Universal a try.

Makes me sad to go to Orlando and not visit Disney but we can't afford over $1400 dollars for tickets, hotel, food and gas for a 1 week vacation. Even off-site is getting too expensive when ticket prices, etc only go up.

I agree it is getting expensive and I will have 2 disney adults after this trip :headache:

:sad1: Just called and no PIN.

It looks like our arrival date is likely to be 10/16. If the current dates for FD hold true for a GP offer, we wouldn't be able to use that promo.

Does Disney usually release a room discount at the same time as a FD offer? Are the blackout dates less restrictive? Hoping to get some discount for our trip. Can't imagine having to go and pay full price for everything.

Well, I called Disney this morning {hoping for a PIN} for our August trip. Now, I know that the Free Dining has ended, but I am curious as to the number of guests getting PINS that include August 5 (we check in August 17) and I made it clear to the CM that I was just really hoping for the FD because we have never gone to Disney without it. Well, he told me not to give up because there could still be something else coming for August because it still early. Here's hoping!! popcorn::

So if my dates in the PW blackout period and I am considering sending my mom two days early to check in the four of us, can we change rooms after 2 days and still keep the same reservation for FD purposes or would it be a new res?

Basically 3 adults, 1 child are booked for a Nemo suite 12/1-12/11. If FD comes out, but has 12/1 blacked out, I'd like to send my mom 11/29 to take advantage, but put her in a LM room for two days so it's cheaper.

I'm sure it wouldn't work, but I thought I'd ask you guys since you seem to know all the rules, better than the CMs when I've called. And this is all assuming they offer FD through 11/29 and for AoA suites etc. TIA

Alright, I will put in my convo with a CM, too :goodvibes

I just got off the phone with a super nice CM who said that he believes the FD pin emails that went out yesterday and today are going to "first-time vacationers" (his words!). He also said that the demographics may change a bit, and they are currently adding more email pins to the list. He said that by Sunday (at the latest) all the current FD pins will be sent out, and if I didn't have one by then, I wasn't getting one for this set of emails. He said the resorts are "not selling out at this time" because "the demographic area is so small". :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

This to me is good news.

He also said don't worry about checking your emails, just call to check. This makes me happy! :cool1:

I think the CM might have just been shooting from the hip. Our last trip was Nov/Dec of 2010 (on free dining) and I got the PIN Code. We've probably had 4 or 5 trips in the last 10 years, so definitely not for "first timers".

The latter part about not checking emails is correct, calling WDW Reservations you can ask if you have a pin code and they will tell you.

Hoping that a June GP release will come to fruition. If it does, there will be a whole lot of :cool1::banana::woohoo::dance3::cheer2::yay: party: and EVEN
:dancer: (I hate creepy dancing guy, but for free dining, I'll allow him to join in the fun)

He is definately creepy, lol. But, if a GP offer for FD comes out in June & is, hopefully including December 9th, I'll even get down with him. :scared1::woohoo:

Called this afternoon and no PIN! I didn't have a too friendly CM either, it's crazy how they are not consistent. i told her i would be booking 6 rooms and wanted to book the AOA standard rooms for 11/23-12/1, hoping that would help my chances but she didn't budge sooooo i guess i will call later on tonight and just book our room onlys until the GP comes out for FD!!

I would like to know too! We are south of Boston:goodvibes My arrival date is the 17th too, we have never gone without FD it is the only way we can afford Disney. However if I do not get any FD we will be staying at Bonnet Creek and I am toying with DC, Seaworld and Universal. We have never done this before and if we have to pay for food why not?

oh and lucky me I have 3 children who are considered "adults" this really burns me! really?

We have 3 Disney adults and after October 29 it will be 4! We were hoping to get one more trip in before we moved up.

Well I *should* have said 2 in addition to DH and I so 4 just like u :headache: I think the age 10 disney adult rule is not a good one! But not trying to open a can of worms here :rolleyes1

Last year there was no GP room only discount for October.

The offer I received has a much broader list of available dates, BUT
it does not include AoA and is ONLY for quick service (regardless of room category). I will need to pay a small additional amount to upgrade to regular dining.

Lucky you!!
Just wondering dates you received on your offer were..

That's exactly why we are going in October. Gotta get 1 more trip in before DD turns 10 in November. Then we'll have 4 adults also! :headache:

I just made reservations Monday for free QS FD (and paid $180 to upgrade) but got an email offer yesterday that will save $603 (I think this would be a better deal for us as we would prefer appetizers to desserts, don't drink soft drinks, and like the flexibility of being able to eat where we want when we want.) So I guess I'm switching it, although I feel a little naughty giving up FD.

What kind of offer was it?

No, you have to have the same room/package the whole time.

I have no idea, it works out to about 25% off the whole package, so maybe its 40% the room??? I'm not sure, just our room & tickets full price are about $1900 w/7 day hopper, with my free dining I was right under $2100, and w/o dining I'm at $1474. The email just had a discounted package total and said to try another resort or length of time if this wasn't what you were looking for.

No pin code for us, so far. :sad1: I refuse to give up hope, though!

Here's a question that I hope someone here can answer: We are booked in two separate rooms: my husband and son in one room and myself, my daughter, and my sister in another. If a pin is under my husband's name or mine then what I'm gathering is that only those listed under our household can use the pin - so my sister couldn't get the free dining?
I thought that the rule was if dining is on a package everyone has to have it?
My TA told me she thinks it would also hold true that if my sister has a pin that only she would get the free dining because the rest of us are not listed under her household.
We've never been able to use a pin code, so I have no idea how that would work.
Thanks for any help on this question! :goodvibes

I received a PIN via snail mail a couple of weeks ago and I don't know where I placed it. I don't think it included my dates, but can't remember. Is there a way I can find out? If I call will they know?
